Summer is upon us, I need a new AC for my condo unit since the old one is busted.
When is the best time to buy?
Where can I find the best deals/pricing?
Reliable brands?
Which one do you use?
Merci.

I have a Danby and DeLonghi, both 14,000 btu and they’re amazing.
I bought them both off Craigslist, paired together they keep my 1000sqft, south facing condo cold.
I previously had an LG 14,000 btu, it was trash.
Highly recommend the Danby DPA140HB1WDD.

was gonna post...
yup,i have a Danby AC also that is 10,000 btu and is overkill for a bedroom but i want my place nice and cool when its getting piping hot with a TV on or the computer putting out heating during 30 degree heat waves....def gets insanely warm during those times but the AC cools it perfectly...

Depends on conditions, size of space, and noise tolerance.
Lower BTU units are generally quieter.
Have to account for floor area, ceiling height, how much sun the room gets, how well sealed/insulated the space is, heat-generating devices (computers, TVs, fridges, etc)
If it’s a 225 sq ft, well-shaded, lower floor, well-insulated room with 8’ ceilings, an 8k or 10k unit is more than adequate, for example.
A 400 sq ft room with 10’ ceilings facing south on the 10th floor of a condo building is going to need significantly more cooling capacity as another example.

How come south facing house/window gets hotter? I always is the East and West that's worse.

South gets the most hours of sun in the northern hemisphere.
East gets sun in morning but shade in evening. West gets shade in the morning but sun in the evening.
