Water plumbing service over charged

We had some water work done. But they sent someone new that the job took over 4 hours and billed us 800.

Tried contacting them with their manager. They are not oweing up to their mistake.

What can i do this point now? Calling credit card company denied the payment?

i think you'd have to call your credit card company to see what they protect against.

what mistake was made? did the guy cause damage or had to redo the work more than once due to his error, or did he just take longer than you think it should?

We live in a condo. We were changing the clothes washing machine. We notice the water switch to spin on and off and connects a holes to the machine is broken. So the job is really turn off master switch. Replace the switch that turns on off and thats it. And it took 4 hours plus. The worker seems inexperience perhaps training

Sounds like you didn’t do your due diligence and hired a contractor who either A) didn’t know what they were doing or B) the job involved more than you expected.

Did you agree upon a price before? Did you ask what was involved and how long it would take?

Inviting trades into your home and having them do work without doing the former pretty much opens yourself up to being charged whatever they see fit. And if he was actually there for 4 hours, the pricing may be in line with the work and time spent.

Should have locked him your house, called the police and made sure to catch it on video to put on YouTube

Seriously though, If you didn't get a quote or at least an estimation of how long it would take then like hondaracer said you don't have much to go on.

If it's really worth it to you, you can take the time to take him to small claims build you'd have to build a case as to why it shouldn't have taken as long as it did to do the work. Considering that you're not a plumber, it'd be a bit of an uphill battle for you.

They probably did send you a new guy or apprentice. If he was there for 4 hours, then that's what you pay. Should've got a quote first.

It may have been an overcharge but it’s really not that far fetched.

Call out plumber = min $100 an hour

A new laundry box and fixtures/fittings could be easily $200+
