Good Vibes Only Thread
MSREE

So! I've been on here and it seems we have a lot of threads for griping & general complaining.
Since we seem to come together on all things miserable, I wanted to create a space where we could share the things that make us happy, thankful and grateful to be alive on a daily basis.
Smashed a PR at the gym? Kid took their first steps? Finished a tough course at school? Got your dream job/car? Finally talked to your crush? Let's hear about it!
As said in the title: Good Vibes Only. Keep it positive & support each other.
If you have nothing good to contribute, keep ya PJSalt to yaself.

I'll start.
I had a flare up begin the first week of August. Since then, I've been confined to my home for about 2 months. Some days the pain can be so unbearable that even getting something off the counter can bring tears to my eyes.
On Friday, I was able to head downtown and go to Stepho's for dinner with a friend! It felt soo good to be outside, even though it was raining, enjoying company and great food! I am beyond grateful for my ability to put on regular people clothes and enjoy a social activity pain free! Before I got sick, I used to bitch about things that really don't matter at all. Now every day that I can spend just enjoying my life is a blessing :megusta:

visited night market before they close down for the season. Saw these lego toys and decided to buy one for my sister. Got her the small green alien from monster inc. Something about this makes me feel great about myself, knowing that I have the power to give gifts. Cant seem to remember when it was the last time I bought something for the family.
Now staring at my unopen box of lego, it says that it has 480 small pieces!!
BRB, gotta build me a donkey kong!

Found out a month ago my dad doctor thought my dad had cancer in both lungs and they thought they would probably have to remove one and that he might not live that long. Just heard a couple days ago that he only has cancer in one lung and that with chemo they think they should be able to remove it and he should have a full recovery. Sucks he has cancer but couldn't be happier with the new diagnosis.

Had morning sex today. :fuckyea:
had a chicken ranch burrito and mexi fries from taco time for lunch. fuckin' awesome. throw back to when I was a kid and metro still had that food court where the T&T sushi department now currently sits.
Man crazy thinking back to how metro has changed. Sears will be gone soon too. TGIF is gone, multiple food courts gone, Grand and Toy is gone, Zellers/Target gone, playdium gone, foot locker where playdium used to be is gone and is now a winners, all of metropolis changed, station square completely redone.
Red robin is gone, boston pizza is gone, TD gone, Save on foods gone and replaced by pricesmart.
A&Ws beside where booster juice is now is gone. Disney store moved, toys R us going to be gone, HMV gone, rainforest cafe gone. that chinese restaurant with the ship theme is gone.
Futureshop gone, bubble tea place gone, A&W at station square gone, Fedex store is gone.
The day uncle willie's is gone, is the last of my metrotown childhood gone.
in 2.5 decade's time, a shit load of stuff sure has changed with that mall...

Its not a climatic story but here it goes… 3 weeks ago I decided to go back to Vancouver for my birthday. My mental health wasn’t doing that great also. While i was in Vancouver my friends invited me to Gareth emery as a birthday gift. Sunday comes I meet up with friends at 8 pm started pre-drinking, 11 pm we went down to celebs, had a few shots at Veras, went in the club, and had a few more shots. Drunk me decided that i want to Pk so slammed my chin into the sidewalk, and got sent to the hospital at 2/3am. Woke up to a few good friends that heard about me and rushed from Richmond to hospital. To make sure i was not severely injured, and stayed till i woke up.
TLDR, Had one hell of a night, pked, broke my jaw, and realized that i will always have friends to support me. :joy:

I did end up finding his ads, but only 3/4 tires are good. I think i remember him saying his son busted one of the tires lol. Looking at the photo, it's hard to see but looks like A/S tires, so maybe he literally meant winter RIMS. here (https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/van/pts/d/rims-and-tires/6332007859.html) But fairly inexpensive for someone who needs it... $60 for a set of OEM rims is pretty good.

