Some good ones, while others plain suck ass.

I, for one, am glad that Walking Dead is finally going to die. The latest spin off looks promising. Fear the Walking Dead is still around.

Trying to get into this CBC's War of the World. Too early to judge, but speaking French.......... nut said. And what's with white subtitles against snow?

Hope Star Trek Discovery develops into something special.

War of the world's isn't bad, watched it beginning of the year, it's a bit of a different take than previous war of the worlds

Only 8 episodes though

Looking forward to "his dark materials" season 2 :/

MG1

What? CBC just started airing it.

I guess on other channels it aired early.

I'm so hoping Twilight Zone is worth watching. The first one wasn't bad, but the reviews are bad.

As for Star Trek Discovery, please tell me that the obnoxious red head get's blown into space.

And let's hope the final season of Walking Dead doesn't end up like that disappointment of the century "Lost." I guess writers hit a wall and things go off the rails.

I remember this series called Due South. When it first came out, it was hilarious. Canadian Mountie working with this Guido, Amurican Cop in NY? Anyway, it was good for a season or two, then it went full on retard - just like Lost.

I'm looking forward to Magnum PI. It took me a while to get over no Tom Selleck and Higgins being a chick, but I like it. A simple man's show. I like shows where you don't have to think too much, lol.

I wAnder what happened to that other zombie show...... the one where there's a cure for zombie ness. Dude's name is Murphy. It was so bad, I had to watch every episode to see how bad it'll get. It's one of those cult things.

Can't for the life of me remember what is was called I haven't seen it in quite some time. I guess it got canned.

StylinRed

Ah it's a euro show, that aired in the US beginning of the year or was it late last year, anyway watched it on YouTube TV when I gave it a trial subscription

Haven't seen walking dead or fear the walking dead in several years, I'm surprised they're still on!

MG1

It's a SyFy produced show. One of the characters is the guy with the huge nose. Citizen Z.

Found it (just googled it).

Z Nation, lol.

Riiiiiiight........... the one with the weird chick in the silicone cat suit.

Androgynous looking robot, but pregnant. Been watching it, but not sure what to make of it. Depicts religion well.

Warrior is on season 2 now. Produced by Justin and written by Bruce Lee or at least the premise was. Great show in one of my favorite channels Cinemax which brought us glodies like Banshee.

It's time they brought back Miami Vice. I'll be happy as long as there's a white Ferrari and the bad guy dies in a shoot out in every episode. Oh and that 80's music is a must too... screw it, I'll just watch those Blurays I bought a few years back... still wrapped too

MG1

Nash Bridges, man. And that sidekick, Chachi or chichi or whatever his name was, lol.

He was great in that horror movie. You know, the guy who touts in front of Titty Twisters. "From Dusk Till Dawn".

Did someone say poosey?

Cheech from Cheech and Chong? LOL Nash Bridges was a tame Miami Vice. It's just Don Johnson with a black partner... I think there was an episode where Tubbs made an appearance as a cop from NY... essentially the his character from Vice... lol

Started watching the fourth season of Fargo last night. Looks promising. Haven't been disappointed with this series yet. Though I'm not sure Chris Rock was the best guy to cast for his role. Too early to tell though.

Lovecraft country is pretty cool

The narrative of "white man bad" is starting to wear me out. I like the show and the concept but not every episode needs to be exposition on the history of injustice as perpetuated by white devils.

Punching upward is fine, but the strongest episode was the one set in Korea where EVERYONE got to be the bad guy. Black, white, Korean, American, Communist, men, women, etc.

Its definitely something I'd recommend checking out as its a cool concept, but I've come to expect it in every episode and its a relief when they get it out of the way so they can move on with the plot.

Switching gears, I've heard that the season finale or whatever of Blacklist was pure crap due to the pandemic. Some sort of action comic with narration from the actors. I'm thinking TV will be like this for a while. Bad, and trying to find ways to adapt to not being able to film as they would expect.

I've been watching a lot of stuff I normally wouldn't watch, or never watched while it was on TV. Gossip Girl, Psych, even 90 Day Fiance. Also, some of the foreign Netflix stuff like Dark.

TV is gonna be bad for a while, at least until we all get back from the pandemic.

Lovecraft Country
Raised by Wolves (my personal favorite new series on HBO)
The Boys
The Mandalorian (Guess this isn't quite new at this point)

Not new at this point, and is now cancelled, but I've heard people talking about The Expanse a lot, in terms of good Sci Fi. I watched a few episodes from the first season, and just couldn't get into it.

