Shopping for a vehicle that will take me from point A to B. Budget is currently $5000 but prefer not to spend more than $4000. Looking for a friend, she's in the market for her first car. She has considered Mazda 3, Civic... any compact car really, just want to be sure that it is mechanically sound and was taken care of (no rebuilts and no big accidents). Please throw us any suggestions also!

Coupe or Sedan does not matter
Reliable (important)
Any other colour except white


Luxury, not necessary:
Heated Seats
Sunroof