Airmiles cash miles sure are making this gas price increase easier to swallow. Got about 4500 cash miles I've collected since April 2015 that I've tapped into on my last 2 fills.
Also swapped my BMW with my fiance's Nissan. She's only working 2-3 days a week this time of the year and a shorter commute, so it's helping save us some cash leading into the holidays. I miss my BMW greatly and it's only been a week.
Between the Airmiles and the car swap, saving about $85/week right now, so it'll be worth it.

So I woke up on Sunday at 7pm, feeling groggy from edibles since Thurs lol. Took a caffeine pill and an energy drink. Was able to shower, make dinner for us, and get through a crazy workout. 30 min cardio, 2 different supersets with weights (back and shoulders), and I did 4 sets of 30 sit ups + 1 min straight on ropes = 120 situps & 4 mins ropes. Total gym time was about 2 hrs.
Pretty happy since it was my first real day back since end of Sept. Surprised my cardio is stronger as i was able to do 15 min of hill training then end off with a 5 min run and i havent lost as much strength as I thought :)
Fucked up my hip again though LOL so fuckin olddd
Man, finally installed a new bathroom fan. It was making noise for a looooong time, then a few days ago, it just died.
Anyway, the builder being the cheap ass that he is, put the cheapest possible fans in the bathrooms. This builder, who lives in the neighbourhood, is a total cheap ass. Not frugal, but a cheap ass son of a bitch. Fokker used to walk by my house and tell me he's so happy for us living there. I think he even said, he prays for us and blesses the house. Damn fucking right..... prays the house doesn't fall apart before the 2/5/10 warranty. And the god bless.............. nuff said. Anyway, I take out the fan after cussing and cursing to find out the nice fan I bought at Costco ain't gonna work. Cheap ass used one of those fans with a 3 inch vent. The house is under 10 years old, so it should have 4 inch venting. Anyway, I'm like damn it, gotta go return the Costco one and get me a fan with a 3 inch vent. Long story short, and after lots of research I got me a Panasonic bathroom fan. This thing is amazing. So, after I get this Panasonic which happens to include a 4 inch to 3 inch adapter, I started to install the frame and exhaust duct part. I look at the vent pipe and the fokker had a 4 inch vent pipe in there, but hacked the end to look like a 3 inch. So, I guess the building code requires a 4 inch, but cheap ass builder installs a 3 inch fan. He didn't even use an adapter, which would have cost him 3 or 4 bucks. It took me a day to install another section of pipe to make it all work. The fan was installed prior to finishing, so nothing was easy. The only good thing was, the builder used the cheapest duct tape you can buy, so it was easy to take the joint apart. Anyway, it is all in and the fan is whisper quiet. And 110 CFM to boot as opposed to this dinky cheapest of the cheapest fan that sucked as much air as a................. I am a happy camper and proud I did it all without tearing out any hairs or cutting myself up.

HAHA LMAO. I wonder how he even found a 3-inch fan. Then again maybe ten years ago they still had a small selection on the market for retrofit applications. My place had one installed in the 70s or 80s... 3-inch outlet... vented straight into the attic.
They still sell 3 inch fans at Home Depot. They now have upgrade parts. Broan/Nutone makes an upgrade fan that plugs right into the old fan housing making it less noisy and produces higher CFM. No need to pull out the old fan.
https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.bath-fan-upgrade-kit.1000741263.html
After I found the Panasonic, I came across this upgrade part. I purchased it today and replaced one of the fans upstairs. Works like a charm. No need to take old fan out and cut new opening, etc. It's quieter and seems to draw air out faster. Nicer grill, too.