MG1

Ok, gonna make an effort to watch this Lovecraft Country. If El Bastardo and others on here say it's good, it must be. I don't trust reviews on-line.

Damn, just looked these guys up.

https://www.syfy.com/shows

I guess CTV got their idea from this cable channel. CTV Drama, CTV Sci Fi, etc. Except, SyFy has a few original series content and a few B Movies. Sharknado, lol. Puts new meaning to television made, Sci Fi "disaster" film.

Okay, I'll admit it. I watch the movies - for shits and giggles.

Don't, it's a good show, well thought out, and well directed. It's a little all over the place with the lore though, I had to resort to those post spoiler Youtube videos each episode to understand everything going on there.

Don't follow IMDB when it comes to any films or shows that are black centric. There's a troll following online within the 4Chan/Stromfront communities that literally will vote bomb any such film on television series that carries any type of "black" agenda. It's an odd phenomenon that has occurred over the last number of years here, and it's quite disappointing.

When I had heard about the show, even before its release on HBO, the show was already sitting @ 5.3ish on IMDB, the same thing happened with Watchmen as well, prior to its release to the public. The votes eventually corrected themselves over time to a degree, but the initial damage is already done.

Edit: to add context to what I'm referring to above

Yeah, for me the "white man bad" stuff is an eye-roll but nothing more. I respect that they approach the era in which its set (1950s) without generous nostalgia. It just gets off track with the plot sometimes.

And its weird that those types of right-wing online circlejerkers didn't go after the Magnum PI reboot that MG1 mentioned. Recasting Thomas Magnum with a Hispanic actor? Gasp! *clutches pearls*

Oh, the music in the opening to season three of Star Trek Discovery was that of Mozart. Instantly recognizable as Mozart's style. After listening it again, its one of his symphonies. All those music history classes at UBC............. spending countless hours in Sedgewick Library's listening posts pays off.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkiAKCcOlj8

The only thing I can't figure out is which of the many recordings it is. Sounds digital, in any case.

BTW, is Sedgewick Library and the listening room still around? After 50 years since I've been there, I imagine it's gone now. What a beautiful building it was. Won an award for its design.

I think the rise of streaming is what got networks on to a 10 episode season. They get that people will want to binge, that good content over a short amount of time is better than mediocre content over a longer period, and that fewer episodes means cheaper production costs.

I, for one, am grateful for the departure of the 25 episode season. I watched Dawson's Creek because I'd never seen it before and I was floored when I saw how long/how many episodes there would be. At the end I can't believe that Joey ended up rejecting both Dawson and Pacey and flying away with Tom Cruise in his space ship to go to the Scientology homeworld

Just watched Walking Dead - Out There, or whatever the hell the new series is called. So many stupid decisions and moves. Chick with the pop out of socket eyes and eyebrows......... lights the tar on fire with a Zippo lighter. Instead of lighting something with it, she throws the lighter into the tar. Now you don't have a lighter anymore. Plus, the flame could have gone out. It's hollywood....... like the million times you could have escaped, but you stop to go back for a bunny rabbit or a fucking teddy bear.

Wow, just watched ten minutes of Earth: Final Conflict. The acting is horrible and from what I can see, the storyline is not up to snuff with other Roddenberry productions. Actually, it was his wife who found his notes and worked on the series. Wife should have just left it be, gulolol.

Maybe I'm getting tired of watching shows, like SG-1, SG Atlantis, Xena, Supernatural, etc. that I'm numb from it.

StarTrek Discovery is as good as I've hoped for. Phillopian Georgiou is an uber, supreme bitch, but she can totally be a bitch, 'cause fuck me, she can kick serious ass and take pain/punishment......... just picturing her in bed. She is Star Trek's bad ass Mulan, Gulolol.

And, Tilley wasn't as pathetic as I thought she could be. And crybaby, damn, she's got an awesome smile.

The two queers (what they want to be referred as) aren't cutting it. Not because of what they are, but the way they interact.

It's an awesome show if you're into paranormal stuff. They have good long story arcs and your typical monster of the week.

