A number of injuries are being reported after pedestrians were struck by a white van in Toronto, police say.
Toronto police said the incident happened around 1 p.m. on Monday in the area of Yonge Street and Finch Avenue.
“Reports were that a white van mounted the curb, drove down the sidewalk at southbound Yonge, south of Finch, and struck eight to 10 people possibly, the numbers aren’t confirmed yet,” Toronto police spokesperson Gary Long told Global News.
Police said between eight and 10 people have been injured. The extent of the injuries is unknown.
Van took off after hitting the people.

As I said before in the shooting thread... gun is not the problem... these sick people are.
Yet one possible explanation has emerged online that suggests Minassian was angry over being rebuffed by women.
A Facebook post by a man with the same name and the same photo as the one that appears on Minassian's LinkedIn profile refers to the "Supreme Gentleman Elliot Rodger," a 22-year-old responsible for a deadly rampage in Isla Vista, Calif., that left six people dead and a dozen more injured.
In a video posted ahead of that 2014 attack, Rodger raged about a number of women turning down his advances, rendering men like him "incels," a term that stands for "involuntarily celibate."
Rodger referred to the men who always seemed to win with women as "Chads" and the women who turned men down as "Stacys."
Pretty crazy. All the media outlets this morning were talking about some royal kid who was just born but then a couple of hours later. the attack happened. Needless to say, news of the birth dropped to merely a headline blip as the media went from happy and ecstatic to somber and joyless.
If this had happened in the US, the suspect would have been dead.

There was a white male shooter who killed 4 people at a Waffle House in Antioch who got disarmed by James Shaw Jr and he was apprehended alive.
The guy referenced Elliot Rodger as the “Supreme Gentleman” in his last fb post. Rodger was a 22 year old virgin who felt deep scorn for women and despised men who were popular with women. He went on to kill and injure a number of people before taking his own life. What’s interesting is Elliot’s shooting spree happened on May 23rd 2014, exactly four years and 1 month to the day. Crazy that guys feel so rejected and alone they must be in a real lonely place to have this much hatred.
