he FR-S and BRZ are both widely controversial platforms within the car community. Some love the vehicle’s handling capabilities and their aggressive body lines, others hate how slow it is– period.

Vorshlag Motorsports has already developed many parts for the FR-S and BRZ but wanted to mix things up. After installing some of their suspension parts in their in-house project car, they quickly came to the conclusion that it could be transformed into quite an impressive track car with not too much work. Unfortunately, it still will always be lacking one thing that every road race application needs–power.

So, what else would they choose to do other than swap in everyone’s favorite “go-to” motor–the LSX.

“The simplicity, reliability, low weight, compact size, aftermarket support, power potential, and just raw power of the OHV aluminum LSX V8 is hard to ignore,” Vorshlag says.

Vorshlag has officially began fabricating LS swap parts for the Toyota 86, FR-S, and BRZ. They plan to release motor mounts, a transmission crossmember, a custom Tremec Magnum XL transmission, a hydraulic clutch, a driveshaft, and more for sale to the public soon.

Currently, Vorshlag has many other motor swap parts in the process of development, but claim this new addition won’t slow down any project’s progression. They plan to update their blog over time, with the next update being released quickly after the SEMA show.

If you are interested, their website will soon be updated, or you can call them directly to order.

or you could just buy a corvette :troll:
I guess the balance isn't affected much given how popular LS swap have become in this platform.

You know, as much as I enjoy modding cars and getting the most out of a given platform, as I slowly drift through (and soon past) my 30's, the sad reality is that I really don't have nearly as much time as I used to in my 20's to tinker and do all the research for mods. An off-the-shelf package straight from the factory is so attractive in that sense...

I mean a used 86 with this swap probably costs nearly as much as a C6, right?
why go through all that trouble...unless you're the "it's the journey not the end result" which is cool if you're doing the full swap in your/your buddies garage...but if you're just paying a shop to do it...just get a vette?

i own a FRS, and i an dumb as rocks in terms of knowing what these parts do

does this mean I have the option to mod some parts to make it vroom vroom?

the interior alone is probably enough reason to do this than to buy a vette

so it's a little more plasticky and dull, but i wouldn't say terrible considering it's 8 years older.
to me swap = money down the drain when it comes time to sell

some say interior is important because that's what you're staring at/sitting in. I say dynamics of the car is more of a priority and the LS is going to be more at home in its original chassis like the engineers with millions of R&D designed & intended it to be.

Not to mention that a c6 is miles more aero, the double wishbone front suspension is superior to the Macstrut in the FRS, and it can fit much more tire.

My E36 swap was also featured in that thread as one of their sponsored cars and while I have no problem with their kits whatsoever, I have also driven a lot of vetted and I wish I had just bought one.

Whatever happened to the coyote swap kit?

i think you are referring to the one that was built for the president of RS-R? sadly, that one the few others out there are all one-offs and not a kit :(
