Any lawyers with charity & trust law experience
situation:
donor designates $100 for the use of a well project in africa. the charity that is managing the well project has received enough donations for the project and as a result, the well project is fully funded. on the donation card charity has a claws (misspelled on purpose) that says funds can be used for any project they see fit if the original project is fully funded. charity will have more well projects in the future but for now no well projects are scheduled.
question:
is the charity suppose to carry forward the $100 until it's next well project as per the donor's wishes or can the charity use the $100 to buy up an orphanage instead in accordance with their gift claws?
pls keep this professional and on topic. Any sources you have for your info would be appreciated. TIA
