You remind me of my dad as well as many other Chinese parents when talking about food. First 2 things that come out of their mouth is cheap and large portions. How about we focus on the food actually tasting good lol
Btw Kens is not pretty good, it's pretty bad...

Exactly! It's like going to AYCE Japanese food vs a Japanese restaurant that I like. When I go to the latter, I order what I want and it's usually not more than the cost of AYCE and I haven't stuffed myself. EleGiggle

If you want cheap and huge portions, then go to any Chinese food court like the one in Yaohan after 6 or 7pm and they'll be clearing out their stuff for cheap.
^i used to do that when i was younger. super cheap, huge amount of food. quality was meh, but better than white food court chinese food for sure.

Not quite near where you are looking for. But I find the Main St Congee Noodle house on Broadway and Main to be one of my favorites. The food tastes pretty damn good too. I eat a lot and I find there's always enough to take home...

If OP is thinking of Ken's Kitchen quality, then this ^ (Yaohan food court) for sure. $5 per container, buy 3 and get 4th free. Hard to beat!

My go to for cheap-ish, large, tasty Chinese food would be along kingsway Joyce area would be:
Congee Noodle King
Honolulu
Crystal Mall food court
A bit more expensive, smaller portion but tastier would be:
Happy Date
Old Xian Noodle

Ken's Chinese Restaurant is on Kingsway
Kent's Kitchen is on Victoria Drive
Don't get the two mixed up. But regardless of which one, since when did they have buy 3 get 4th free?

6:00pm - too early
6:30pm - depends
7:00pm - when they start doing $24 for 3 dishes
7:30pm - some might do $24 for 3 dish + 1 noodle or rice

I meant this as in what Imasa said, Yaohan food court. I was there less than 1/2 a year ago and when you catch them in the last 30 mins, $5 each and buy 3 and get one free. Not a whole lot of choices but ...

Fuck i miss Kam Do on Alexandra road, that place was my go to for big eats for small price. Silver Tower is still pretty legit for portion size for a good price, food aint that bad.
The One Cafe on Kingsway still gives big portions for the fried rice, and there's always crystal mall, kingspark in the mall has good portions for around 8 dollars

Have not tried but I've heard feedback from at least 10 people and not a single person said it was good or even just ok. Take that with a grain of salt though as everyone has different tastes and you'll never know until you try yourself.

I'd rather go to Congee Noodle or Honolulu if I'm in that area.