But I heard it gets good, so gave it a shot, by the end of 3 and by 4 on it gets much better, but still meh imo

If you've read the xmen comics at all you'll know where they're going with this, and you'll know for certain when a familiar character appears

Ok I've pushed ahead to episode 3 now, mostly while multi-tasking and felt like I didn't miss anything remotely important at all.
IMO they could have compacted all 3 episodes into like half an episode... they dragged on the "I Love Lucy" chapter for way too long and has been completely been a non-factor in any future plot? I'm sure it has turned off a lot of viewers by episode 2.
I would have totally gave up if my friend didn't keep bugging me to keep watching, he promises it gets better haha ... I guess I'll watch episode 4 tonight.

I wouldn't totally skip right to Ep. 4, since the first 3 episodes lays the groundwork for the ones afterwards, and stuff will start coming together from Ep. 4 and on. But you can probably skim through them.

I thought it was cool, not knowing anything going in. I grew up watching Leave it to Beaver and shows like that, and Brady Bunch, etc. So it was neat to see them do a few episodes like that.

If they didn't go all in with this, the story wouldn't have as much impact as they revealed what was going on. So I can see why all the people saying they skipped the episodes, or had them on in the background while making dinner, don't like the show. The reviewers probably actually watched it, so were able to enjoy the subtle developments into what it became.

It's pretty much the only thing the MCU has done well since Winter Soldier IMO. And people are skipping it because they don't have the patience and want more simplicity. *shrug*

I knew what to expect going in, but hoped, and didn't want, it to go on for so long.

I loved those old shows too, but just couldn't stomach a reimagining of that, felt like I was being played lol

I did notice the subtle glimpses of "reality" peaking thru, but again just felt like I was being led on, and I feared it'd go on for the whole season, which made me want to pay even less attention to it

I'm glad we're getting more main story than camp tho

Is it only 6 episodes? That seems rather short. Falcon and Winter Soldier was 6 episodes, and that felt short.

But the first episode was good. There seems to be a lot of stuff going on, and a lot of stories that could be told. But if they are only doing 6 episodes, I'm not sure if that's enough to do a thorough job of covering enough grounds.

Is it only 6 episodes? That seems rather short. Falcon and Winter Soldier was 6 episodes, and that felt short.

I was holding out hope that they'd make a Captain America movie with Steve Rogers going back in time to return the infinity stones, and crossing over into Loki and the time keepers, but I guess that's not what's going to happen

Okay, Vansterdamned, do you like have the entire collection of the IG photoshoot? Are you the photographer? Gulolol.

Actually, I don’t even want to know, but thanked you nonetheless.

Anyway, what was this thread about?

Kevin Can Go Fuck Himself. I watched the first ten minutes of episode 1 and couldn't stand any more of it.

Kung Fu. I started watching it. I don't know what to say. Is it a series based on the original series with David Carradine? Kwai Chang Caine. I can't see it. The original was about dude who only fought when he had to. This new one is like Batwoman or something (vigilante). Still, I like it enough (barely) to continue watching it.

Can't wait for season two of Resident Alien to air.............

I dearly hope it doesn't go all funky like a lot of series seem to go these days.

Season two episode one airs on Space Channel next Wednesday.

Naomi.......... man, not sure what to make of that series.

Anyone watching Wonder Years?

Obviously not as good as the original, but its Ben Savage(?) is a producer, I find it quite funny/interesting for a TV show. Shows a different perspective from the old show.

If any of you like crime drama's, I'd totally recommend the show Power. The original Power is over now but a bunch of power spin off's are playing now. My favorite show for the past like 8 years. So good. It's produced by 50 Cent. He also produced another showed called BMF (Black mafia family) about the 2 Detroit brother drug kingpins Big Meech and Southwest T. Love that show too

I can't remember the last time I watched America's Got Talent. I decided to record the first episode of this season. Wow, it was good and funny. Some of those acts were pretty scary. Like the guy who lit himself on fire. The sax player. Wow. Got the golden buzzer.

That show is amazingly well produced. It's like a drug, like pure dopamine to the brain. I think I'll check it out again, I've been needing something like this lately

So You Think You Can Dance is back again this year after a few years off, it seems like a smaller production, but I just love the show. From beginning to end its like a very well produced musical experience with amazing amazing dancers. You just get sucked in. I have been watching since season 2. So much talent got out into the mainstream from this show.

Just watched episode 6 of AGT that I recorded a few days ago. Simon's 15 all time favourite golden buzzers, or something like that. Number one was so touching. I mean, so special. She will live on forever....................

OMFG, the trailer to Rookie Feds.......... I can't see that series surviving half a season. Wrong actress, wrong everything. Maybe it's just trailer fail, but can't imagine anybody remotely interested in it.
