What I mean by enthusiast car is not just a base Corolla CE or whatever, but something that is sporty/custom/looks like the person who owns it cares about it, customized it, is a driving enthusiast, etc. Something that somebody would think, "Cool car!"

Reason I ask is I've known people who have been into cars, have had (presumably jealous) people key them, leave garbage on them etc. Once downtown I saw an "occupy wall street" type of skid go up to a BMW i8 and randomly angrily slam his palm on the roof a couple of times and storm off.

Now that I have my 5.0 Mustang and I try to keep it in tip top shape, I'm more cautious where I park it than my daily driver and it's insured and I'm not going to stop living my life, just curious if vandalism by assholes has happened to anybody on this forum?

In vancouver I wouldn't really worry about vandalism...nice cars are a dime a dozen. The only thing I care about are door dings hence why I look for dem wide ass parking spots :thumbs:

Yes.

Had my car window smashed, twice. One time I can assume it was to steal stuff. The other time they stole nothing that was in the car, they didn't take my sunglasses, my phone, or anything. Just smashed the window and took off.

I've also had the wrap vandalized on one instance, and on another instance someone dumped a mcdonalds milkshake all onto my car.

It's really disheartening to see, I'm a pretty outspoken person, on here and in person as well. I say whats on my mind, I have no problem with people disagreeing with what I say, or if they think I'm a dick or an asshole. Couldn't care less, you can even call me and asshole or yell at me. Fuck it punch me in the face, can't say I don't deserve it once in awhile, and believe me your not gonna hurt my feelings.

But to pull some passive aggressive shit and vandalize my car when it's on the side of the street, is pretty fucking sad, my car can't defend itself, you can set it on fire and it's not gonna do shit. So you're not some big tough guy, or some badass if you fuck up my car, you're just a dickhead.

I've also received some threats directly on RS. Most notably:

I am a little more careful about where I park my car these days, I try to park where there is foot traffic, and some level of security, but like you said if I can't and someone wants to pull some shit they will, I will get it fixed and move on. My 325is had its rear window smashed out at a party in high school.
GTI was never vandalized but was hit and run 4 different occasions.
M3 has been hit and run twice. I believe it was also keyed, but before I owned it.
It sucks having someone fuck your shit up, and not knowing who it is. Its just like being stolen from. Just a bunch of fucking cowards.

Yes to vandalism.

Someone did a Dukes of Hazard body slide across the hood of my eg in muddy clothes (neighbour witnessed it)and left huge scratches.

A few years later someone stomped in the roof of my Cressida and then took a piss in the caved in section. This happened right after I got the car back from being stolen.
