Have watched or listened to every game so far this season, and the Jays continue to be a great team to follow. Great players, management team, coaches, and scouting staff. A young team with no fear.

Then there's the great coverage - Buck Martinez, lol and that Hazel Mae.

Home games at TD Park in Dunedin, Fl. Really weird to see Canadian advertising around a US ball park.

I really enjoy the TV and radio commercials during the coverage. Toronto, such an awesome city. Not as awesome as Vancouver area, but a close second, for me.

Win or lose, this team is fun to watch.

Hey MG1, Don’t know you personally, only from your posts, and I just want to say I’m glad you are back and posting again....

It's like quiting a bad habit. Alcohol, drugs, porn, etc. RS was just taking over, lol.

I had to convince myself I could do it. Quit cold turkey.

BTW, it wasn't because of dukes............ he's not that important (how's that for a back slap?), gulolol.

Back to the Jays...........

They'e such a tight knit group. Gotta love the way they have fun out there. Montoyo is a damn good manager. The bull pen and that explosive offence. As a sports franchise, they are about as far away from being like the Knucklheads. I took everything Canucks related down in the man cave, save the framed "Heart and Soul (https://westedmontoncoinandstamp.com/kirk-mclean-trevor-linden-van-canucks-heart-soul-dual-signed-8x10/)" memorabilia. It's all Blue Jays and BC Lions now.

Will not bother supporting the Cannots ever again, until aquavulva leaves the organization. This after following the Canucks since before they joined the NHL.

Ever since I put up the Vlady Guerrero Jr. an Ace (mascot) Funko Pop in the man cave, the Jays have been on fire. 10 runs yesterday and 8 so far today. Hyun Jin Ryu is da man!

Man I miss living in Toronto and going to Jays games. 500 level scalper tickets for $10 bucks after class :fuckyea:

This team could really do something over the next couple years. They have the talent, they just need the pitching to be consistent through 162 games. So far so good this year, even with all the injuries they have encountered.

I've been referring to this chart to see how the Jays' injury situation compares to other teams. It's not pretty.

Jays are white hot right now. However, I'm also paying attention to Shohei Ohtani having a monster season. Guy can't stop yoking dingers and if he can get his control reined in he's going to be a threat when pitching. Shame his bullpen is shit.

I forgot about tonight's game. It must have been delayed a bit. It was the top of the 9th when I turned on the television. Blue Jays were down 5 to 3. Long story short, the Jays made yet another amazing come back. Marlins coach decides to intentionally walk the Blue Jays' two best hitters loading the bases. The batter at plate hit twice in the game. Gambler or what? It's the bottom of the ninth, so a hit to the outfield ends the game. The ball is hit to the outfield. The outfielder purposely drops the ball. There was no point, as a throw wouldn't make it t home plate.

After losing 6 games in a row, four of which were really tough losses, the Jays sweep the Marlins in their new home field in Buffalo. I cannot wait to see the Jays play in Toronto again.

MG1
06-14-2021, 05:52 PM
Not like last night's 18-4 Blue Jays win, but todays game looked like the Jays would lose. 1-0 for Boston top of the ninth with two outs. Toronto's Vladimir Guerrero Jr. comes up to plate and just destroys the ball. 451 footer! Fuck the Green Monster. Guerrero leads the league in home runs. Manoah, former Vancouver Canadian pitched a really good game.

Doesn't look good right now, but the Jays are an exciting team to watch. If Guerrero doesn't make it into the All Star game, Major League baseball fans are as blind as a wuhan bat.

Oh well............ tough loss.

Next up, the damn Yankees.

MG1
06-25-2021, 04:30 PM
Vladdy is on fire. Just got back on top of the league's home run stats. Two home runs on two hits. I think the Jays are leading in most first pitch hits in the league.

Blue Jays have a scary top of the order line up. As far as their pitching, the rotation is okay, but the bull pen is not that great. Manoah, who used to pitch for the Vancouver Canadians, looks very promising. If he can avoid getting suspended.

Yesterday's 9-0 was fun to watch.

As a pitcher, why would you even try to get away with it? Umps are checking for illegal substances on a regular basis.

https://theathletic.com/news/mariners-pitcher-hector-santiago-ejected-after-glove-check-in-fifth-inning/GGsrM7AiM4q8

One of the Jays' players who was interviewed recently, said that hitting has changed because of this mid-season crack down.

