Tos'd I didn't end up ordering one from FNAC. Decided to wait until launch day and lined up early.
I've seen some going for 150-180. Just make a seller an offer as there are so many on CL Vancouver right now.
Otherwise you may want to pick a Walmart or EB and find out when they usually receive stock.
Last year some coworkers got some NESC at Walmart right when they put them on the shelf. They had spoke to the person there who said they were getting them at noon that day.

We have an update on your recent Walmart.ca order #
We have run out of items in your order, and these items will be delayed.
We're working with our suppliers to get you these items as soon as possible. We will update you as soon as we know when your order will be ready.
Any items that are unavailable to be shipped in the next 3 days will be automatically cancelled from your order.
:fuuuuu:
my walmart order got cancelled. go figured.
That's why I hate walmart.ca
They put no effort to fulfill your online order when their website said IN STOCK.

Give them your HS######## order number and they will look it up and take credit card payment.
Just wanted to thank you again. I called them up today and got it all sorted out very quickly. Hopefully i'll have them in a couple of days. I found it odd that for 2 units I paid $37 and change but for one you paid $31 (i'm assuming you only got 1)

EU/JP version is what I relate to.. hah.and Game Doctor..huehuehue
I had a game doctor 6 and had to snap those two plastic guards in the cartridge slot to make it work with my NA SNES. I remember the days when loading 32mbit games took FOREVER on 4 floppy disks. FUCK YOU CHRONO TRIGGER! So worth it though.
Back in the day, rent from blockbuster, then back up the game ftw.

For games with issues, you have to install the Retroarch module from here - https://github.com/ClusterM/retroarch-clover - and then add --retroarch to the game's command line. I would also recommend disabling compression. I got SSF2 working this way.
Retroarch basically loads the game in a separate emulator instead of using the built-in one.

If you guys want to rename the original games..
1. Open up Hakchi
2. Use an FTP client like Filezilla and connect to 127.0.0.1:2021 using root/clover
3. Browse to the /usr/share/games/ directory
4. Find the folder of the game which name you want to change
5. Open up the .desktop file with Notepad++
6. Change line 5 to however you want it to show up
I did that for Contra because I didn't like that it was all in capitals and for Yoshi's Island since it's technically Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.
If you're changing the name completely like I did for Yoshi's Island, make sure to change line 17 as well in Notepad++. Otherwise it will sort the games according to the old title when you sort by title.
Attached is all the games I added so far. Gonna add some more later on.

a few useful tips for those who Hakchi2'ed and Retroarch'ed..
Down + Select = Home Screen (can change to different button combo in Hakchi2)
Select + Start = Retroarch menu (obviously you'd need to have Retroarch installed for this)
if you want a certain ROM to be opened with Retroarch, add "--retroarch" at the end of command line in Hakchi2
for example: /bin/clover-canoe-shvc-wr -rom /usr/share/games/CLV-U-PTFXF/Street_Fighter_Alpha_2_(U)_[!].sfrom.7z --volume 100 -rollback-snapshot-period 600 --retroarch

I missed the 9am online at BestBuy because I didn't know about it until I read the comments on nowinstock. I figure some people might get their order cancel for whatever reason so I monitor the page the rest of the morning and afternoon. The stock came online a few times but didn't last long like less then 10 seconds. First time around noon I missed out cause I had to take my dog outside. Second time around 1pm I was able to add it to my cart and it went out of stock before I can check out. Third time around 1:45pm I was able to check out since I already had it in my cart. If you couldn't get one the day BestBuy have it online, just keep refreshing the page throughout the rest of the day and you might be able to get one.

The amount of SNES Classic on CL Vancouver is both hilarious and sad at the same time. Most units are getting snapped up by scalpers creating an artificial shortage. Prices are coming down though.
I'm playing through Secret of Mana for the first time since I was a kid. Even though I can save any time I still find myself using the traditional save function within the game. Old school! Except I am using the IGN walk through lol
Remember when these games were damn hard because most people didn't have strategy guides?

