Hi guys,
I have lots of friends overseas that orders from Taobao but I also heard that they now ship to internataionally.
Have anyone tried ordering from that site and ship to Canada?
Thanks

Ordering is not a problem, just expect to receive it 2 months later with their free shipping

I order it. The whole shipping to other countries depends on the sellers. Some seller will do it and some have no idea what you are talking about. So if you go into their store and want to ship something overseas you need to message them and ask. That's the first way.
The second way is to use EMS. So there are store on TaoBao that specially will ship your items to overseas. What you do is send all of the items you purchase to their address. They will then put all of your items in a box and send it to you. Most of them I use EMS.
To be honest is not really cheaper than say Ebay but the stuff you purchase from TaoBao have more styles (clothing anyways) but the quality is questionable. Now I use ship them to my ex plaxe and she usually send them out to me and I pay her through Wechat. Much easier and cheaper.

One of my buddies in hk bought one and hearing from him quality is actually pretty good.
But the issue is shipping to Canada..............Lego version retails $350 CAD

Knockoff are a whole different world in china now. You really do get what you pay for. A lot of the higher end knockoff is close in quality to the real thing especially for something as simple as lego.

My family frequently orders from aliexpress. Everything is good and dandy until the item passes the border into Canada. You lose all tracking thanks to Canada Post. They explicit state all international tracked items won't be tracked in Canada.

buyer feedback saying it builds just like a real one, but some sets have many missing pieces lol, but the seller is willing to ship them back right away.
damn, I am buying the orange (not yellow, need to check my eyes) one for sure, hopefully will get one to arrive Hong Kong after Chinese new year.
go to taobao.com and paste "乐拼911" in the search box. you will see those $3XX knockoff lol

I might get one just for shits and giggles, then my sister in law is going back in Aug... by that time, if the quality is on par (will post photos), I might get her to bring back a couple of sets

Taobao is great for things arent crazy (u know big electronic items and stuff like that)
I order my phone cases on taobao, seller sells me $2 phone case and include screen protector, cleaner, headphone jack plug and a headphone holder for free (those things arent really expensive anyways but its free)
Taobao has a 7 day return policy, after 7 days if nothing goes wrong your money will automatically be transferred to the seller, but if anything goes wrong with in 7days u can sent it back free of charge
Im not too sure about international taobao thought
I was thinking of using taobao for Kaws/be@rbrick toys, anyone ever try? $1000 vs $50

taobao's awesome. Bought 90% of the materials and furniture used in my home renovation from Taobao lol. I am in china though, so shipping takes 2-3 days for everything, and returning things is pretty easy. Gotta read the reviews to see quality of the stuff you're buying. I think there's services now setup overseas to help you buy from Taobao. You don't have to worry about a thing and goods get shipped to your door, albeit a bit pricier since thats how the service makes money.

furniture is awesome @ taobao, there are a lot of factories you can pick, which you can tell them the size you want and they have it ready.
Many European designer counterfeit stuff though. I bought a loft style floor lights for living room $3000cdn vs $250

I've managed to get a handful of random items from TaoBao over the years. Nothing of high value, just random housewares like kettles and whatnot, and some cheap cycling gear that was < $20 as opposed to paying $100+ locally.
In the end, I got what I paid for. Nothing has broken (yet) and this is over a matter of four years. If you expect authentic, you have to pay for it, but otherwise, stuff from TaoBao and AliExpress has been acceptable for me. You'll have to manage your risks accordingly.

aliexpress doesn't don't accept paypal so how do you make payments? do you actually use your CC or do they accept things like a prepaid visa card?

I've used credit card with aliexpress with no issues. I've purchased things from cellphone cases to crane motors with them with no problems.

but isn't aliexpress like ebay in the sense that you're not purchasing from aliexpress but from different sellers using the site as a forum to sell goods? i guess what i'm saying/asking is there any protection from paying in case you have a bad seller?
my friend tried buying something once and i guess the seller was a scammer so aliexpress (not sure the process) refunded the funds back on his CC. but having to enter the CC info worries me. not sure who has access to that information (the seller or only aliexpress whom then pays the seller?)

It is, aliexpress has a pretty good money back system and if anything happens, the CC company will cover me anyways. I dont know how well a prepaid Visa/Mastercard will cover you.
I believe aliexpress holds the funds like paypal before releasing it to the seller after X amount of days or delivery confirmation.

I spent 2 days to finish this. Feel lucky that there is only 1 missing piece, which is the clear corner light you can hardly see it. Quality is excellent, but I don't know why my door handles come in clear red. Can't expect much from $328 ($50cdn)

pretty cool for $50 cdn. I'm guessing it'll be more if it needed to be shipped to vancouver.
i've bought sets from toys r us in the past from like Kreo or Megabloks and i've had pieces missing so for something this complicated missing 1 piece from a knockoff company in asia ain't too bad