Haiyaaaaaaaaaaaaah............Is the game tonight not televised? I'm forced to watch the game on You Tube. Man the announcers suck monkey balls. Maybe I'm just used to Buck Martinez and company. MG1
07-02-2021, 06:59 PM
LOL............... Blue Jays leading 10-1 at the bottom of the 8th and the Rays put an outfielder in as a pitcher. Basically gave up and saving the bullpen for tomorrow. Outfielder was pitching loopers at 45 mph. Loads up the bases, but only one run comes in. Everybody laughing, but some fans didn't like it. Outfielder starts playing with his pants and belt like he's going to reach for some banned sticky substance (yeah, that didn't cum out right). Throwing pitches like a girl who's never thrown anything before - leading with wrong foot, etc He struck out a player. Hard to hit loopers when you're used to 95 - 100 mph pitches.

Then there was the Balk Choi comment made by the announcers. Manoah, the Blue Jays pitcher, balked when Ji Man Choi was up to bat. Now fans want to order chinese food, lol.

I was hoping "Pretty boy," Bo Bichette would squeak in, but that'd be asking for too much. It's a shame Vladdy decided not to enter the home run derby. Shohei Ohtani is in. He's in the lead so far this season with 30 home runs to Vladdy's 27.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. not in it, by choice, but we get to see what Shohei Ohtani's all about. Hopefully he doesn't get the jitters.

Holy carp, Pete Alonso is totally in the groove........... he's in another dimension. Ripping it out of the park in the high 400's. He hit a couple of 500+ footers in the first round.

BTW, Ohtani hit 500+ footers 6 times in extra time, even though he didn't advance.

I hope Mancini does well. Stage three colon cancer survivor. What a story.

MG1

Alonso defends his title. The real winner in my books is Trey Mancini. There's life after cancer..........

Alonso makes $676,775 a year as a player. He wins a cool million for winning the derby. He's done it twice, lol.

In real games, he has 17 home runs with a batting average of .250

The one given is really weird. Shhhh...........quiet........ forefinger to mouth as he rounds the bases.

What was the reason he gave?

MG1
07-14-2021, 06:31 PM
What was the reason he gave?

He wanted to be rested for the team (second half of the season). Pretty legit, I suppose. The Home Run Derby takes a lot out of a player.

Vladdy has not missed a single game so far this season. He stated once, he wants to play and give this team his everything. 100% dedication.

Bull pen and rotation getting plenty of rest. Next game day is Friday.

Eff-1
07-15-2021, 11:41 AM
That's a totally legit reason and I'm glad he wasn't in the derby.

Remember 2017, Aaron Judge, led the league in HRs, then won the derby, and after the derby his numbers completely collapsed. Then he refused to participate in the derby ever again.

MG1
07-16-2021, 06:17 AM

Listening to all the comments and stories by the play by play announcers and broadcasters, coming back to Toronto is a huge deal for the entire team. Fan and team relationship..... representing not only the Toronto area, but the whole nation. So cool. 670 days wait!!

On a side note, Guerrero Jr. has turned out to be quite the first baseman. When he got moved over to first base from third, he struggled. With the help of Rowdy Tellez, he has become an amazing first baseman. Almost like he was meant to play that position. I remember Tellez during a game showing Guerrero Jr. how to position himself (placement of foot) at the base to receive throws. Great teamwork and comradeship.

Lordy, Lordy, Lordes...........2 out grand slam. And we're not talking Denny's. 6-0 Blue Jays. First inning of second game of the double header.

In god we trust, but Steven Matz, the Jays starting pitcher, not so much. If Blue Jays had decent pitching, they can make a run for the pennant. That's the chink in their armour. The offence has never been an issue and their fielding is very decent.

Oh, boy! Another two out home run for Vladdy. And, not to be outdone, George Springer makes it 8-0.

MG1

My god, the Jays are on the other end of a good shit kicking. Down 11-0 at the top of the 3rd. Thought the bull pen sucked, but their starters are sucking monkey balls, too. The Jays are going to face the Red Sucks another 6 more times in the next little while. Boston. Damn you, Ballston.

All kidding aside, the Red Sox are no Texas Rangers. They are a solid team.

BTW, they are auctioning premium box seats to July 30th’s home (real home) game. Comes with all kinds of extras. Current bid $4300.00.

