asmr......i really dont get it/understand it? watching ppl eat while they whisper/not talk at all, i dont get it? and ppl actually make money from this

i have seen a few mukbang before where ppl just eat talk, it wasnt really that bad and it seems kinda casual (kinda makes me thing i can do it too, large portions of food and u just eat talk)

asmr is just odd and im hoping someone can give me on insights to what it is (yes today new gen ppl are just in to stuff weird stuff like this)

ASMR is a strange concept to grasp for me. From what ive been told when I asked a friend about it is that some people dont enjoy to eat alone because it makes them uncomfortable or lonely. Hence the reason ASMR and Mukbang videos exist. The main reason people enjoy "ASMR" is through certain sounds being made in the videos that seems to calm or enlighten people while they eat their food, or study or do whatever.

Not that weird if you think about it. Some sounds are pleasing to the ear and mind(rain) just like some that are not(nails on chalkboard).

Mukbang, there are different types, the ones who eat an enormous amount of food and the ones that just eat a delicious meal. One is like watching a sport while the latter is more like surrogate satisfaction(i dont know the correct term)? Kind of like watching porn, why do you watch two strangers fuck each other?

No idea.... but from time to time some weird video pop up on youtube where you see a girl eating food that's meant for like 10 people. Don't know how they can eat all the food and most of the time girls are super skinny asian that's doing it.