NOT picking on you; just expanding on your story.
We get a lot of owners complaining.
Common things said to builders.
"the owner keeps calling me saying how come people can do it cheaper"
"why can't the house be built faster"
mother fucker, if you aren't so fucking cheap and pay another $20k more, maybe you'll get the quality of things. Yes I can go back to the store and buy another adaptor part but that would mean 3 hours delay back and forth. It wouldn't be a huge problem if you weren't breathing down my neck saying you need to complete this sooner.
Cheap, good and fast, you can only pick two.
Was going to fail you because you don't get what this thread is about. But, in the spirit of this thread, I won't............. god bless.
Plus, I bought the house on the market (listing). I wasn't getting it built for me. so, again
god bless..........

Yup, it has happened to me a few times. It happens in places like Port Kells, Langley, and Abbotsford.......... you know, places where there are no frugal asians, gulolol.
I bring my own cup that's about the size or a large drink and they're okay with that, too.

Just got back (early early morning) from our Kelowna trip and I am thankful for the peace officers out there who help motorists get to a safe space. On our way back on Hwy 5S, right before the Coquihalla Canyon Provincial park, the Subbie in our group ran out of gas completely. Our car still had gas so we made a gas run.
Stopping on Hwy 5S in those conditions is ridiculously stupid and dangerous. Luckily a CVSE officer came by and escorted the Subbie to the chain-off area on Hwy 5N. That same officer came by and helped us clear off our wipers and gave us tips on making sure our windshields and wipers arent frozen. AND he let us use the emergency services turn around route to get back onto Hwy 5S.
I am so thankful for that CVSE officer that really helped us get out of a rough spot.

Friendly reminder to everyone:
Don't forget to drink your 2L+ of water today.
New year, new you.
Job stressing you out? Weather got you feeling dry? Girlfriend being annoying? Feeling those extra holiday pounds from feasting with the fam?
Drink water. Add some sliced lemon and cucumber to show others you are fancy as well as well hydrated.

Applied for some jobs this AM via Indeed. I got a call back right away. Talked to the lady for a small prescreen and she told me her and another colleague are sifting thru resumes and will contact the strongest people by the end of the day so for me not to wait by the phone. They ended up calling me 3 more times throughout the day lol. No vm. Like darn you said not to wait by the phone so I went to sleep lol. Ah well, I'll call them tmro lol.
It's nice to have a callbacks. I'm kind of embarrassed to go to an interview because I've lost my left eyebrow during a recent flare up :(
But fuck it. People can be beautiful without eyebrows too right?

Found out a month ago my dad doctor thought my dad had cancer in both lungs and they thought they would probably have to remove one and that he might not live that long. Just heard a couple days ago that he only has cancer in one lung and that with chemo they think they should be able to remove it and he should have a full recovery. Sucks he has cancer but couldn't be happier with the new diagnosis.
Found out today that according to X rays that chemo/radiation worked and they can't see any more cancer. Have another test to go for in a month and then he will be monitored for a year to make sure it hasn't come back.

Finally received my Automotive Technician Inter-Provincial Red Seal certificates in the mail :D
This time it's for real, i'm the biggest noob car repairer!!!
Damn, I finally got around to fixing my front gate issue. Builder of the house installed a really stupid system. It is very hard to open and close. The mail carrier, god bless her soul, tries to but fails to close the gate properly. The gate then is at the mercy of the winds.
I finally came up with a better solution. Magnets. I installed a pair of very strong magnets and used galvanized steel plate that I attached to the gate itself. The magnets were glued onto a piece of aluminum with JB Weld. It works like a charm. I'm so proud of myself, gulolol. It's the little things in life that make me giddy.

So I finally got well enough to start training again!
I have a problem with staying motivated just from my illness yo-yoing and I tried mixing it up before, had periods where I hated cardio and favored weight training.
During my last 2 month hiatus, I started thinking a lot about how I used to run track and won medals before my womanly parts grew in and stopped me lol. I made a decision to just go for it and start with incline training! I started off with 40 mins cardio and weight training with the hubs for the remaining 2.25 ish hours we're at the gym. We usually gym for 3 hours together.
On Monday, I got down 6380 steps in 42 mins and my fastest speed was 5.5mph on 5% incline. Tonight I smashed 8012 steps in 43 mins, fastest speed 5.9mph at 5% incline. I'm soooooooo happy with this!!!!! :)
I put Bengay on my knees after training and I take a day inbetween to give my joints time to rest so I don't shred them up too much.
Just wanted to share my happiness with my results since I think I'm being annoying on my IG stories since I reactivated haha!

