Man tears off windshield wiper, breaks window in road rage incident | CTV Vancouver News (http://bc.ctvnews.ca/man-tears-off-windshield-wiper-breaks-window-in-road-rage-incident-1.3600923)
No excuse for the guys actions. He's been criminally charged.
The lady is claiming self defence because her 4 year old daughter was in the back seat. She's out of the car escalating the situation.

The lady was just as bad as the guy who was charged. Near the end of the video, the aggressor is walking back, and she hits him in the head with a can or bottle.
There are so many idiots in this city now. All parties involved in this video are the aforementioned idiots.

I was secretly hoping it was a can of redbull.
I bet after the altercation, her hair was all messed up and she regretted throwing her brush.....
:troll:
road rage is just so unnecessary.

So she was so worried for her daughter that she left her in the car by herself instead of simply driving away from the situation?

People are so high strung these days, you can't even quick honk at someone to let them know the light is green without getting the finger and see them mouthing you off in their rear view mirror.

A lot people in general are very high strung these days and I feel like it's linked to the cost of living and financial pressures people have living in the city. The mood in the city is much different compared to say 10 years ago.

And I'll be safely ensconced no where near the vicinity.
Was in Toronto in '94 and Thailand in 2011 watching both times on TV while my fellow denizens lost their collective shit.

How do you even get that angry?
Seriously?
I just spent the last 35 minutes driving the whole 9.8km to my office, passing condo after condo under construction. Dealing with idiots leaving the highway to take surface streets because of an accident. Surface streets that are made to handle the population back in 1997..... So yeah, I'm a little fucking testy, thank you very much. The reason why I don't rage is that I don't want to lose my gun license, the ability to travel, and all the perks one can get from having a clean record. That's enough to make me swallow my pride.
Like Harvey Specter said, people are high strung these days. I know so many folks who are terrified of the rate increases and higher costs of living. That shows in their overall demeanor. Add to that everyone is a unique snowflake nowadays, and egos are out of control.
Thank god I have my 6.0L v8 to get around.
Burnouts?
Don't mind if I do... :fullofwin:
^yea, the "improvement" they are doing to marine and knight is has doubled my commute
Fucking city is retarded, just make that a dedicated lane on to marine and go suck on doanlds trump taint if you are cutting 4 lanes to get on to the left turn lane for argyle.
motherfucker if you don't move within 0.0054 seconds of the light turning green, you bet your ass i'm blasting my horn for the next 40 seconds.

my friend said when he was a kid living in new york he used to think the horn was built into the green light changing.
Why did the fucktard cammer drive away like it was no biggie? Why did no one help to de-escalate the situation?
And Canadians are stereotyped into being nice and helping each other?

From the YT comment section, epic if true lol.
I have to commend the guy who ended the entire scene. A young guy in a dark green Volvo hatch back with a yellow Volvo - Elk - Ferrary spoof badge simply stopped behind them, pulled out a massive wrench, came over to them, and they cleared out in 30 seconds - the entire scene ended about 2 minutes after the dashcam car pulled away. Thanks dude! Loved the Volvorarri :)

I think that stereotype is more for outside the lower mainland, people here are pricks.

New York is pretty bad... I drove in Manhattan for about 20 mins to get out of the city and out to Boston... if you're not rolling by the time the light turns green, you get the horn... full stop at a stop sign = horn... stop at a crosswalk for a pedestrian = horn... sometimes even slowing down because of traffic ahead = horn.

Almost everywhere I have ever been is better than this city in that regard.
On topic of this, all 3 of these idiots should be charged, and are all acting like trash. I'm pretty surprised at how that window shattered like that though. Seems like it was too easy.

I honestly dgaf abt any of the 3 involved. But rlly, would this have happened if the old guy didn't get out of his car?
I mean I make mistakes like everyone and when someone gets angry I am very passive and sometimes they take that as weakness or me being a pussy. But if someone were to get out of their vehicle and approach me while family or girlfriend is in the car, damn straight I'm going to slam my door open and be ready for a fight. Point is I can understand(not necessarily agree) how the girl felt she needed to protect her child, heat of the moment.

I wouldn't say "the old guy got out of his car" as painting an accurate picture. The door on the silver car was swinging open before his was.
And what the fuck was she planning on doing when she opened his door?

People need to chill the fuck out on the road. They think just because they're in a car that they're invincible and start flipping the bird and shit. You don't see people getting all uppity in walking in a crowd because someone accidentally cut them off. Put them in a car and it's Rocket Man vs Dotard.

I'd say that and social anxiety brought by being "connected" via social media 24/7 thru your phone. People are constantly doing something on their phone or listening to music that there's never a dull, quiet moment for the mind to just unwind and process the life we're living. Nowadays we're so information and socially saturated we have no time to reflect and think.

It's also the infrastructure that hasn't kept up with the growth. People's commute are 2-3 times what they were a few years ago.

haha I get a little hot-headed sometimes driving..but i rarely lay on the horn/flip the bird anymore unless it's a close call
driving outside of north america definitely helps condition you to be used to being cut-off sans signals, U-turn in grid lock traffic, continuing straight from turn-lanes etc

Though on the bright side, I'm no longer nervous at driving manual in traffic.
Honestly surprised I haven't seen any road rage on knight. There's so many people using the Bridgeport exit lane to cut ahead.

idk whose great idea it was, but fuck the guy who decided to completely replace the "trucks use right lane" sign on the North Van side of Second Narrows with "fender benders move vehicles off of travel lanes"
Now almost everyday, there's three trucks blocking all three lanes on Second Narrows at any random time.
North Van traffic sucks, i don't blame anyone getting fired up. But please keep it inside the car.

Oh you are right, i see the can.. i may retract my previous comment. Still think woman shoud have stayed in the car with her kid and tell his passenger to get back in, not throw stuff and escalate the fight.

My thoughts exactly. When I was walking around NY I couldn't believe the amount of horning was going on. It was literally a beep every 2-3 seconds.
I almost thought it was a bunch of taxi's saying hi to each other, repeatedly.
Now that I think about it, even WALKING in Manhattan was semi-stressful. As a tourist I stopped to take a look at the map and this dude who was like 10 paces behind me raised his hands and was like "seriously man wtf" ... even though I wasn't directly in his path

i notice cars honk to warn pedestrians that theyre coming thru, since pedestrians are constantly jaywalking
driving in ny is intense (i needlessly rented a car) i think it increased my skill 10fold lol, but didnt have a problem walking or randomly stopping lol

I've spent the last ten minutes trying to find a study that I read which states that the larger the population, the less people care about each other. The more density a person lives in, the less value they place on human life.
But since I don't have a reference, I'll just see myself out.
