Hello all,

Wondering how long it generally takes ICBC to mail you your cheque out once you cancel insurance? I paid $500 up front for 3 months but I'm supposed to get 2 months worth returned back to me. This was back beginning of October. Any insight would help!
Thanks

from my exp anywhere from 5-10 business days.

I've never had it take more than two weeks. Have you tried calling them to ask about it?

I renewed my insurance in Sept and they made me pay an extra $100 for an outstanding ticket on their system but I had already paid it. I paid it again and they issued a refund the next day once I called their service center.

The cheque took 2 months to get to me. They told me they had changed their back office system recently so maybe people are confused and things are getting processed slowly.

check your CC statement - they just refund the card used (no cheque)

@AK, when you cancelled your policy, you should have received a document indicating how it will be refunded. Usually when insurance is paid by CC in the beginning they would refund straight back to the CC used.

If there were any midterm changes during a policy a cheque would be sent instead. (This is the case with the old system, new one allows brokers to select CC or CHQ refund option)

I heard there's a delay with credit card refunds vs cheque refunds...