I nominated my instructor for instructor of the year, and they won!
Waited for over a year to get my Colonoscopy. You're supposed to get one done at age 40. Well, I kept putting it off (over two decades). By accident, I let it out to my doctor that my father had colon cancer when he was 70ish. Yeah, that sent up flares and the doctor put a referral in for a colonoscopy. Now that the genie was out of the bottle, I had no choice. So, I agreed to the procedure. Since one member of the family had it, most likely you would, too. Kind of hereditary. Anyway, this was last year. Today was my appointment. I was not looking forward to it. My wife had stage four colon cancer and she died from it, so I was not looking forward to the bad news.
Anyway, they only found four polyps and they were not cancerous. A real relief. I'm good for another 3 to 5 years.
I got to see the whole procedure in full colour (technology, eh?). Damn, my innards were so smooth, clean, and pink. The doctor was very good and put me at ease. Her caring voice reassured me everything was going to be okay. I asked her for a cigarette afterwards. She immediately told me, "No smoking in the hospital." I guess the joke went ten feet over her head. The entire ward did break out in laughter when I broke out with, "You can Keep Your Hat On," by Joe Cocker, when the nurse said, "Everything off except your socks!" Hee hee............. There was a semi-hot nurse there and I was hoping she would stroke the stanchion and do a dance, but nope. I think she was too young to know what it all meant. The orderly's and nurses in that ward were very laid back and funny. Good Vibes, indeed.
So, if any of you are contemplating getting one done, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Not eating for nearly two days and drinking this thing called, "Pico Salex," was not fun at all. That's was the only "shitty part"....................

Wow, what a great weekend of weather. Sunny skies with a rising temperature!
It's gonna be time to switch back to all season tires soon. :lawl:
My dishwasher broke down, as in the start stop button was stuck and couldn't be pressed. I looked up the model number and did a google search. I found the right one and watched it. Somewhere in the video, dude says the part needed is going to cost about two hundred bucks. I was like WTF?
I ended up calling the manufacturer and they in turn referred me to other places. After calling four different places, I got a hold of the distributor for the parts. BTW, Reliable Parts couldn't get the parts. Dumb Euro companies that want to control everything. Anyway, the part is about 15 bucks. Yay! One problem. The part is on back order for four, maybe five weeks!
I thought to my self, I can probably repair the damn thing. I took everything apart, took pics, and saw what the problem was. Clear plastic cover that goes over the control unit has four button depressing things (for lack of better words, gulolol). One of them was snapped off. I took some Lock-Tite plastic glue and let it dry. Damn, it worked. I even put everything back without any screws left........... unlike the official RS Holy Grill. Flip?
Anyway, I'm so happy.
Phew.......... finally finished the last load of pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery that has been accumulating over the last few days. I don't know how the wife did it. Weeding in the garden, cleaning up around the house, vacuuming, cooking the meals, looking after her mom and the three kids, etc. I can barely do half those things. Wife told me before she left that it's okay to hire a person to come clean the bathrooms in the house. I can't bring myself to pay someone to do something I can do. Maybe I'll hire ZN6 to come clean the bathrooms in the house, lol. I'm gonna have to stop going to the casinos and start cleaning up around the house and yard. The place looks like a disaster zone.
Maybe hold a RS mini meat........... uh, on second thought, I would have to feed them, which means more cleaning up. Hee hee, hue hue, pew pew.
I guess I can ask the kids to help out, but they have lives of their own and jobs. I'm retired with nothing to do, except watch reruns of Matlock, 'cause according to an RS member, that's all we seniors do.

