'Surface Studio' could be the name of Microsoft's rumored all-in-one PC | Windows Central (http://www.windowscentral.com/surface-studio-could-be-name-microsofts-rumored-all-one-pc)
i don't get it..wasn't the Surface meant to replace desktops? It's selling well even if the Surface Book is doing OK. Now they want to compete with iMacs
to be announced on Wed

Looks friggin awesome. Wonder if it will have a dedicated GPU. Looks like you can lay it down flat to draw on.

Microsoft...

I guess they are trying to compete with Apple with their all-in-ones. Guess what, Microsoft will charge a premium for their products...

dont get your complaint...Apple is the one who started charging premiums...and professionals are willing to pay for quality products like the iMac so may be this is their stab at that
I just find it weird when companies backpedal on their ethos (ie. Apple saying phones are perfectly sized below 4"...we don't need stylus then once Steve Jobs passed away they changed all that....or MS saying the Surface replaces a desktop then comes out with this few years later and completely negate what they originally said)
let's hope there's a disgustingly beautiful 5K display if they want to price it similarly to the Apple

$4000+ and no OLED, USB-C or maybe even SSD FailFish
i get it...no panel makers are really doing 13+ Megapixels...still this is strictly going to be for professionals.

Did more research and found out that the screen that Microsoft is using in the Studio is equivalent to a 27" Wacom Cintiq. The price of that? $2800 USD or $4000 CAD ~
https://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Cintiq-27QHD-Creative-Display/dp/B00R7QJAHY/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1477521750&sr=1-1&keywords=wacom+27
When you put that into perspective, the device itself is priced fairly competitively. For a few hundred bucks more than the tablet itself, you now also get a computer to go with it.
This is definitely not a computer for casual plebs.

the design is seriously some game-changing shit
still feel that saving SSD/Thunderbolt for a future model is a slap to the target audience
I tried video editing on a hard drive once...it was excruciating. SSHD won't help much me thinks...the firms/institutions buying this and not upgrading anything should opt for the 64GB memory model and use RAMdisk I guess.
