What previous vehicle do you regret trading/selling away?

IF you could turn back time and go against a decision you made to trade/sell off a car you previously had...which one would that have been?
POST a photo/video of that car AND reason for selling/trading it AND why you regret it now!
for me, out of my 17 vehicle history it would most definitely be the 3G TL-S 6MT.
reason for trade: needed a SUV / automatic transmission so i can haul more shit and relax in stop n go traffic.
why i regret it now? TL-S is pure sex on wheels.

My first car, 1977 Jeep J10 "Honcho" if your Acura was sex on wheels, the Honcho was hillbilly "Deliverance" sex on wheels. It was loud and kinda rusty but was an amazing 4x4 and was endless hilarity to drive. When I drove it, I was living at my folks house in the University Endowment Lands. There were a few uptight neighbours that really did not like that truck, it brought down the tone of the neighbourhood.
Pic is not my truck because I owned it in 1989, no iPhone snaps back then.

One day on a whim I went to the auto auction in Surrey (in the 1979 Z/28 my folks bought me at 17...what the eff were they thinking??) to check out the action at the car auction. This rusty, loud old Jeep pickup came across the block and I loved it, so I started bidding. One thing led to another and I ended up winning the auction for it with a high bid of $1,300, which wouldn't have been a problem if I had $1,300. And before anyone makes any comments, this isn't the sort of mess that my parents would have bailed me out of. There was a huge sign on the back wall of the auction building that said "NO PERSONAL CHECKS"...so I asked the auction guy if he'd take a personal check. He gave me an exasperated look and told me he'd go check with his boss. As soon as he left, I legged it out of there and was spraying dirt all the way out of their auction yard in the Z/28. Regardless, I got home and was bummed because I still kinda wanted the truck so I went and grabbed the Buy & Sell and started looking for them in there. Lo and behold there's a really familiar looking J10 listed so I call the guy, he says he still has it, I arrange to meet him the next day. I go and meet him, it's the same truck, he tells me that he'd given up on trying to sell it, had taken it to auction and that some asshole had bid on it then took off without buying it. I commiserated, what kind of asshole would do that anyway?! End of story, $800 later the truck was mine. I wish I still had it.
Dad purchased an '88 E30 325i for me to use in high school but it was then given away to my older sister who then proceeded to fuck that car up by reversing the polarity when jump starting it and we could never get it running right again.

Lots of vehicles I wish I treated better, but only one I truly regret selling. My Mitsubishi minicab. Sold it too cheap as well. Dunno why I did it, but it was a somewhat hard sell. 2 cylinder 550cc air cooled pushing 25hp when new. No one wanted that. Sold because I had that and a ruckus. Didn’t make any sense having two vehicles that couldn’t reach 100kmh. Eventually sold the ruckus as well to put down payment on a focus ST

I miss the looks and build quality of my 97 C4S.
The car I miss the most is my 00 Acura 3.5RL 110kms, dark blue on grey leather. Like new condition bought from original owners. I would drive one again as a cruiser.

I don't completely regret selling this as the pros outweighed the cons at the time but it would be nice to own another one as I know what to expect when it comes to maintenance and patience with these things. Also RWD sport sedans have all moved up market and out of my price range (not to mention way too much tech for my liking).
Got a lot of looks, tons of compliments and the car felt much more smaller than its size and with near 50/50 weight distribution, it was damn impressive on the back roads. Dialed in Koni Yellows FTW.

Now I just embrace the sleeper life
:okay:
PS: Never got in trouble for the front plate and that's with 3 years of owning it. I won't do it again though. Car was originally an AB car, then I installed the GXP bumper so it never had a front plate mounted to it.

I don't "miss" it in that I wish I had it again (I haven't driven a car regularly in over 10 years) but I do have fond memories of it. So many road trips, nice stereo system until it got stolen, and I just like the clean look of it.
Cars today are so flashy and ugly, I will ALWAYS miss the early 90's Japanese cars.
Sold it because I was leaving the country. On RS actually. Dude waited until the last minute and lowballed me when we met up. I learned not to tell potential buyers I have a deadline to sell something, and oh don't sell expensive things on Revscene LUL

good thread
but chances are your spouses won't let you keep so many toys or that you couldn't own your current, better vehicle today if you never sold it (whether finances or have the space for it)
so don't fret
kinda reason why I hope to keep what I have until the wheels fall off
If I could go back in time, I think I would've liked to keep my LS 240sx. Sold it to finance the wedding, but the car would've probably gave me more drama than a wife, so it was for the better. The 240 will always be the car I fall back to - it was just such a great car compared to anything else I've driven. Sold it to a fella in Calgary and apparently the motor blew.. Poor thing. Still.. can't say I don't miss this thing.

