The Z mount uses a large 55mm inner diameter and a 16mm flange focal distance that allow for apertures as fast as f/0.95 and a slim body design. It also opens the door to other lens properties that weren’t previously possible with Nikon’s F mount

only took 5 years

At least it "only" took 5 years.

Canon still doesn't even have a 1/2 decent answer to the mirrorless game, and their sensor is garbage too.

I suspect the A7iii is still the better buy at the same price point because:

native mount lens selection (included 3rd party)
it's a 3rd gen product so it's bound to be more polished than the Nikon
sony eye-af has no competitor in any other brand

That said, this makes the $2000 mirrorless-FF sector much more interesting to watch going forward, and because of that the high end APSC mirroless sector (Fuji XT series, Sony a6500) EDIT: will only get cheaper.

Today's announcement is great news all around.

it doesn't also have the pinout for standard SD cards?

Unknown, but it seems to be XQD-oriented. Single slot too, not dual XQD or XQD/SD on one.

Neat!
I personally rather buy a Sony mirrorless camera just because I want something different...
This is still sweet though.

Is it just me or do they currently seem cheaper than before? I remember XQD cards were around 300 or so back when I was shopping around for one a few years ago. Either way, it's still pretty pricey.

$350 bucks for a 128GB
I mean with the res and video 128gb is pretty average? But still a 64GB it's $200 bucks seems like a lot
