What I don't understand is why would someone who claims to "hate Chinese" live in a city and a condo building that is full of Chinese? It's like saying "I hate Japanese" and moving to Tokyo. Little taken back by the responses in this thread. There is no doubt that the internet has created a safe space for closet racists and bigots to spew out hate. When people spit out hate on the internet behind a user name or a private profile on social media, they think they're invincible. Free speech allows you to say whatever you want, when you want but what do we do to hold people accountable for their speech? If you want to spit out hate, by all means. But there are consequences. If hateful people knew the reality of these consequences, we would have a lot less open racism.

Open racism is on a rise. There's no doubt about that. Yes, every city, every country has some form and level of racism; it's human nature. But I can confidently say, Vancouver has been fairly controlled when it comes to outlandish, racist behaviour in the last decade or so. It isn't until recently, for reasons unknown to me, that we are seeing a rise in seeing and experiencing racist rants from Caucasians.

The Status Quo has been been changing for quite some time and we are reaching the tipping point I suppose. 10-15 years ago, as I look to the left and right on my neighbourhood, I would see white and white. Today however, the tables have turned and it's the white neighbour who looks to his left and right and sees colour and colour. This is threatening for some people. It is perceived as a power shift to some people. So they act out. The way we treat one another when we feel like the underdog is far different from when we are on top. Especially, if you were on top your entire life.

I said the same thing to my wife last night. Most of these ppl aren't quick enough to come up with something witty so they go for the low blow.

The bloody kabuki cab guy had me pushed up against a wall in an empty concrete alley with my shirt collar. All 5’4” of him against my 6’2” frame. Not a wince of fear from his puny little black eyes. All in the name of 60 won for his scam. His buddy wasn’t near as convincing. Must have been new. Lol.

Ever try going into one of those markets (Pearl market in Beijing, or Science and Tech in shanghai)? It makes going through a Mexican market feel like whole foods. Aggressiveness to the Max. I don’t know about Koreans, but my scale is

I've grown up with immigration being a regular thing. From the days when it was Croatians, then the Persians came. Then the indo Canadians, then Hong Kong, and now it's the Chinese.

Most of us understand that immigration is necessary to the growth of our country. We see the xenophobia and what it has done to Japan. We don't want that.

But there has to be some leeway in how people perceive both immigrants, and also those who were born here. I don't agree with personal attacks or aggression to other humans based on skin color. But cultural differences are a whole other level. I can't be faulted for disagreeing with the way middle eastern men treat their women. I can't be faulted for being offended when some Russian is being rude to me. I can't help but be disgusted when someone from China hocks a loogie on the ground just the same as when some redneck douche from Chilliwack does it. For me, it's not skin color. It's the differences in family, culture, ideologies, politics, raising kids..... it's so far beyond simple skin color.

They're type 2s. The spokes on the 2s split the bolts around the outside. The spokes end before the bolts on type 1s. Either way, some of the best aftermarket BMW wheels ever made.
