Woman dies following nightclub assault on Granville Street | Vancouver Sun (http://vancouversun.com/storyline/woman-dies-following-nightclub-assault-on-granville-street)

Vancouver police say the young woman who was allegedly assaulted out front of the Caprice Nightclub early Thursday morning has died.

VPD spokesman Const. Brian Montague says the incident is now being investigated as a homicide.

Shortly before 2 a.m., a fight between the victim and two women began in the Caprice nightclub and then continued out front on Granville Street.

Police say staff at the club intervened to stop the attack on the victim, who was reportedly punched and kicked. The two suspects fled from the area on foot.

Half an hour later, police located and arrested two women believed to be the pair involved in the incident.
The 28-year-old woman was taken to hospital in critical condition, but she later died Thursday night.

Montague says both suspects have been interviewed and released from custody pending further investigation and results of an autopsy.

This is Vancouver’s fifth homicide of 2016.

The Caprice Nightclub on Friday posted a statement on Facebook, saying staff are “heartbroken over the senseless tragedy” that happened Thursday.

“Every member of our organization offers their thoughts and prayers to the victim’s family and friends at this devastating time,” the nightclub wrote.

regret?

How can you "regret" on a 2v1 attack while kicking someones head for 15 + minutes? there is no remorse... they know what they were getting into with so many witnesses and I hope they serve jail time.... but who knows, probably go probation but should be manslaughter...

I think what he meant is when karma comes back and bite them in the ass.

And usually when people are angry, enraged, furious, and on a rampage, they are not conscious of what they are doing. So at the moment, the two girls most likely didn't know they were gonna get themselves this deep.

Not local, on the island. And I assume 1. Get them out of the building, 2. Call the police
3. Just make sure no one kills each other. Don't be a hero

That's my guess anyways

Agreed. I've had to go out from behind the bar before. And then you hear the reasons or how it started and you just shake your head.

I bet they regret it after they get charged with manslaughter @ the age of 25.

People are already concluding that it'll be manslaughter for the 2 girls.

Unless witnesses step up to confront that these 2 girls are guilty or if there is surveillance somewhere, I can imagine it's pretty hard to prove anything.

i work at a club in Victoria........ if there is a fight on our property we will stand in and do something, Off our property we call the cops just because if there was something to go down and we got hurt it does not help us. Do not get me wrong tho, there has been numerous times i have gone across the street cause there is some kids trying to fuck with a kid or a 3v1 or whatever and had to fuck some kids up. Also knowing your buddy or other bouncer has your back helps also
