Yeah, was trying to make a call for work wouldn't work. I went to the Rogers store cause figured my sim card was fucked but networks down, kind of inconvenient.

Apparently it's big ... Canada wide ... hopefully, they're not effected by a hacker!

A friend who works at rogers thinks its a 5g rollout issue, and apparently its spiralling because the more devices try and connect back the worse the problem gets.
Must be the ppl getting vaccinated, the tracking nanobots in the vaccines are logging onto the 5g network all at once.

Yah I needed to make some work calls and can't. Not ideal. Surprised it is down for so long. Wish I had a landline right about now.

I'm curious to see what the aftermath of this is gonna be, I'm sure a lot of people are working from home, business people, have to keep in touch with family etc.
The backlash is going to be harsh.
I have a feeling Rogers is just going to shrug this off though lol

Lol, looks like they've been doing it all day already.
Took them forever to make this post, and it still didn't even address what the actual problem is.

LMAO, "intermittent" is the new word for just "completely shut down" now.

Hear word on the street it was 5G equipment related, hence they name-dropped Ericsson in that apology, non-apology tweet.
Curious to know if it was just a simple failure, or was there something a little more nefarious behind the scenes.

Anyone called and ask for compensation for today's "Intermittent" wireless network issue?
I assume customer service is packed right now with calls.

Reading news about people bitching unable to make appointments for their vaccines. Are you going to fucking die today right now at this moment by delaying your vaccine shot for a day...These privileged fucks. There's way more worse things in the world happening.
Yes it's an inconvenience not having accessibility to network communication, but people make it sound like life and death on the news.

Fair enough. I think the reason people got to angry about the situation is that Canadian Telecom companies are crap. Rogers will nickel and dime you if you go a MB over your data allowance, back in the days when text messages were charged, it was even more egregious.
If the telecom company can be petty, why can't its customers when you have a full day outage with little to no information provided as per why, until pretty much end of the day?
is anyone still down? i think fido's 3g signal is still down

Too fucking many :lol
The mid to late 2000's for me were rough when it came to cell phone bills and texting :lol
Those 500 texts per month were never enough, I can't count the thousands I spent over the years in additional charges.
The Canadian telecom companies were some of the slowest to move to unlimited texting, where as our neighbors down south had it long before us.
Thinking about it again pisses me off :lol
