Any old dudes and dudette's who want to reminisce songs of yester-years?

Post them here. No spamming, just good ol' songs.

Here is a start:

Edit: broke my own rule. I'll add 90s to the mix

Anything by Heart. Barracuda, Magic Man, Dreamboat Annie, etc.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tz1DgHYYIPM

Heart paved the way for women in the music scene. They wrote the songs as well as played the instruments and sang like nobody's business.

They are originally from Seattle, but settled in Vancouver while recording for a local label known as Mushroom Records (on 2nd Avenue near Granville Island). I remember that studio well. Fokkers there pissed off the two sisters and the rest became history, for them more than Heart.

We skipped the light fandango
Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor
I was feeling kinda seasick
But the crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
As the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
And the waiter brought a tray

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale

She said, "There is no reason
And the truth is plain to see. "
But I wandered through my playing cards
And they would not let her be
One of sixteen vestal virgins
Who were leaving for the coast
And although my eyes were open wide
They might have just as well been closed

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale

She said, "I'm here on a shore leave,"
Though we were miles at sea.
I pointed out this detail
And forced her to agree,
Saying, "You must be the mermaid
Who took King Neptune for a ride. "
And she smiled at me so sweetly
That my anger straightway died.

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale

If music be the food of love
Then laughter is it's queen
And likewise if behind is in front
Then dirt in truth is clean
My mouth by then like cardboard
Seemed to slip straight through my head
So we crash-dived straightway quickly
And attacked the ocean bed

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale

Along with music comes dance. Dance moves. Ah, I remember my younger days on the night club dance floor. If I tried some of that shit now, I would end up in Burnaby General. My forte was the swing. I could take any girl and turn her into a dancing queen....... can I lead? Yes, I can lead......

Every time I hear these two songs, it reminds me of my aunt. She was one of the first white women to marry an Asian. Back in those days, it was pretty much unheard of. I was in awe of her. She was tall and quite good looking from what I recall. We got along very well, through music. I was always listening to the radio. We sang to many a songs together. Sadly she passed away at a fairly young age. A tragic death. These two songs were her favourite. She also listened to Tom Jones a lot. Anyway............