MG1
07-19-2021, 05:19 PM
12-4 now........ bases loaded at bottom of 4th inning with 2 out and Vladdy is up to bat......... grand slam? Nope. If any team can mount a comeback, it's the Jays. If, the pitching stops the bleeding first.

Just snagged a Charlie Montoyo bobblehead from the 2021 Broadcast Charity Auction. Montoyo playing the bongos. So cool. I wanted the 2 pack, but got sold out while I was filling out the forms, damn it. 2 for $90.00 CAD or a single for $50.00. The Home Plate Lady, ftmfw!

MG1
07-30-2021, 05:57 PM
Oh wow, what a dumb defensive move by the Jays. Bichette snags a base hit on the third base side of short stop, throws the ball a long ways cross field to first. The throw is off and the ball goes into foul territory. The catcher, Reese McGuire, runs over to first base to cover Guerrero Jr. (first baseman). Runner on first runs to second, then realizes he can get to third. Third base coach is like a giddy teenage girl at a school dance............. go, go, go............ 'cause nobody is at the plate, lol. A run scores. Like, WTF?

Young team............ (No Excuses banner, lol). Still leading 6-3 in the bottom of 8th.

MG1
07-30-2021, 06:08 PM
I wish I was more on the ball, when the Blue Jays did the cut out thing. It was a great fundraiser idea. I would have loved to be part of that. It was announced afterward, that your cutout would be returned to you after the Jays were finished with the home away from home, stadium(s). Buffalo and Dunedin. Some are at Toronto today. Upper deck, where it is closed to fans.

Still 6-3 at the top of 9th with the closer, Romano, at the mound. Don't let this one get away.......... I have little faith in the bull pen.

MG1
07-30-2021, 06:23 PM

Jays have so much positive energy right now. The timing of it all. The homecoming and the acquisition of some decent players (all much needed pitchers). Looks like the management and owners (Rogers Communications) is seriously wanting to go deep, this season.

One of those new players was the starting pitcher in todays game. So glad they're planning on getting rid of some "deadwood" in the name of Chatwood.......... that pitcher cost us some important games earlier on this season.

Hopefully, if things go well, the Jays will sweep the Kansas City Royals today. Up 5-0 at the bottom of the 5th. And, this is without their all star hitter, Guerrero Jr.

The little kid who caught that foul ball up in the upper level. Holy shit. That blonde sitting next to him............ :megusta: Richmond Nightmarket material right there, gulolol.

MG1
08-06-2021, 06:44 PM
Blue Jays ahead 12-4 on the Red Sox. Boston sends in a position player to pitch in the 8th inning. 37 mph pitches lobbed in. You'd think the Jays would blow it out of the park. Nope. It's way too hard for the hitters who are used to 95 to 100 mph pitches to hit anything with decent distance.

MG1
08-07-2021, 01:50 PM
Wow, it's a double header today in Toronto. Playing the pesky Red Sox. Score is tied 0-0 right down to the bottom of the 7th and final inning (because of double header). There was a bit of a controversy in the top of the 6th. Blue Jays should have gotten a double play to end the inning, but the officials and review officials back in New York deemed the runner to be safe at first. The Boston runner, Alex Verdugo, jumped over first base and missed it. Blue Jays first baseman, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. caught the baseball, but his foot was off the bag as he stretched to catch the ball. Thing is, Gurriel touched the bag afterward before Verdugo goes back to touch first base. After review, Verdugo is called safe - I call fullshit!

Anyway, it's the bottom of the 7th and final inning. Still scoreless. Red Sox pitcher, Matt Barnes, is MLB's best closer. First pitch and Marcus Semien hits it out of the park! Jays win it, just like that. Marcus gets the home run jacket, lol.

Story behind the jacket is a special jacket that has all the countries that are represented on the team. This team is so special. The team has so much fun together, like the time they tape Vladdy to a chair to keep him from harassing and trolling the rest of the team on his, "day off." The team is so elated that they're home.

https://theathletic.com/2754993/2021/08/05/how-the-blue-jays-created-their-hot-home-run-accessory-the-blue-jacket/

Game two of today's double header starts at 4:07 pm.

Win or lose, this team is awesome.

