So the girlfriend has a 15 yr old daughter who loves Anime. Since Christmas is around the corner I want to get her something Anime but have zero clue about it so need your advice... All I know is she watches the shows on YouTube, I don't have any clue of the shows she watches just that some of them are vampires that live forever?
What kind of Anime gift would knock is out of the park and blow her fricken mind? This is all new to me and like I said I have zero clue what to actually get her.

Thread title had me real worried but content is actually wholesome. I’ll as some of my weeb friends
Wow, saw the title then went............ anyway.
Vampire anime?
I am more outdated than you, so not much help here. My daughter used to watch Sailor Moon, lol and my sons were into Naruto, Inu Yasha and shit like that. We were all into Dragon Ball - Master Roshi, what can I say?
Interested to see what kind of replies you get here.
BTW, your avatar still scares the shit out of me............... maybe because you don't post that often anymore.

Is hentai appropriate?
Actually, murd0c, go to some anime shops and ask them for advice. Also, browse the shelves to see if you recognize any of the stuff she watches. Did she dress up during Halloween? That's a pretty good indicator of what she likes.
And, no, dukes, hentai is not appropriate. Not in this thread, anyway.

To be fair, he did say he wanted to get her something that would blow her mind.

Vampire anime might be Monogatari?

Go with the safe bets, like a statue of Deku from hero academia (popular anime like today's Dragonball) or something from the newest rage anime 'Demon Slayer' the movie is breaking box office records in Asia, and the series is popular af too
Or get her a crunchyroll or funimation subscription it's Netflix for anime

Vampire anime might be Monogatari?
I'm pretty sure that's it compared to the description of the show. I remembered its kids in high school so that makes complete sense.

Going to an anime shop is the last place I want to go right now (I also live in Mission lol) I just have zero clue what to look for or what a good gift would be that involves anime.

+1 on getting a crunchyroll sub.
Maybe ask the gf to try to find out what they are actually watching or into. There is no magic "general anime" product that exists IMO. Think like someone buying you a present but all they know is you're a car guy. They don't even know you drive and like Honda's and they buy you TRD driving socks or something silly thinking you'll love it

The Blue Ladder or Green Buttons hoodie should go over well
I see quite a few girls on tiktok sporting my hero academia merchandise like phone cases/toys/sweatshirts
They're like anime fans in their 20s tho
Seems like a safe bet, everyone likes my hero academia, but if you really wanna hit it out of the park ya gotta find out what she loves
Edit: terriyaki has a point :lol buying a Honda guy TRD merch hehehe

You need to make absolute sure which Anime she watches first instead of guessing as step 1! Anime fans can be quite finicky, guess the wrong one could be bad haha

Getting something to blow someone's mind is very tough without being specific.
But finding out the specific is the challenge, and that's not something any of us in here can really advise with the given info.

the GF has zero clue what she watches but I'm 100% she's a big fan of Monogatari which Razor said.
She loves this chick https://www.amazon.ca/Banpresto-Monogatari-Koinogatari-Hitagi-Senjougahara/dp/B01B9A68F0/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=Monogatari&qid=1605642871&sr=8-7

Some people are *very* particular when it comes to anime. If you can find out which shows she watches or characters she likes from them you might be able to find a collectable of some sort from overseas.
Does she watch them dubbed (voices in English) or subbed (with English subtitles)? If subbed she might be interested in learning some of the native language (probably Japanese but maybe Korean). Or getting manga that goes with the show, again either translated or not.
Again it depends on the types of shows and country of origin but there's also "loot crate" subscriptions in every variation under the sun that might match what she likes. The items themselves are cool and translating the packaging can be fun too if learning the language a bit is something she's into.

