Does anybody have any experience or insights on IP cameras for indoors?

Looking for one or two for my condo to keep an eye on the dog. Two way voice is nice to have but not required.

Thanks!

I'm running 3 of these at the moment. Quality is surprisingly good and they have 2 way voice:

Personally wouldn't run cheapo cameras indoors esp with audio. Chinese cameras are infamous for their security vulnerabilities.

I've been using the Dlink DCS-5222L. It's a few years old now and there's a newer model (5030L) that has come out to replace it. It's generally an OK camera for the money. A few notes that might be useful to you:

*Picture quality is decent though not spectacular. (it's also only 720p)
*Pan and tilt feature on this camera might be useful if you're watching your pet and they stray out of the frame.
*Has WiFi - gives you more options on the placement.
*Dlink also has their own app that you can use to view the camera so you don't need to do any configuration on your network to view the stream if that's outside your skill set.
*IR/Night vision - so you can see your pets at night even if the lights are out.

The 5222 has sound detection to trigger recording but no 2-way audio functionality unfortunately.

I use the Xiaoyi camera, but I hate it gets wonky every few months and have to reboot it and do the entire setup again.

Do you have all 3 inside? The research that I've found is that this is not a 24/7 continuous camera. However, can you tell me if you can record when you go into live video?

Yes all 3 cams are inside the home. It is 24/7 and you can press the record button while watching live video and it will save that portion. I'm running a 16GB micro SD and they hold 5 full days.

The drawbacks are the Mi Home app is primary in chinese, and you have to set your location to mainland china for it to work. If you are okay with that I would recommend the cams. I love tuning into my pets when I'm at work... May get a few more as the price is right.

other nice features:
motion detection settings (will send a push notification with playback clip)
night vision mode
flip image mode
and will detect the sounds of smoke/CO alarm
