Most people don't talk about network series when they bring up TV shows, it's all about cable and streaming - HBO and Netflix. Networks usually just have simple serials, like brain candy to pass the time when doing other things. Not horrible, but not worth talking about.
Once in a while, a network show of such good quality will come around that is worth talking about... Last really good one for me was The Good Wife, which I started a thread on a long time ago (and they spun that off into a streaming show which is even better in some ways)
Aaaaaanyway, the latest really good network series IMO is Evil on CBS. I later found out it is made by the same show runners as The Good Wife, so it's not too surprising that I enjoy it so much. More than anything, it's just such a high quality TV show. Well written, well acted, well produced.
I urge anyone looking for a show to watch to check it out if you've passed on it. The premise is a psychologist is hired by a Catholic priest recruit to join him on his job of determining if strange occurrences are potentially demonic, and something the church needs to deal with.
I don't want to spoil anything, but I will say the best thing about the show is how they slowly trickle in the supernatural elements, to the point where practically everything that would normally be "obviously supernatural" in a lower quality show has you thinking "hmm, there is actually an explanation for this". And then it just gets more and more intense. And the antagonist omg he is the most fucking vile character I've ever seen on a network show.
Anyone who's checked out more than a few episodes, I'd like to hear what you think!