I was already walking and arrived at the station after work one afternoon and I realize I dropped my compass. I then walked back to work and thought maybe I just left it there. Couldnt find it, I was already stressed because of work. Then this one girl who works for transit gave me her compass with 13$ in it and I was just shocked by the generosity from this person. She made me felt so happy.
Now I just gotta spread her kindness outward.

:hi:
I’m at the McDonald’s on Byrne Road. I ordered a fillet o fish with the survey coupon, which gets me a free medium fries and drink with a purchase of a large sandwich. Like last week, the girl at the till tells me it’s free. I was like, “Fuck yeah.” Anyway, I go to fill my drink cup when I remembered what my daughter said to me when I told my her about how I got a meal for free at the Port Kells location last week (same circumstance). She told me, “Someone could get into trouble over this and it’s not like you're a struggling student." She was right, of course. Anyway, she said this to me without being judgemental or in a condescending way. I was pretty proud of her - kind of reminded me of what my wife would have said. So, I went back to the till to tell the gal I should have paid for the sandwich. As it turns out, one of the managers was looking at the coupon.
I paid for the sandwich and put a five dollar bill in the charity box to fix last time’s incident. It was one of those, “WTF were you thinking?” moments. It’s not that I did the right thing, but more about my daughter looking after the old man.
In the end none this would have made a difference or moved mountains............ I feel much better about myself and that means a lot. My wife did a bang up job raising the kids.
I love my garden. I just made some wonton soup. Used green onions from the garden. I tell ya, nothing like fresh veggies from the garden. You know it is as organic as it gets. Did I mention fresh? The flavour is amazing. Soup stock made from scratch, but the secret ingredient is the sliced up chikuwa (fish cake). I wish I had some noodles on hand. Maybe drop an egg or two into the soup. Medium to soft boil.
Oh, that's what I can make in a few days.......... sukiyaki, so I can have raw egg dip. I miss it so muchee.

Finally found the time to hook up a phono stage to my turntable. Up to now, I've had it hooked up via the integrated amp. I stopped listening to vinyl years/decades ago. It's a basic setup. In the den. I recently started going to vinyl record stores. Listened to these powered speakers while there. I thought, wow, no amps and wires to deal with. The speakers are Kanto YU6 (designed by a company here in Coquitlam). Really decent sound for the price. It has a direct phono stage input as well as Bluetooth, 2 Optical inputs and a sub out. They sound amazing, but I went a step further and got me a Rega Phono Stage amp. Man, the music just opens right up. Listening to Harry Chapin Live is a real treat. I can't wait to hear my favourites again. Fresh Aire, Peter Appleyard, classical music (Vivaldi Opera Arias, Baroque, etc.). Right now listening to Canadian Brass. The LP has seen better days, but I can learn to ignore the pops. Ultrasonic record cleaner needed, but $1,000.00, Yikes! I ordered a boxed LP set from Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs. Ultra One Step pressing of Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water. Can't wait to pick it up in Blaine. It better sound good. It set me back $150.00+
The other plus to the Rega is that it has a USB out so you can rip your LP's via a computer using software like Audacity. Oh yeah, I upgraded the cartridge on the turntable to a Nagaoka.
I guess I'm old school. Nothing like listening to good recordings on good ol' stereophonic system. Next........ headphones!
I purchased a monitoring system for my mother-in-law who lives downstairs. She loses balance every now and then, so this monitoring system works well. She wears this pendant that has the ability to call up to three phone numbers if the person wearing it pushes the large button. I have my cell number listed as main contact. It's two way, so I can ask her if she's okay, etc. It's made by Vtech and even though I really dislike products made by them, it fit the bill. It was affordable and only dials the three numbers and not 911. Plus, no monthly fees/costs. Anyway, I've had this thing for just over a year. The pendant is not serviceable. I knew that, but decided it's not a big deal. I can order a replacement when the pendant dies. Well, it died. I looked on the Internet for a replacement. No luck. All sold out and unavailable. Well, fuck. Typical Vtech. They discontinued the product and they don't have any replacements in stock. They never thought about it. Again, typical bullshit from a useless company. Anyway, I took the pendant apart and found out, the battery is a typical Lithium Polymer 3.7 volt 450 mAh battery. Guess what? Can't find it anywhere on the Internet. I ended up going to Lee's Electronics and found one that was very close to the original physical size (slightly bigger). Rated at 500mAh, but that's not a big deal. There are warning labels inside the pendant stating using anything other than the installed battery can cause an explosion. I just finished desoldering the old battery leads and soldered the new battery leads and put everything back together again. It's always good when there are no screws left over.......... (right, Flip?).
Anyway, so happy it all worked out. Oh, and fuck you, Vtech. Less that two years, and you decide to discontinue the product, then to add insult to injury, not offer replacement parts? I know, I know, I should have known better than purchase electronics from a Mickey Mouse company. Oh well, par for the course. And their tech department, lol. Nobody there knows what to do. No idea what an IC is from a capacitor. Sorry........... I shouldn't bitch about Vtech. This is supposed to be positive posts only, so yes, I am very happy it's working again.

