Anyone other Rogue owners out there experiencing poor mileage?
I am averaging 13L/100km mixed city/hwy driving which is fucking terrible. This thing is a pile of shit.

Good friend of mine traded in a Subaru Forester for a Rogue and she now refers to the Rogue as her expensive piece of shit. Hates it.

I beg to differ. I love mine. Picked up a SL during last year's Christmas clearout 5600 dollars off on all SLs. Compared to the crv and rav4, it's the only Japanese crossover with panoramic sunroof and trunk shelving system in 2016, and it undercuts the competition prices when fully loaded.
My only complaint is it's only got 170hp + cvt whereas the completion gets 180-190hp with turbo. But you don't buy a 4 cycl crossover to roast every light, it's a family mover. Unless you spend 70k and get the sq5 or x3m.
I get 12.1L/100km about 450km per tank but that's what you get for city driving + awd I guess.

Sounds about right. Had the same 2.5l engine before in a different car, similar fuel economy. It probably does 18mpg strict city and 27mpg strict highway.

Nissan's Rogue reminds me of Marvel's Rogue:
Saps me of life every time I touch one
I was hoping the Rogue One edition made like everyone else in the movie and died suddenly

Can't really ever expect good gas mileage with AWD...

What was posted/advertised mileage? Maybe if it is really off, get a class action going.

this is also winter..
people usually take a few more minutes in the morning to get out to clear the car.
your heater is on more... your HVAC probably has AC on as default..
which can contribute ..

13L/100km doesn't sound right... I have 5.0L AWD and I get about 14L/100km mixed driving. My car also weights close to 5000lbs... either you're getting really bad mileage or mine is really good.

My similar torsen awd 4motion vw wagen gets 8.9l/100kms. Not sure why yours is that much higher.
Wait it's halidex not torsen
donk.
12-31-2017, 07:44 PM
rofl, its rated for 25MPG mixed. (20MPG real driving)
13L sounds a bit much for what it is.
Care to elaborate on how you use the car?
13L/100km is minivan territory.

I have a competitor's CUV with more horsepower and I'm geting 10.1L with 60 city/40 highway
13L sounds crazy high, your Rogue is either busted or you drive with a leadfoot.

Fuel mileage definitely goes down in the winter time. Check your tire pressures. I think a lot of it comes down to driving style.
My TSX I get maybe 9.5l/100km on the highway. Mixed is much less. 2017 CRV we are averaging 9.5 mixed, and that is best in class. The best i've seen was in my buddies GMC Canyon Diesel. Singing along at average of 7.2l/100km on the highway. Unreal. I want one.

Laughing at how the ~11.7 I got pretty consistently with my Element wasn't bad at all :ilied: aerodynamics of a brick, and I drove with a lead foot, 50/50 highway/city. Had full breathing bolt-ons though, including decat, dunno if that helped at all.
Moved onto a beater Corolla right now and averaging 6.5 so far, loving the minimum trips to the gas station.

Fiancee's sister has the same year Rogue. Fuel economy is definitely not their strong point. Driving quality is also average. I agree that the all wheel drive makes a big difference, especially in the city.

I have a 2017 and I'm on Eco mode 24/7. My average is 11 and I drive city only. It takes me about 5 seconds to accelerate to 50km/h from a red light and I do not use the "Auto" button for the HVAC. That button turns A/C mode 24/7 to control the humidity in the car, so that will consume more gas as well.

my piece of shit Honda 4 banger K-series only does around 24mpg mixed when I drive like a granny while everybody's moms and their civics can get like 600-700km a tank
off-topic, L/100km, whoever came up with one of the dumbest metric any way?

Damn. I don't drive hard, I have a kid in the back so none of that stop light street racing like my old days. I get that winter usually means worse gas mileage but damn this thing drinks gas like this year round.
This might be my last Nissan. It seems that Rogue owners report anywhere from 9-15L/100km on other forums as well. Been back to Nissan and obviously they say everything is fine. Oh well, anyone want to buy this pile of crap?

During my testing with a 2017 Rogue I managed to get about 10L/100km in mixed driving. And goes to about 12 in stop-n-go City. That 2.5L isn't the most fuel efficient.

AWD seems like one big (successful) marketing scheme.
I mean if you're offroading or using it for performance, that's one thing.
But I bet your average consumer out there bought it just because they heard having AWD is more safe. Especially for winter, because it's absolutely necessary for winter, and of course, then you can skip buying winter tires.
You see all these commericals of SUV's driving sideways, slanted up a big hill or man-made obstacle course. Like yeah, when the hell is the average commuter going to be driving up a sloped driveway from the side like that. There's a reason why the ramp starts at the other end...

Does your car calculate avg speed? I feel comparing mpg is kind of pointless without knowing the avg speed you guys are driving at. My mpg is terrible, but I'm also averaging about 23~ km/h. That's pretty much 95% city driving.

You can check Fuelly stats for your Rogue:
Nissan Rogue MPG - Actual MPG from 826 Nissan Rogue owners (http://www.fuelly.com/car/nissan/rogue)
For a 2016 the average appears to be 24.5 or 9.6L/100km so it would appear to be on the high end.
Are you getting that kind of mileage on average for the entire year or just the winter?
I've noticed a huge difference in my own fuel economy summer (26/27 mpg) versus winter (19/22 mpg). Though I'm in Edmonton.

Nissan's in general just get shit gas mileage compared to other cars. My Infiniti G35x averages around 18l/100km in all city driving. I drive with a relatively easy foot as well.

Do you have a concrete barrier in your trunk that you don't know about? Jesus 18L/100km is insane. I had a client complaining that his Pilot is getting 11/100km LOL and he tows and lives on a hill.

funny thing is, this is the smaller motor that was offered in the body style..
I'm looking at 2015+ F150's with the coyote 5.0 in them and its honestly going to be a relief to see the increased fuel milage in a way heavier truck with a bigger motor lol..
