since Timpo got banned, I'll do the honours
you thought 110hp/L and 9k redline in a S2000 was nice
650hp/L
10k rev limiter
this is what the P1 should've been...a street-legal Formula One
they already have 1000 interested buyers but only 275 to be produced costing over $3M each

To be fair the s2000 is n/a and your 650/L is including the electric motor.
Here's a link to an actual article, amazing car

Can you take out the electric motor, burn it, and still drive the car? Because if you can't I have to admit i'm not interested

I'm still undecided on the body, there are a couple elements I like but a few I don't. The performance definitely impresses me

yes and I was half joking because that's the performance metric Timpo usually uses
S2000 was ahead of its time in 1999

if it's anything like a P1, yes. The dino burner puts out 500ish ponies...article mentions the tech is expected to trickle down into the AMG product stack

I can understand the dislike for the tablets as gauges...and the front looks a bit dated, but rest of the exterior bits I'm sure is critical for the aero

F1 engine in a street car, awesome.
So:
1) Mercedes Project One
2) Aston Martin Valkyrie
I wonder what the third car will be to complete the new holy trinity...

This or the Aston Martin Valkyrie. It should be a good battle.

I'm surprised you're on the fence about the look of it because it somewhat looks like a blend between the CLK GTR and the McLaren F1 (which I know is your favorite car in the whole wide world).
TBH, this is in the car category of "if you can buy at MSRP, get it no question asked".
I'd take a second mortgage if I have to.
Because ROI on these limited edition cars are crazy. LaFerrari's MSRP was what? 1.4M? It goes for easily 2x that today, and it was introduced 4yrs ago.

pretty sure you need to have quite the connections to even have a chance of getting on the purchase list
it costs more than a P1 and LaFerrari combined at launch and rarer than either one
what you're describing is probably more in-line with say the Ford GT or Acura NSX

It's a pretty big testament to how well Mercedes engineered their F1 motor in that they can just de-tune it a bit and stick it in a road car.
Granted they only rate the engine's lifespan at 50,000km before it has to be sent back to Mercedes for a rebuild, that's still 10 times more than it gets in racing trim so that's pretty good.

these will not be driven
they will sit in a pressure/temp-controlled vault
