Geely bought Volvo and the new Volvos aren't bad at all. They want to make the brand as gwailo as possible, so made up a weird English name Lynk & Co.

actually you'd be surprised by the quality of some of the chinese car brands now. That land wind and macan knock off is actually pretty good lol. Minus the performance of course

They copy the design. They didn't replace the body panel with styrofoam...

These copy cats are very popular in China. And like others have said Chinese car manufacturing has improve a lot and is not as crap as people seem to think.

For majority of people in china. Chinese made car is all they can afford. As you can see Chinese car manufacturers are doing very good. It's a almost win by default situation when all import cars are tax to the roof.

To be fair Japanese car brands started out copying design too.