Nice. I had to take some time off work which hasn't been ideal but the good news is things are going pretty well now and I should be back soon.
Some of you guys know I'm a long time philatelist and specialize in Canadian mint. Anyway, I noticed I got charged for an item from Canada Post. I have standing orders with Canada Post, so maybe it's something I overlooked, I thought to myself. I double checked the list of newly released products and nothing matched the price tag of the items.
Long story short, I just received an unannounced limited edition uncut press sheet of the recently released, Leonard Cohen commemorative stamps. The uncut press sheet is limited to 2000 copies and even stamp dealers are unaware of it. I have a standing order with Canada Post for specific items. Uncut press sheets being one of them. Sold out, of course, because standing order customers get first crack. The press sheet is in a black, vinyl record, album jacket. How cool is that? Anyway, it was a very pleasant surprise.
BTW, if any of you people are interested in a very cool collection of stamps depicting all the gates of chinatown in Canada, there is a special album that is on Canada Post's website. What's cool is, there's a souvenir sheet in the collection that is only available in that collection. Only 8888 copies were produced and it was thought to be long sold out (it's been quite a while since it was released). Anyway, the souvenir sheet from the collection is imperforate, unlike the field stock, which is a dime a dozen and worth next to nothing. Along with the stamps, the bilingual booklet/album, you get a genuine 200 year old, Qing Dynasty coin (probably worth nothing, but cool nonetheless).
https://www.canadapost.ca/shop/collectors/quarterly-packs-albums/p-341953.jsf;CPO_JSESSIONID=1WWJtHbp3P7k0IBkwb4J4iZw kyw452WLbDKgLH-ix00IBcv_iL4D!-1383087109?execution=e1s1
Collectors pay full catalog prices for the souvenir sheet alone ($190). Yeah, dumb, right?
Anyway, I have multiple copies of it already. If you're interested, just order it before it's really sold out.

