For those of you who are old enough to remember actor Dustin Diamond from the TV show "Saved By the Bell", there is sad news about the actor who played "Screech" on the show.

Dustin Diamond passed away at age 44. Carcinoma, a form of cancer, is the cause of death.

damn i know on my news feed the news broke out a week or so ago...unless he's had it a while, that really moved fast i thought they were looking at treatment, though they said it was late stage and the worst kind...

I heard he was diagnosed a couple of weeks ago, and his agent was asking fans to write cards to him, Mario Lopez even reached out to him

Then I googled his name yesterday and it said he was beginning chemotherapy

That's so sad

I've been watching the new saved by the bell, and it's actually pretty good, and the last episode I watched they even mentioned screech being on the space station

So much nostalgia!

RIP

It's super sad, I was really hoping he was going to make it into the remake and then the news broke out about the cancer. He was always a one of a kind character and I'm sure he was part of a lot of our childhoods.

RIP Screech.

The new SBTB is surprisingly watchable. The new theme song though :denied:

For those of you who grew up watching Saved By the Bell, the new one is worth watching. Took me a few episodes to warm up to it as I had some reservations, but after getting settled in, it got better. I'll leave out the spoilers and let you guys decide for yourselves.

Really?... a couple of my friends watched it and thought it was pretty bad so I avoided it ... but maybe I'll take a look for nostalgia's sake.
The trailer did look pretty cringe though...

Yeah I liked it, it's mainly about the new class, slater n Jessie are staff

Zack n Kelly r hardly in it

But it works, I can see it appealing to kids, like we were when we first saw it

The trailer did suck, hence why I was apprehensive about it. You have to watch a few episodes to get a hang of it and not expect all the characters to be as the same as the original series. Most of the characters reflect the originals, like the antics and their personalities, but its adopted to current day situations and norms and obviously played and portrayed by different people. The ramp up to tell the story and character development sucks, but once you get there, it's all good from there.

On my Android TV, I opened the Global app and within the "W" channel is where I watched it. Not sure where the other folks are watching it.

Keep in mind, I'm in Toronto, so it may be different in Vancouver.
