how it goes is that after spiderman free'd himself from the symbiote (aka venom) - it found the host eddie brock

since it took spiderman as its first host - it also took in the powers that spiderman had as well.. well in a sense it mimic'd it

eddie brock was a reporter same as peter parker

IMO this actor playing Venom is way better than the first one in the movies.

in the comics spiderman found the symbiote in the "secret wars" saga somewhere in space and brought it back with him.

Took it to Mr Fantastic and found out it was trying to bound with him. They caged it, it escaped and it found Eddie Brock

Trying to follow Deadpool it looks like. A "good" bad guy. When in reality he was just a bad guy. Guess you can't market bad guys though. To the purists, this is gonna be sub par, but to the casual will be ok I guess.

They should've just made it into a action/horror like predator. Bunch of soldiers and scientists get sent to a military base that's been locked down. Eddie gets a tip and in an attempt to rebuild his career, sneaks into the base. Chaos ensues and everyone dies. Final clip is a silhouette of spiderman swinging into the base.

That's a pretty decent plot that I'd watch IF I had no idea it was supposed to be in the Marvel universe (hard to do since Marvel likes to flaunt that their movie is Marvel)

It'd be better if we the audience had no idea that it was a Venom movie, much like how Split was a sequel to Unbreakable Like you said, military science base with some solders "cleaning up the mess" only to get killed. Movie follows Eddie around as he investigates and avoids the shadow killing all of these solders.

Climax is Eddie getting got by the shadow. But instead of getting killed, he goes through his transformation as he shrinks down out of the camera's view. Venom's face rises up from screen bottom. SCREEN TO BLACK

Nah, Venom was originally an anti-hero. He had it out for Spiderman/Peter Parker because he thought he was cheated out of stuff, but ultimately Brock was someone who basically wanted to do good. At least in original canon. And that's what I'm assuming they're basing this movie off of.