Was watching the game this morning. Star pitcher, Hyun Jin Ryu, shit the bed. They were leading 1-0, but Boston does what they do best, fuck up the jays. Ryu loads up the bases and Montoyo pulls him before too much damage is done. Hyun Jin's worse game was giving up ten hits. Top of the 4th and he's already at ten hits. They get out of the 4th inning with a 2-7 deficit. I gave up and went to the Downtown laundromat. I get out of there just to see what the results were. "Hey, Siri, who won the Blue Jays game!" "The Blue Jays edged out the Red Sox........." I was like WTF? 9-8 Final. I have to watch how they did it.

Holy, reclining Buddha, that Shohei Ohtani is one magnetic force of a man (no homo). He is definitely not your average Asian male. 6 ft 4, 210 lbs, and built like a tank. He can pitch (99 mph fast ball when he was in high school!). He can hit (most home runs in MLB, so far). And, he can run like a deer (turned a single into a triple last game against the Jays).

In the second double header game from last night, Jays were ahead 4-0. In the bottom of 7th and final inning of the game, the Angels loaded the bases with Shohei up to plate as the tying run. It was like the "Mighty Casey at Bat," scenario. Pitcher was that weirdo pitcher, Jordan Romano. Just like the story of Casey, Romano strikes Ohtani out.

Interesting fact, the first game of yesterday's double header was the fourth home game away from home for the Jays. This because of a game that had to be made up due to being postponed earlier this season.

Today's game features the former Vancouver Canadians pitcher, Alek Manoah. Dude is another big man. He was recently put on the ten day IL from slipping on the stairs in the dugout at Sahlen Field. He's totally recovered and pitching really well. Jays are, as we speak, ahead 2-0 due to solo home runs from Gurriel Jr. and Springer.

Go, Jays, GO!

MG1

Bases loaded and Guerrero is up to bat. It's the Jays' version of The Great Casey at Bat.......... and he pops it up. Guerrero really needed this. He is going through a bit of a drought. He's only 4 runs behind league leading Shohei Ohtani. It would have been great to get a Grand Slam.

However, it was one out and next up to bat is Teoscar Hernandez. He got the Denny's Grand Slam.

6 ft 5 Manoah has a damn good two seamer. And that slider once in a while to mess with the batters. Jays up 7-2 bottom of 5th.

Go, Jays, GO!

MG1

Another reason to fear the Blue Jays' star pitcher, Manoah. Dude just hit the Angels' player on the forearm. 5th player he's hit in his 11 game debut in the big league. Arm bruised up immediately. Hopefully, the X-Rays don't show any fractures. It was brutal. Better the arm than elsewhere, I guess.

MG1
08-12-2021, 06:27 PM
Angels third base coach, Butterfield leaves the game for no apparent reason. Jays pitcher is shitting the bed. Ohtani a double and on base again in the second. Bases loaded with one out. Gotta pull the pitcher. Doesn't matter if the bull pen isn't ready.

3-0 Angels and still only one out.

For the love of Brittney Spears' father.............. how many fucking times have the Jays bullpen fucked the team over? Tied up with the Mariners bottom of 9th. Bases loaded on walks. They switch pitchers and he walks in the needed run to end the game.

There were many lost opportunities in the game. When the winning run came in, there were two outs. Three walks in a row?

An infield home run. Like W - T - F ?

1-1 tie game, bottom of the 8th and center fielder gambles by diving after a shallow hit. He doesn't make it and the ball goes to the wall in the biggest ball park in the league. By the time they field the ball, the hitter runs all the fucking way around. It's all the Tigers needed to win the game. They say the team is young, but this has nothing to do with it. You go through the minor leagues to learn the basics. Center fielder wanted the glory. Well, fuck that....... you just looked like a little leaguer. All he had to do was to stop the ball from getting past him.

Yeah, buddy, you made the highlight reel, lol.

Never, ever, ever, ever, put yourself ahead of the team.

MG1
08-28-2021, 04:32 PM
Blue Jays leading 2-0 against the Tigers at the top of the 8th. Another close game.

LOL, Kirk so slow. He hit the ball pretty close to second base, the shortstop decides to throw to first base instead of second, 'cause Kirk is so slow.

I always wAndered why Kirk looks kind of frumpy. Then it dawned on me. His mother dresses him funny. Everybody has nice fitting clothes. Kirk has pants that don't fit him. Today, it looks like he has gators on. It's a better look.

I'm still hoping to witness an immaculate inning. Chris Sale of Boston, just pitched an immaculate inning against the Twins on August 26th.