#1 - 2007 Subaru STI Limited (#106 of 800) - Always wanted the Scooby burble and this thing had it in spades including backfire yet comfortable with a moonroof and leather seating. Suspension remained stock as I took trips up to TYAX near Pemberton and needed clearance and comfort. Bolt-ons with COBB make it a nice drive with ample power. I miss it and regret selling only because of the rarity. The car stopped working with my life with kids(small back seat) so I sold it.
https://i.imgur.com/mHqSy7l.jpg
#2 - 2006 Mitsubishi Evo IX GSR - After the STI I had to experience the Evo to do my own comparison. Wanted the IX specifically and was stoked to actually find one locally and in white. Monster power compared to the STI and loved the body style but the shifting was garbage and the overall car felt cheaply built(fit and finish). Again, sink more money into it or sell, so I sold.
https://i.imgur.com/vnVxFrG.jpg
#3 - 2000 Toyota 4Runner - Wanted this year specifically for the AWD mode and rear e-locker. Loved this thing as a daily but the fuel mileage is the worst I've experienced. I don't commute that far so it wasn't a huge deal so the modding began. Many $$$ later I had a very capable machine. Then realized that I was doing a disservice by only going to Triangle Beach every so often and not really using it as it should be for long off-road trips. I wanted to hang onto it until my girls got older but couldn't bring myself to just let it sit so I sold it.
https://i.imgur.com/A1YHv5s.jpg
I regret selling each vehicle but they each stopped working within my life both from a cost and practical standpoint so it was the right decision for them to be passed on. I get very attached to vehicles so selling them is a tough procedure for me.

I’ve had a few, but only the Z I truly miss, with the “barn find” 964 a close second.
Found the 240Z on Hybridz late one night May 2011. Emailed the seller in Seattle, and met up in Bellingham to have a look. As soon as I heard it, without even seeing it, I knew I was going to buy it. The sound was glorious. But being a poor university student at the time, didn’t have the funds to buy it on the spot. My offer shaved a few thousand off his already lowered price, and he said he’ll think about it.
Fast forward 2 months, haven’t heard back so I followed up. He still had it, and I was still the only one to show up with cash. He didn’t want to deal with shipping the car or international buyers so agreed to sell it to me and we went down to pick it up. Still remember that first drive up I5 to the border – exhaust fumes were nauseating, shifter had more slop than a hot dog in a hallway, and my buddy following behind nearly passed out from the gasoline vapours as it was, afterall, a triple 44mm. carbureted 3.1L stroker motor – with a 3” straight pipe exhaust.
https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/379371_10150844883159353_753687498_n.jpg?oh=3b02da f7d816060b70471ae9252d39e9&oe=5B2F91E4
I loved absolutely everything about the car. Created so many amazing memories, met so many new friends , and learned so much mechanically from fabricating the mounts for fitting the Recaro SPGs, dropping the fuel tank to replace the rotted fuel lines, and upgrading to 4 piston 4Runner calipers. I could count on it to bring a smile to my face at every start-up. Even walking by it on my way out the door to class, I’d have the biggest grin. That’s my car.
Bill (Matsuda) at Art of Stance did a wonderful feature on it in the summer of 2012. I’ve linked some of his pictures below.

http://www.artofstance.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/DSC_4102.jpg
Then in winter 2012, I went out to Ottawa for an 8 month co-op workterm. Knowing that classic cars do not like to sit, I threw it up for sale at a crazy price just to make myself feel better for letting the car sit. Someone actually responded and I flew back to complete the sale. At the time, I figured I’d get another, and the buyer was a really great guy, another true enthusiast. We all know the feeling of the one that got away. Shoulda woulda coulda.
He still has it to this day. Unfortunately, he blew a hole through the side of the block while tracking it in 2016. Until then, I’ve pestered him every year since to sell it back to me, I finally had my closure. The heart of that car, and what I fell in love with, is now gone. As a final parting goodbye, I asked for the wooden Datsun knob back. In the spirit of true friendship, he packed it up without hesitation and sent a piece of the Z back to me.

Lots of cars have come and gone, mostly german. Some new and some old. I love mixing it up, so I don't really regret moving on to something I want to try. Can't own everything I want to have at the same time.
but...i miss my Corrados - timeless design that came out right when I was at the most impressionable car age.
Unfortunately as much as I'd love to have another one - just to look at more than anything, there's no going back to FWD and I can't give up a limited parking space for one.

I couldn't afford a corolla from the same year so I ended up leasing this Sentra with the help of my parents co-signing. Drove it for 200ks and finally got rid of it in 2010 after keeping it as my beater through all these years.

2008 Miata GT. Bought it in 2013 for $20,500 with only 22K km on it, sold it two years later for $20K with only 26K km on it to help pay for a house. Missed it enough that I bought a NB as a fill in that I didn't like as much (I sold that after 9 months).
Even now a 2008 GT with that kind of mileage goes for not much less than $20K.
I'm kicking myself as I didn't really need the extra money for the house.
There are so many S2000s in this thread :(

Easy solution:

Even without a wife to worry about, I can't get an S2k because back seats are good to have just in case I want to hang out with my buddies.
Personally, I miss something about my previous cars, but no real regrets. The 08 Accord Coupe V6 is much more torquey, while the 99 Corolla is very good on gas and I won't feel bad about driving short trips with it.

Have a wife and kid. Wife doesn't want me to sell the s2000. That's why I married her. :fullofwin:

Haha I honestly think I'm just lucky and also things lined up.
My wife has an older brother who is really into motorcycles and an older sister who owned an s15 (my wife and her family are Japanese). My wife is not into motorcycles/cars like her older siblings but definitely appreciates them.
When my wife got pregnant, I really contemplated selling the s2000 for a family vehicle. My wife didn't want to sell it because she enjoys the convertible in the summer and we used to go on quite a few cruises. She said I shouldn't and gave me several reasons for it.
A little while later I got lucky as a close friend of mine, her dad was getting rid of a Sienna. I was able to grab it off of him. :)