If it's Monogatari I'm sure she would love the 3 piece set of characters which have interchangeable parts and faceplates

Prolly be best to take a trip out to metro/Richmond to checkout the anime stores, in case those amazon products don't arrive in time (the shipping estimates r kinda wide)
Jesus do not search for monogatari cosplay (or any anime I imagine) in amazon, such weird fkn results.. body length pillows with nude anime characters on it... ffs

An Amazon.ca search shows quite a bit of the Monogatari stuff depending on your budget:

Does anyone know if this stuff goes on sale? Black Friday shopping for Vampire toys on November 27th. LUL

Probably wouldn't get the Nendoroid Petits. They're tiny. The regular Nendoroids/Figmas are much better, but cost a lot more.
I think the best deals are the regular Banpresto ones they put in crane games as prizes. I have a shit ton of Dragonball ones filling up a display cabinet.
Example of some currently released ones from Monogatari - https://www.banpresto.jp/prize/0013.html
Sakura Media at Metrotown sells these kinds of figures. EB Games sells a variety as well online. But I imagine most manga stores will have some sort of figure section.
https://www.ebgames.ca/SearchResult/QuickSearch?q=monogatari
For that Hitagi Senjougahara figure, since it's not a current release, you'll have to get it from somewhere online. If it's not on Amazon.ca, you can get it from Amazon.co.jp or through a private seller on MyFigureCollection.

24 posts and I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet (OK, Razor Ramon HG kind of did):
https://metrohobbies.square.site/
Lots of options on how you can use this to help.
No, don't go on her computer without her knowledge. Even I know not to do that. If you ever want to get your daughter to hate your guts for the next three life times, go ahead.
Having said that, get her mom to do it, instead............lololololol.
If it ever comes back to you. Deny, deny, deny...............

Yeah that is super creeper stalker alert ... going into girlfriend's daughters computer will not end well lol ...
But +100 for CrunchyRoll subscription! If all she's been watching is lower quality half-assed uploaded YouTube clips with a thousand ads then CR is definitely what will "blow her mind", their library is huge and all high quality and very up-to-date with the new releases.

Maybe a Christmas card saying "Merry Christmas here's your Login and PW for CR" and you can pair it with a figurine.
Crunchy Roll sounds like something from a sushi restaurant :troll:

Maybe Obsideon can name a new roll the Crunchyroll lawls, make it the RS special.
Doubling down on the subscription option. I'd be ecstatic if that was gifted to ME today, let alone a 15 year old girl that has just opened the wide world of anime with a limited budget.

Next time she's watching it just ask her what it is.
Then start an old man ramble about how shows were better back in your day,
"We can't bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell 'em stories that don't go anywhere - like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Give me five bees for a quarter, you'd say.
Now where were we? Oh yeah: the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones..."
I’ve always said, RS needs a third button. Thanks, Fail, and WTF?
Not good or bad, just fucking way out in left field or in the Gamma Quadrant.

Anime shows are a personal preference so it'll be a harder one to buy for. In addition, her own personal perception of how loud or quiet she wants to be about her interest in anime also plays a factor.
1. Subscription to an anime source would be a great reasonable pick as a general gift that would get used and could allow her to try more shows (old and new).
2. Figurine would be another good option as those are expensive typically but can be kept at home. (SAKURA MEDIA (http://www.sakuramedia.com/) as one of the options you could call to get recommendations over the phone). Nice people.
3. Maybe a pro-photoshoot in Japanese clothing or Anime clothing.
4. Although a long shot, a IOU for a trip to Japan (maybe as a family?) in the future once it's safe to travel.
Good luck on your hunt!

My niece and nephew (a little younger) loves stuff that you could wear. My niece loves her UA (my hero academia) shirt.
My sons have the attack on titans green capes.
I was at Sakura Media today. I asked the people there about Vampire Anime and they looked at me like ..........
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qw9oX-kZ_9k
I forgot the name of the series, "Bakemonogatari," at the time. They might have clued in, but.........
BTW, monogatari means story or tale. Bakemono is ghost/monster/spirit. One that changes. Anyway.............