I don't think anyone on the Jays bullpen or rotation can do it. They say chances of witnessing one is more likely in modern times, as pitchers are so powerful these days.

I've seen an infield home run, a triple play, but the rarest would be an unassisted triple play. Never in a lifetime, I thought, would you see stealing all three bases in one appearance, but that rarity was accomplished July of last year by Dee Gordon. I have to search for that one.

I love baseball.

MG1
09-01-2021, 06:18 PM
Umpire helped Romano out by calling an obvious ball, a strike. Mullins struck out, then Mountcastle. Took the series against the worst team in MLB. Should've swept them. Jays still 4.5 games out. Seattle doing better with 3 games behind in the wild card race.

MG1
09-03-2021, 04:08 PM
Jays' three game series against Oakland is probably the most important one this season (pivotal). Still 30 games left, but Oakland is 2 games out of the wildcard race. Toronto 5, while the Mariners are 4 out.

Toronto down 0-2 bottom of the 4th.

Let's go, Blue Jays...........

MG1
09-03-2021, 04:34 PM
For sure I thought there'd be a bench clearing brawl in this game. Rookie pitcher, Manoah hits a player up high. Player is pretty upset as two pitches were high. Next batter gets hit in the head. Good thing Manoah is 6 ft 6 and 260 lbs.

Oakland score two runs. The two hitters who got beaned. The A's are really giving it to Manoah. Talk about salty and not letting it go............ Harrison the first guy who got hit is still yapping. This is probably not over.

MG1
09-03-2021, 05:50 PM
O - M - F - G ! !

For sure I thought game was over. 8-2 at the top of the 8th inning and it looked like it was over. Pitchers shitting the bed........... butt, butt, butt.......... the Jays come back to tie the game. 2 outs with nobody on and they turn it up. All of a sudden, 6 runs in.

Grand slam............. Lordy, Lordy, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. First pitch homer. Everybody knew it was gone. You could hear it. It was gone! You know it's gone when Buck Martinez didn't do the "Get up, get up ball, get out of here!"

MG1
09-03-2021, 06:21 PM
A must win game. Top of the ninth inning, Romano, the Blue Jays' closer with 2 outs gives up a two run homer. !0-8 for Oakland. Can the jays do it? Yes, they can........ runners on second and third with nobody out. Marcus Semien comes up to plate against his former team and smokes that ball out of the park. Another, "No doubt about it," homers.

Hazel Mae is interviewing the hero when Manoah and Vladdy showers him with ice water. Good times!

Hazel is a master now at avoiding ice showers. She saw it coming at the last minute and took off. I am hoping the Hazel Mae Ice Shower, Bobblehead comes up on eBay.

Wow what a comeback from the Jays

Yup. And, it's not the first time. You can never count them, "out".

The amazing part is, the pitching sucked monkey balls. Gotta hand it to the rookie, Manoah. He kept his composure and stayed in the clubhouse cheering the team on till the end.

Just watching "Misplays of the Month." So painful to watch some of the not so great plays.

Yankee lost, but Mariners won. Making up five games is not easy.

MG1

Wow, the Blue Jays’ bats are smokin’ hot. 7-0 bottom of 3rd with one out. Home plate umpire establishes a wide strike zone, but who cares? As long as ump is consistent.

I wAnder when/if we’ll ever see a female ump………..

Robbie Ray an amazing outing today. 8-0 Blue Jays, top of 7th with over 100 pitches. Need to take him out now. Then again bull pen sucks so badly, it’s a gamble. There’s no need to push a pitcher to save your bullpen. Risk of injury.

Edit: Montoyo comes out and pitching change. 10th strike out. Leave on a high note. No injury to ego or arm. Good call.

Cy Young this year is a possibility, for sure. Oh, wow…….. they put the “Home Run” jacket on Ray.

Yup, first 2 up and 2 homers. Plate umpire calls an obvious ball a strike on Guerrero Jr. Vladdy was on his way to first (half way to first), when ump says, "Strike!" No problem, ump. I'll just hit it out of the park, lol. His 40th of the season.

All the Jays need in this game is for Hyun Jin to pitch like he's supposed to and not shit the bed like he's been doing the last little while.

Wow, must be a dream come true for Smith. First game at Yankee Stadium.

