Hey guys, anyone done it recently and could recommend a location for me to go?
I saw a thread a while go and had my bmw tinted by the guys close to Kingsway & Knight/Fraser which was recommended. I didn't think they actually did a good job on it so I would like to try a different place this time for my new car.
TIA!

I've had two of my cars tinted by Roger @ Street Legal Tint & Detail in Port Moody. He's a great guy. Easy going and can cut deals if you pay cash.

If you are ever in richmond go to Yau Bong Auto Glass Ltd on cambie, I have been a customer for years and they do quality work for a great price, plus the skytrain is close by and aberdeen mall is across the street.

i can vouch for street legal. He really takes his time with attention to details. Film "cut line" was right up to the corner edge of the glass it almost looked like factory tint.

Came in this post to make this exact recommendation. He did my BMW maybe 6 or 7 years ago and it held up extremely well. I looked him up when I got my new one last year and had him do it and he again did great work at a reasonable price. Absolutely highly recommended, I wouldn't personally go anywhere else while Roger is around.

+1 for yau bong they tinted my front windows, cut line is almost non existent, customer service was great from the older asian couple working, They pealed my old front window for $20 both sides which i found supprisinly cheap compared previous experiences. Also managed to squeeze me in same day for a great price ( cash negotiable)

As for N-motion that tinted my rears: to be very honest customer service was good but the quality of the tint job was very poor some minor dirt specs and bubbling that has yet to disappear, corners cut when it came to trimming. For pricing ended up paying double the price of my intial quote dude to them having to peel the old tint which eneded up 350 out the door for rears pealed and retinted. To sum up my experience with n-motion i wouldn’t recommend them just due to my past experience. but if u do want warranty they do offer it and will fix anything wrong. Dont get me wrong I have heard and seen from reviews they do good jobs i guess mine just wasnt one of them.

i wouldnt really recommend him as my rear window 5% tint started turning purple within about 3 years. originally he used quality tint for all 3 rear windows, then when he was finishing the rear big window, he scratched the tint himself with a dirty cloth so he had to rip it all off and redo it, with a different cheaper roll. the 2 rear side windows were still black but the rear middle had faded pretty bad.

Would not recommend N-Motion. Very poor workmanship. They burned my b pillar door trim with a heat gun and didn't bother to mention it to me. Had them replace that. Three of 5 windows had to be redone.

didnt enjoy my experience with diplomat window tint in pitt meadows. they tried to quote me higher, almost double, once i arrived in person... apparently hes never seen an e46 coupe before... said my 2 vent windows on the e46 count as seperate doors... meaning double the price because the window was "large"? and also quoted the 2 front doors higher in person because of also "larger" windows... ended up going to a private guy through a referral. an honest guy who does honest work. PM me for a good dude based in port coquitlam.

I prefer to have it done in richmond or anywhere close to the skytrain.

I had my Audi done there 2.5 years ago as recommended by other shops (other tint shops told me to call Nixon at Marine Drive because of the heating elements on the rear windshield)

Nixon was really fast (I walked from there to Marine Gateway to chill for a bit and walked back, around 3 hours total)

I haven't but tint vendors for dealers typically do fast/mass produced work and that doesn't always mean quality.

If you' in that area, I recommend Nixon @ Street Legal on Marine. He's done all my cars and a few people at my store.
He trains a lot of other tinters as well.

So I ended up going with Pedro at Strictly Autotint. He did a really good job. Nice guy, clean shop on Bridgeport.

I was surprised he was able to trace the film right up to the edge on the back door windows when I finally cracked it open to check the other day.

The last time I got tint on another car with Larry, he left a few mm untinted gap at the top.

I went with a guy off facebook based on some recommendations a couple years ago for tint cuz it was super cheap, he did a good job on my friends car but on mine there were some bubbles a few days later he said he'd come fix but he never did/ghosted me... and he showed up with a darker tint than I wanted for the back window since it's big and needs a wider roll... he didn't have the tint level I requested in the wide roll... I decided to still go through with it and still regret it to this day/want to get it redone.

TLDR: Wish I had gone with one of the above recommendations instead!

^ to add to Nixon's capabilities, the shop I work for (Fastsigns) uses him regularly when we need commercial spaces tinted/frosted. Full coverage or cut-out with a pattern/logo, his team is capable and dependable.

He helped out a few times when we were in a pinch with an unrealistic timeline, and he still made it work which is unheard of in our industry.

Yes, there was warranty with this. I'm generally "detail oriented" about my things and am aware that this can make me a difficult customer, which is why I'm asking the collective here. :)

Pic doesn't work, but I got a model 3 tinted for $600, turned out pretty much perfect. Front sides, rear sides, rear c pillar windows plus the giant roof rear window. The guy told me to wait 2 weeks before opening Windows.

Holy cow Larry did my Mazdaspeed3 back in 2003 and I thought he was already nearing retiring age at that time!
