I JUST came back tonight.
I did the 2 day level 1 & 2 and will be doing 3 and 4.
Will give you a full review later
Small tit bit:
1) The Ridge; the female instructor is from N. Van.
2) Ridge is one of the top 5 more exciting track in US
3) Seca is a big track; it's also famous for the declining radius track.
4) Las Vegas track is smaller and a bit more technical than the other ones.

It's fucking dope. I also got Misti (The Instructor from North Van). She's a total monster and great instructor. You'd be riding your ass off thinking you're quick and she blows by you at her AMA racer speeds.

From what I was told the best track for CSS is Willow (Has a bit of everything, it's their home track). The other recommendation is VIR (but then you'd have to hang out in Virginia) and COTA (Not the best for learning but you get to ride COTA!). The Ridge is a nice choice since it's so close and isn't expensive to get to. For the price of airfare + fancy accomdations we could do 4 days at the Ridge. I'll be doing 3/4/4/4 also  | |

I think The Ridge is good for us just over the border. Definitely helps save on the flights.
Are you going to be going again next year?

I met Misti a few months ago as my friend won a free training day at PMTD. It was amusing watching her blow by everyone on a Grom.

Yes, it was Misti, and yes, it's TID bit. I'm just way too tired after the trip and I desperately needed sleep.
I talked to Misti for a bit and yeah, she loves the mountains for Vancouver and travels with the team going everywhere.
1) You THINK you're fast, well, to be honest, you're not. In Vancouver, you can ride and you can catch up to your friends cause you can still see the tail lights of your group. At the bike school, these guys are just epic fast; simply are humbled cause these guys are legendary...
2) The owner's brother came up and said to us "how do you like your instructor? He's a superstar"
"wtf do you mean by superstar"
"he's ranked Number 3 in USA"
Faster than anyone in the Super bike school.
3) The track in Vegas is very small, and one of the harder course (told by the instructors).
Here are a few observations.
a) Meet at 7 AM, sign up, grab breakfast; INTRO to the team and you start learning at 7:30. NO BULLSHIT. None of the AA meetings BS; "Hi my name is ____, I have 10 yrs of riding experience, I own 2 bikes" type crap.
Literally, you SIT down and you start class at 7:30 learning theory.
b) NO boring videos. Nothing like Motorcycle class in BC where you sit thru shitty ass 80s video. 20 minute whiteboarding, and you're done. JUST when you are able to fall asleep, you get your ass into gear and you ride.
c) Food, snacks, water, everything is there. They encourage you to eat & drink a lot. I literally drank a bottle of water before the ride, and drink another bottle when you finish the ride. You sweat like moto; it was Nov, it was 103 degrees (39C)
d) People are SUPER friendly. I have never seen someone with a bad attitude, everyone had a smile on the face, from registration, mechanics, to the kitchen ladies.
e) Professional is the game. They generally care for you to get better. I'll post pics later; I think it's a very well runned machine and you know they are no BS. I can honestly say I'll never ever think I'm "fast" ever again. Seeing someone doing a lap at ~1:25 and you're doing it at 2:55.... yeah, i'm just slow.
I met a lawyer there, who has been there 30-40 times. YES, 40 times, level 4. Imagine you go there 4 times a year, that's literally 10 yrs of riding.
Anyhoo, will post pics later. Truly a humbled experience, you get what you pay for, no BS, go learn, 20 min class, 20 min riding (MORE THAN enough) and repeat for 7 sessions.
OH, 7 am - 4:30 PM. EVERYONE went to bed at 9 PM and slept like a baby. A lot of people had red eyes simply cause your eyes are just so tired after a long day of riding.

I'm going to do July 12&13 The Ridge level 3 & 4
I do encourage you to do some research on which track you like. Has anyone been to previous track and can give us some feedback.
Laguna Seca has history, famous corkscrew (decreasing radius with bump)
I really want a good track with LOTS of turns versus lots of straight aways. I wouldn't want a 4+ mile track and have only 1 - 2 technical turns.
Las Vegas MotorSpeed way. 2.4 Miles; not that many long stretches, 2 double apex turns, very technical and a harder course compared to others. Flat track with close to zero elevation.

A number of people and instructors recommended it, Thunder hill was also mentioned... Scheduling/work is the main concern that decides which one I end up attending.

I don't make a alot, I never got handouts, but I do earn what I have/do...eventually.
you can't really put a pricetag on skills/experiences, and sometimes if you're passionate about something, you just jump in.
Also, you get more out of it if failure isn't an option, rather than just shrug it off at no burden or consequence.
Yet I suppose something with such a diverse schedule, you can afford to wait for the right moment/location.
I'm not trying to sound like a prick, but sometimes I've kicked myself in the ass for not doing some things sooner than later.

^ it's still not a cheap trip, 2 X 2 day course is around 8000 CDN + hotel and flight which = 4 week trip to Europe, or a new bike to be humbly honest. So yeah, it boils down to preferences and what you value more.

It ended up being about $5k including airfare, hotel, food, car and everything else for a week.

5500 seemed to be the average all in cost for a 2 day trip... Granted it's still as much as a 2nd/3rd bike off CL. I also heard American supercamp is just as good, because learning on the S1000's take a bit of the challenge out.

I didn't have to bring shit. 2) S1000RR.
How many places would you ever get a chance to ride a S1000RR and as per instructors, they said it's just an awesome epic machine; what does this actually mean? well, lap 1 & 2 = Rain mode & then sport mode when you feel comfortable.
You can really tell the difference when you're on the different modes, not sure about other yamahas or ducatis, but it was good to know the bike does have good maps to accommodate to different settings.
