I believe I'm one of the first in vancouver/richmond with the '17 escape titanium. Right now its still less than 2500kms on the odo.
I have already had to revisit the dealership 3 times for the 2 recalls.
but what's annoying is the 'Engine Failure message' that keeps popping up.
I have already received this message 4-5 times already. Each time I just restart the car and it clears. This time is different. I was on Kingsway driving normally at the red light. Auto stop kicks in. When light greens, my car wouldn't drive anymore. 'Engine Fault Service Now' warning comes on. I restart and the message is still there. This time it has locked the car into a limp mode/valet mode. And it still won't go away as I tried to restart several times in the middle of the kingsway intersection. People were honking at me and I felt bad. Ended up driving back to richmond in limp mode, rpm was stuck in 4000, no torque no power. Auto start-stop is not working.
Could this be engine failure already at 2500kms??
What should i do now? I'm waiting to call the sales first thing on Tuesday

lol at Chinese's perception of thinking Ford is da shit. Their hatred towards Japanese naturally drives them towards making decisions of buying shitty domestic cars.
Fucking noob :lol
Why aren't you driving a Chinese vehicle?

now that i think back what happened, basically it was a stall caused by the ecoboost engine. yes a stall on a brand new car, unthinkable in other manufacturers. i hope this stall issue never comes back.
it made me panic on kingsway.
i still like the car

no bov installed since there isn't a bolt-on solution for the newer engine on the market yet.

not going to lie but yes that was a important decision factor

sometimes I envy the koreans living here because they have full access to many of their home country vehicles without compromises.

Legit question. Any mods on your car? The 2017s I have at work have been pretty reliable and the 2.0t has been reliable as of 2014 I believe after they found out some direct Injection carbon build up issues. Ford has been having tons of recalls recently but it's better than no recall. Shows ford is being proactive with bettering their products after-sale I guess. I really am not a fan of the auto start stop regardless of how much fuel it saves. Hopefully they figure out what's making that engine failure message trigger

what did you expect dude, you bought a F. O. R. D.
For what it's worth, I remember reading about this issue a couple of years ago in Lemonaid regarding Ford's Ecoboost engines, so it's not like it's a new issue. From what I recall, it was from condensation in the intake air cooler.
