Well...we need to transfer some money to a person in Taiwan.

They don't have paypal, bitcoin etc
Just an older folk with a local bank accounts...
What would be the easiest way to send money to them?
It is not a huge sum, about $2-3K CAD

I have their bank account number, bank name & address and I looked up the bank SWIFT code.
But their account name is in chinese letter only.

Can I just go to my local branch (CIBC, HSBC) and give them these info to do the transfer? What do I do with the beneficiary name in chinese tho?

As far as I know, details should all be in English when sending money overseas.

If the name is in Chinese, you might want them to go to their bank and double check their information for international wires.

I assume it would still work if the name is a bit off since you have the account number, but the money might end up being held and the receiver will have to go in to verify information.

If they bank with CTBC, there are a few branches in Vancouver that can provide more information.
