My experience at Quiet Muffler & Brake

Muffler-Man and The Speed Syndicate was booked up (3 hours & 2 hours wait time respectively), so I went to the next best thing (I thought).
My experience at Quiet Muffler & Brake.
I had 2 bolts stuck between the Mid-Pipe and Muffler - they started with power tools, then pulled out the torch without asking me. Paid $40.00 and here's what I got.
Take what you would from the pictures below (the 3rd picture was BEFORE, 4th and 5th picture was the aftermath), not impressed and won't be going back.

So you just needed them to get the bolts out?

$40 got you $40 skill.
what did you expect?
normally people who spend $40 don't care too much about aesthetics on the undercarriage of the car - they just want their problem solved in the cheapest and fastest way possible.
remember friend, in life you always get 3 options, but you can only pick 2:
cheap, fast, good - cheap and fast is no good ; good and fast is no cheap ; cheap and good is no fast.

but for this fix it doesn't matter if they are fast.

The muffler shop issue is kind of expected but what I don't understand is why someone would buy an $1800usd axleback exhaust for a 10 year old plus G35? Is it even titanium?

Whats the big deal? It will have zero effect on performance and no one will see it.

40 bucks to remove 2 bolts is cheap?

imagine if you're in surgery and the operator said that.
doesn't matter how cheap OP paid for it...if he/she was not aware there would be irreversible changes, it's on the shop.
but let's get down to the important part, did you talk to them about this and allow a resolution before posting here?

It's an exhaust not a piece of a human body.

and that was an analogy
if that degree of work is considered acceptable then they are not a very professional shop

Wait....
You spent $1800 on a new exhaust, and you couldn't wait 2 HOURS for Speed Syndicate to install your exhaust for you????!!!
imagine if you're in surgery and the operator said that.
if I went in for surgery and an operator came in giving me medical advice I'd tell them to GTFO and get the surgeon lol :alone:

Not to install but remove 2 bolts.

From the looks of it, they used a cutting torch attachment and pulled the trigger... way too much heat for removing a rusty nut if you're not careful.

This is more of a fail on FGK where rust is common.

All he had to do was get it red hot and gun it off

you get what you pay for..
been there couple times and i'd definitely stay away from that place.
shop owner flat out asked me "what did you expect me to do for $40 cash deal?" when i complained about their hack job when i was there last time.
Enough said.

Small price to pay for a lesson that could have cost you way more.
