I thought the first one was well done for the type of movie it was.

Looks killer. I think the first one was underrated as it was assumed to be an "action" movie when it was intended to be more of a drama. I loved the slow burn and acting in the first one so I can only hope this one betters it. Benicio Del Toro is amazing in this type of role.

Yes first one was fantastic. Del Toro is like my "can do no wrong" actor as of late.

Denis Villeneuve not attached to it. Skeptical.

No Villeneuve + Emily Blunt = mind numbing action flick.
I'll still watch it because I enjoyed the first one, but this will not be as good.

I too am a bit concerned without Denis at the helm. Soldado was never mean't to be a sequel in the original sense. It's a spin off of Del Toro's character, which makes sense, since was the most entertaining character with good support from Josh Brolin. Del Toro is great at these types of roles (The Hunted with Tommy Lee Jones comes to mind). Emily Blunt's character just represents the us, the aloof 3rd party trying to figure out what the hell is going on. She's portrayed as emotionally weak and not cut out for this dirty work.
As far as the gun, it looks to me like he's trying to replicate a bump fire via his finger.

I challenge you to watch Deuces Wild and stand by that statement. :)
