Hey guys, im looking for some assistance. Im currently trying to install an add on bidet that tees off from the water line that feeds the toilet.
Unfortunately the valve wont fully close and when i try to turn it more, it would start to leak.
The line that feeds the toilet is also a hard pipe so im assuming i wont be able to bend it down to attach another tee connector to feed the bidet.
I've attached a picture of the line.
I would like to change the valve and the hard line.
I know nothing about plumbing so Im not sure i know what to buy if i was to walk into home depot. The line that comes from under the sink seems to be some sort of plastic hose with a metal collar. do I need a special tool to remove the valve from the plastic pipe?
What part specifications do I look for in order to replace the valve and the line?
How do i shut off the main water since I cant fully close the valve?

Find (and test) the main shut off valve before you mess with anything else. It's important to know where it is for emergencies, ie burst pipes.

If you couldn't even figure that part out, it may be a better idea to call a plumber or enlist the help of a handyman instead.

Looks like you need a poly b to pex kit, small section of 1/2" pex, crimping tool, pex rings, new shutoff and a couple of flexible supply lines.

And yes, you'll have to shut off the main first.

Google poly b pipe while you're at it.

Find the main shutoff valve where the water pipe goes into your house and turn off the water there. Then you can start working on the plumbing.

You may be able to just replace the seals in the valve sticking out of your wall otherwise I would just replace it. Get a tee fitting that attaches to the valve and connect the lines from the toilet and the bidet. You can get reinforced flex lines now which makes the job a lot easier.

Can anyone comment on cheap mechanical bidet performance? In Japan I had a baller electronic bidet with heated seats and hot water with a retracting spray wand. The spray was warm water instantly. I've read these mechanical bidets take a while for the hot water to reach it through the pipes. Price seems right though at $70 off Amazon.