EB gets weekly shipments, however, some of the people working there are clowns and wont tell you when they usually get them in. The stores almost always get their shipments at the same time each day, so in my experiance, you pretty much have to be waiting there for them to open their shipment up.
I did this at 2 different EB's before i got mine, the guy at the one i got mine from at 72nd by the BC hydro complex there was great and told me exactly when they get them in etc. Even then i had to wait 45 minutes till the shipment came in and by then there were 8 people waiting for the 6 they got

finally got street fighter alpha 2 working btw!
First download this patch zip file: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6Lk0qFcMDLNZi1wVTRIWk9vQmc Extract it to a new folder.
Second, download and extract a USA Street Fighter Alpha 2 rom into that same folder.
https://www.loveroms.com/download/super-nintendo/street-fighter-alpha-2-u-/11897#captcha
Thirdly, download a program called Lunar IPS https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/240/ . Open Lunar ips, choose to Apply IPS patch, and choose the "WUP-JCGE-PCM.ips" file from the extracted patch which is in the folder. Obviously then choose the Alpha 2 Rom as the destination file to patch. Once that completes successfully, close Lunar IPS. You then drag the Alpha 2 (which is now patched) ROM file on top of the "make_sfrom_pcm.bat" file in the extracted folder, and it will run a script and create a new output file. This output file will end in .sfrom (rather than SMC like a normal SNES rom) - this .sfrom file is the file you will use to add into Hakchi for your mini snes.
only games I found not working so far are WWF Super Wrestlemania, Earthworm Jim 2, Power Rangers Fighting Edition, Dragon Ball Z , Top gear 3000

How early does one need to line up to snag one of these? I think it would be cool to have but I'm also not down to waste 4 hours standing in the rain outside a Toys R Us....

^ You go super early, they give you a voucher and you can go home until 10am at the latest... you don’t need to stand outside the whole time

At the Coquitlam Toys R Us. They're not doing the voucher thing apparently. Been here since 6am, 5th in line currently. About 20 people here so far.
EDIT: Manager came out and started handing out vouchers at 730. Came back at 8 and got mine! Lots of people still in line without vouchers getting theirs at 8 though. Apparently there was 48 of them in total.
Was thinking of going, but thought it would be lined up at 5:00 am. Damn, I should have gone. Oh well.

Managed to pick one up this morning. Arrived at Toys R Us at 5:45am to find only six people in front of me. By the time the store opened, there were about 20, and then another 20 came, and when I paid, they were all out. There were at least 50 units avaialble to my knowledge. Wished they had a ticket system, but the staff were nice and handed out water for those who waited in line.

Same. I stopped being so rampant on checking RFD as often. Then, with luck and good timing, I was able to get one from Best Buy when they had stock for 12+ min.

you could literally hit up SSP to pick one up, albeit slightly more expensive..

I know! There's even a store across the street from my gym selling them! I could go get one any time!
Just seeing people scramble so hard to get one, lining up at 5am, signing up for spam sites... makes me just want to go get one LUL

yeah pm's are already higher than you guys.
LOL
Before the restock, if I were you guys I'd pay a scalper a slight markup.
All this time spent looking for one or even waiting for one, I wouldn't have bothered. I just spent 4 hours waiting in line for it on release day. Took half a day off, so $100 markup isn't too far off.

If you think this is bad wait till they release N64 mini lol
Ima line up at 530 am for that shit lol
when the nes dropped, it was 1 controller and the cables were short.
snes dropped and it came with 2 controllers / longer cables
Im willing to bet n64 will come with 1 maybe 2 controllers. prob gonna be hard as fuck to get additional controllers as well.
FYI theres this n64 cartridge you can buy for around $150-200 and you can add/download any game via microsd and it works like the real thing. perfect if you already have a old one lying around.

I actually bought 2 at the Toys'R'Us when i was lined up behind Vansterdam because my wife came with me and she decided to be useful as a 2nd buyer and thought I would sell the second one to cover my own costs on the one I'm keeping... I listed at $180... then $170... then $160... had trouble selling it for even $150 on Craigslist... so the market is not as hot as you would think guys. I had people offering me $130 and even at $150 people were flaking left right and centre. Wasn't worth it for $40 profit, though the guy who did pick it up from me was super stoked about it so that was cool.

Received one as a gift after having purchased one myself at launch... Willing to let the new one I've received go for what I paid for mine at launch (~$112 after enviro fee and tax). Can even include my original receipt with purchase.
PM me if you're interested :)
