:( I was a big Prodigy fan back in the 90s

I liked Prodigy a lot back in the day. Their music was cool and different at a time when we were looking for something other than the Spice Girls and the Dave Matthews Band. Flint always freaked me out with his look and actions. The horn hair and his twitchy actions... He had a real presence to him.

It's a fuken shame that these people are taking their owns lives. It really is.
:(

RIP.

90's were an amazing fucking time,The prodigy,the smashing pumpkins,Nirvana.

Sad i didn't get to experience prodigy live since i was a big fan of "smack my bitch up" way back when..it's still a classic.

fucked up when all these million dollar artists are offing themselves due to depression or drug use...the prodigy had a huge line up for touring too till this happened :/

RIP.
There has been a very noticeable increase in suicides in older men (or at least it appears to be.) The world is a hard to deal with place.
Very sad.

Pretty sad to see another one go.... Prodigy wasn't grunge but suicides have taken almost all the grunge singers. There are almost no grunge singers left.

I feel like we were egging them on. They wrote and performed the songs that they did because they had issues. Instead of recognizing these issues, expressing concern and getting them help.... we asked them for more. These songs come from a dark place...

I often bring this up with the GF because she loved her 90's grunge and I loved my 80's/90's hair metal (GnR, Poison, etc). They all do drugs but for different reasons, my guys do drugs to party but her guys do drugs to escape. When someone like Slash survives an OD, he's going to say, "oops, took too much" but Scott Weiland would say, "dammit, didn't take enough"

I didn't really listen to grunge growing up because it didn't resonate with me but I do now because it's just damn good music. I hope Eddie Vedder keeps going for years to come.

im not a bboy, but I did start out with breaking first when i got in to dance (I was just wayyyyy to weak for freezes and power moves) and we would listen to a lot of prodigy/break beats

they were pretty much the creators of break beats, its sad to see him go

It has been claimed Flint had fallen into depression after his split with Kai forced him to put the couple’s farmhouse on the market.

IB2Soon, but I saw this posted somewhere the other day and thought it was funny enough to share.
Side note, I had just watched the original firestarter video, so it was fresh in my mind.

RIP Keith Flint. Easily my favorite track from them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVqyKeNYot4

The drawn out synth that starts at 1:35 and the full drop at about 2:13 :sweetjesus: :sweetjesus:

Also the end credit track for one of my favorite movies Event Horizon.

Since we're sharing favourite Prodigy songs, here's mine

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Di_LQrQKPM0

Listening to this on road trips with a pair of 15" subs (before they got stolen) pounding that drop after the nice intro... Brings back many memories.

This is from their second album and I think most people missed it, so check it out if you haven't SeemsGood

Here it is live with Keith dancing inside a bubble

Music wise I think it was all Liam, but Keith and Maxim brought the act together. Not sure what they were doing after 1998 or so though so I can't say for sure LUL

I hadn't seen anything from the Prodigy for a long time. But ended up in a youtube workhole the other day and was surprised to see that they have been releasing new music for years. Their new album was released a few weeks ago, and it's actually really cool.

My favorite video and tune from their new album (can I still call it that?) "The Day is my Enemy"

I can't recall correctly but when this video came out it lasted something like 2 days on late night tv before it got banned and it caused a major stir world wide. It also continually gets banned from youtube to this day which is kind of ridiculous at this point since by today's standards it is pretty tame.