Pretty happy with where I am.. but it feels more like a quiet contentment.
Finally got to a company I'm happy with, scored a pretty nice place, and got a decent car to commute in.
It always gets better.
Found that this quiet contentment came with the nagging feeling of wondering if that was all there was to life.
Some personal circumstances have thrown me into a whirlwind... but out of that I've been trying almost anything new and expanding my sense of self.
This time, it's a feeling of confidence knowing that I'm trying my best to make the most out of each moment.
Since the daughter moved out of the house, I've been turning her room into a media room. I purchased an AV receiver that has a whole bunch of amazing features. I also purchased a BD/DVD player that reads just about every digital format under the sun, most importantly, SACD and DVD-Audio (I have a modest collection of audiophile material). I upgraded my Technics turntable with a nicer cartridge and along with it, a Cambridge Audio Duo, external phono stage. My speakers are decent and so is the integrated amp, but they're getting old and lack the newer features. Anyway, back to this AV receiver. Holy carp, I discovered the world of Net Radio. There's the local stations, like QMFM, Sportsnet 650, Jack FM, News 1130, AM730, etc. All in crystal clear quality, but what really blew me away were all the thousands of stations from around the world. Jpop, Kpop, Latin, etc. Right now, I discovered the High Quality listing of stations. 1Mix Radio Trance. I can listen to this stuff all day long. I'm going to find some interesting podcasts. I might even check out some god bless, christian music. I'm not christian, but them guys have some helluva good music, lol. Devil worship and whodoo voodoo shit, as well. Why not? The unit has MusicCast and I can control the unit via my iPhone. I can't wait for Black Friday and Boxing Day. Retired life is good................ I've paid my dues. Time to enjoy life, for a change.

MG mentioned me and this thread so thought I would revive it.
With 2020 being such a shit show, it would be good to see things that make us happy/feel good.
I got a UPS package today that’s been stuck at the depot for a while. Dealing with UPS is such a disaster I’m happy my experience has come to an end lol.
I was able to send my aunt in the Philippines 7400PHP to help with her bills/rent/food while they are under double lockdown there. Feels good that I have gotten my finances to a good place during this pandemic and I’ve been able to help my mom and my aunt.
I also think I won’t be back to work for the next little bit. Summer is pretty slow for us regularly. So I’m happy about that because I can enjoy my summer. Bf goes back to work June 22 and he’s sad our forced time together is coming to an end lol.
Only working 9 days this summer (three 3-day weeks) if nothing important comes up (e.g. second wave of COVID) or I get bored and decide to just get some more of my banked time paid out instead.
Still have about 2 weeks of banked time unbooked as it is.

and, you'll get some deep cleaning done!
I am so relieved that Duffin's Donuts is open again. Also, went to my favourite asian mall yesterday.......... Parker Place. It's like the asian version of Kingsgate Mall. A bit of a shit hole, but oodles of character. Then went to Oomomo (formerly Daiso). Cot Damn, they have this Japanese crepe restaurant there on the upper floor. I didn't get anything, but I'll go when I'm back there again. I haven't been to Daiso (can't help it - it's always going to be Daiso to me) for a really long time. The place just makes me happy. Don't know why, but it does. The other locations, meh. I had a craving for Veggie Pakora, so got some at New Bhaia Sweets. I love their tamarind sauce.
Anyway, retired life is good. Miss the wife so much. I just realized there's nobody to check up on me. Two of my three children moved out. My mother-in-law that I was looking after is now in a long term care home. My mother passed away nearly a year ago. The scary part is, there's nobody to keep me in line. That could be a very dangerous thing.
I have so much work to do. A detached home that needs to be cleaned. The garden alone is a handful. Keeping up with the laundry, dishes, cleaning the bathrooms, etc. I have a long honeydew list.......... I guess I can't call it that anymore. How the hell did my wife do all that?
I'm even falling behind in my hobbies. I have hundreds of boxes full of stamps that I've accumulated over the years (60 years of collecting) that needs to be catalogued, at least fifty small scale model kits that are dying to be built, two uninsured vehicles that I really should clean up and try to sell. Good thing the casino's are closed - that used to take up so much of my time, lol. I wake up anywhere from 3 AM to 3PM. No work, no schedule, no commitments. I can't even volunteer at the places I used to work at. BUT, I still have a big smile on my face. My children are all successful and doing well. My highlights are when I go visit them and drop off stuff. I look forward to one of them calling to say, "Hey, dad, can you fix this for me?" One day, I would love to be a grandfather before I die.............. hurry up, kids!
Everytime I see this commercial, I melt a little inside.
I've never seen the full 60 second commercial. Anyway...........
