Putting it out there that we should organize a photo-meet on one of these weekends in March. It seems its getting warmer out, and hopefully can have some good weather! Just throwing it out there, and was going to put it out there and some different idea's for a meet that we would all enjoy?
I would like to do a landscape/composition/exposure techniques Photomeet?
Last one I was at was in Gastown doing street photography and it was great! And I thought it would be cool to actually teach some techniques that people might not really know? Whatcha think?
Let's hear what other people would like, and when?
Edit: Boys and girls are both invited!.. dogs too!
Cheers!

I would be in but I'm out of town until after Easter.
I'm in if it's for next month. Too busy this month with work and kid being on spring break.

Ernie...you plan this one lol...I'm down if schedule works out
Any proposal on location though?
It's Spring and I guess something outdoorsy-rural is a good idea.
Anyone has a nice spot to cover sunset/landscape? Of course if everyone prefer to stay in the city, I'm cool with that too.

We could do something like Lighthouse Park, Stanley Park (using rock's for fore ground composition), somewhere with cherry blossom madness, Jericho Beach area.
I could do a bit of a presentation on composition on my laptop at a cafe first, and then we can go in the field and shoot. Just an idea :)

So, Hehe and myself have been brain storming idea's that we can do for the next meat!
Date: Saturday May 5, 2018
Choice 1: Bikes and camera's at Stanley Park, meet around 5pm or so and we can bike around the park to some different spots and learn some landscape composition. I have some lee filters and nisi stuff also that i don't mind sharing. If people have a tripod and/or filters also that would be amazing.
Choice 2: Astro photography. Meet at 7pm somewhere around town and drive upto Porteau Cove and learn to take some "astro" photography. Will be a late night of course because driving, shooting and then driving back.
What does everyone think? What one would people prefer?
I vote for choice 2. :D
Ernie will start a new thread later on. Let's go out for some shooting!

Can astro photography include pics of my car?

I don't see why not if the parking spot can get enough view to the sky.
No one wants to join?
Hahaha... I think I'm going out to shoot something this weekend either way.
Anyone else wanna go? I'd be in my Mini... so if someone wants to catch a ride between South Surrey and wherever we are heading, I don't mind picking you up.

what day are you thinking? I've been to Porteau Cove so many times I really don't want to go there lol
Moonrise on Saturday is at 1:07am

I was looking to go somewhere without too much light pollution in the golden/blue hour (7:30PM-9:07PM) for landscape and some preparation for astro.
I checked with PhotoPill and milkyway should be visible between 12:46-3:26AM although visibility is low because of moon. Our time really is that short period before moonlight becomes too dominant.
Thus, I'm not sure if staying until late is a good idea unless we can plan something enough to kill 3hrs.

I work till 8pm on Saturday, we could walk and shoot around UBC campus. I borrowed a friends 28 f/2 I want to try before I buy. Or do a walk from brittania shipyards to steveston
Well, I'd do as I said... to go out shooting and have some fun.
For anyone who got nothing to do and wanna come out shooting some pictures, send me a PM of your Whatsapp account and we'd arrange everything from there.
@Matsuda Wanna do some shooting downtown/gastown?

Ended up walking around on Granville island with Matsuda (Bill) and Speed2k (Alex). It was fun and weather was super great! Bill was demoing the high-iso prowess of A7III by basically handhelding the entire way... :fuckthatshit:
And damn their rides were nice. Alex's S2k CR is fucking HOT!!!
Haven't gotten time to go through all the pics... but here are a few, these are all done with Konica Hexanon 50mm F1.2 on A7II:
