Alignment shop recommendations

Hello,
I replaced my front lower control arms over the weekend and now need alignment.
Could you recommend a good shop that is open to working with a DIY 'mechanic' and has decent prices?
I also need to do a bunch of work on my rear end but that is not tragic, and I need to get the car on the road while I wait for parts. So I'd be looking to do front end now and rear end later. A shop that could accommodate that would be great.
Thanks!

I don't get what you mean by this? Lots of people install their own parts, then get an alignment.
I'd suggest Speed Syndicate or Westcoast Alignment

DIy mechanic? does that mean you'll go to their shop for an alignment but will bark orders at the tech?

Bumping this-- I know the usual alignment question I see is for getting alignments for lowered cars-- what about lifted vehicles?
I'm entering the world of overlanding and have a 3" lift going in; I know the typical answer is Dale's, but they're quite the trek.
Where do the overlanders go these days for alignments?

Dale’s shouldn’t be the “normal” answer, overcharges and not special

my dealer charges about 150 bucks for their digital alignment. How much are indies charging nowadays?

$130-150 is normal

68style is correct. For more involved setups like camber kits, corner balancing etc. that stuff can run anywhere from $700-$1000 depending on where you go and what you do.

Drivehard is $120 for a 'normal' 4 wheel alignment. Just took 2 cars to them and am really happy with their work.

I tried Drive hard and Speed Syndicate, and unfortunately they don't touch alignment shims.
I'll try the rest of the recommendations here and report back on who will touch the shims lol

One of those listed made my car stank like cigs. Smelled like someone was hitting a pack of darts in it when i got it back.

Okay, when you talk about using shims for alignment, it isn't a regular alignment anymore. Not surprised Drivehard or Speed Syndicate won't touch it. You'll have to take it to a specialty alignment shop or speed shop.
I know it's not popular here on RS but if you need an alignment and part of it involves shims, give Blitzkrieg Autowerks a try. They do alignment of Porsche cup cars, GT cars, and what have you and part of the suspension setup requires shims for the GT3 lower control arms.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give em a ring!

Recently did a suspension lift on my 02 Rodeo; the front lift is just a torsion bar crank but the only way to adjust camber and caster is via alignment shims (if they're even off)

You might be in luck. Blitzkrieg does off-roading in a Mercedes G-wagen so there is a possibility they can sort out your alignment.

Update for those with alignment shims: Blitzkreig does indeed touch alignment shims, however, they will only touch performance vehicles. They did recommend me a couple of shops, one of them being Coastal Auto.
I gave Coastal Auto a ring, and they definitely do alignments for shims.

Glad Blitzkrieg was able to point you in the right direction! Post a follow up on your experience with Coastal (I have no experience with them.)
Blitzkrieg did the alignment on my E36 M3 and did a fantastic job. It wasn't your normal alignment as we went through the whole black magic of the process including corner balancing, adjusting rebound and pre-load etc.

Just take the wheel off and move it over a spline or two.

that just made it into a 50* angle
Just take the wheel off and move it over a spline or two.
taking off the wheel makes it worse, its the reverse threads that messes your mind... lefty tighty, righty loosey

Most of the recommendations in this thread are in Richmond. Anything in Burnaby or Coquitlam? I added M3 control arms to my E88 which affect my camber.

Speed Syndicate is in Burnaby near Metro. They mounted and swapped my tires last year.

I'm probably retarded but I keep getting TSS show a Richmond location on Google maps. Or perhaps they've moved since you last used them?
Edit: a Google review mentions they've moved to Richmond from Burnaby. :(

Maybe use Alpha1 Automotive (https://www.facebook.com/alpha1automotive/) - never used them for alignments but I've always preferred them over TSS for regular maintenance. A little more polished (good wifi, waiting area, better communication).

Shit, they're popular. I called them today and they're booking a little over a week out. I was hoping to take the car up to Whistler tomorrow but the toe is totally fucked right now.
Edit: Found a shop to fit me in last minute (totally my fault) at DG Motorsports in PoCo.

That's weird, all their addresses haven't been updated yet.

Too bad, I liked going there cause I could drop off my car and then hop on the skytrain. It's way out of the way now but maybe they'll have better waiting area now and the ability to drop off your car somewhere that isn't 2 blocks away lol.