Seattle behind 2-11 top of 8th in Houston.

I believe Boston blew a lead and lost to the Tampa Bay Rays 11 to 10 in extra innings. Boston was ahead 7-1 at one point.

Jays now 3 games back! Seattle 2-1/2 games back.

Let's go Blue Jays............

MG1
09-07-2021, 11:46 AM
Before heading into tonight's ball game, Toronto and Seattle are both 3 games behind the last wild card spot. Oakland A's are now 3.5 games behind. Both Toronto and Seattle face the same teams again. Winning another game against the Yankees is not impossible, but hoping Seattle loses to Houston again. Meanwhile Boston play the Rays. The Rays are a tough team to beat.

If all goes well, Jays have a good chance of leapfrogging the Mariners like they did the A's.

Tonight's startup pitchers...... Gerrit Cole vs Steven Matz. Wow. Cole struck out 15 with no walks in his last outing. Matz has an ERA of 1.65 in his last six games. The next two pitchers for the Jays in this four game series are, Alek, "I want to Bean players," Manoah and José Berríos. Both of these pitchers have what it takes, but are totally unpredictable. Time to buy more bed sheets............... let's hope not.

Let's go, Blue Jays!

MG1
09-07-2021, 04:39 PM
Nice. I guess there are baseball gods after all.............. Yankee's number one pitcher's not right. Got charged with a balk. Just before the next pitch, you could see him shaking ever so slightly. The trainer was summoned and he was taken out of the game. Something was up, because the replacement pitcher was up and on the field in no time. Jays leading 3-1 at top of 5th.

Semien solo homer!!! What a swing........... thing of beauty.

4-1 with no out!

Just listening to Buck and Tabby talk about Cooperstown. Larry Walker is going to be inducted into baseball's Hall of Fame. Second Canadian to be inducted. I did not know how amazing a player he was. Maple Ridge, damn.

Check out his stats............

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Walker

What a career. When I read about how he made it in a hockey mad country where baseball was never a thing, it made me tear up a bit. I grew up next to Oppenheimer Park, where I watched and worked at the baseball games there. I fell in love with baseball. Oppenheimer was home to the Asahi team. I so wanted to join a team. Any team, but all I could do was play with the kids in the area. I was one of two players who could hit the ball into the third floor of the Junior Building at Strathcona Elementary. Alas, there was none of this JumpStart program or programs to get youth into organized sport. Life is so unfair at times. At least I had my music.

And, the Red Sox were beaten up by the Tampa Bay Rays.

MG1
09-08-2021, 04:28 PM
Damn, the Yankees are an intimidating team. Huge players. Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge are like huger bookends. Guerrero isn't tiny by any means, but when Stanton stands next to Guerrero at first base, it's no contest. Then, the Jays have the shorty Mexican, Alejandro Kirk, who's standing taller than any Yankee in this series with multiple homers. New York pinstripe unis, so classic.

Damn, Gurriel just got out of the way of a wild pitch. It was "headed" right for the noggins. Nobody could believe he got out of the way in time. Just grazed the helmet. Manoah's supposed to be the head hunter, lol.

MG1
09-08-2021, 04:57 PM
Seattle won today, so they are 2-1/2 games back. Jays are 2 games back, and Oakland 3-1/2 games back. Jays up 3-0 top of 6th. Starting pitcher for NY taken out of the game early and the NY bull pen is struggling. 8 walks so far. That's nuts. Jays only have two hits. This is not a game for bats to go quiet. Punish the bullpen. With two games to go in the series, you need to wear out the pitchers. The next series is against the same Yankees, but in TO.

MG1
09-08-2021, 05:22 PM

Jeepers, what the hell, ump? Never seen a side arm, submarine pitcher before? When pitches are on or near the strike zone, yeah, you can call it whichever way you want, but when the ball is in the strike zone nearly down the middle, you gotta call it a strike. Unconventional style "throws" both hitter and the home plate ump off. Good thing Jays got out of the inning stranding two pinstripers.

Gurriel hits a long single that goes to the wall. He keeps running and takes third. Wow, some balls, right there. Ball hit deep by newcomer, Lamb, and it's caught by Aaron Judge who has a really strong arm. Gurriel tags up and comes home. 5-3 Jays top of 8th.

MG1
09-08-2021, 06:44 PM
Top of the 9th and NY has their best closer on the mound. Triple digit fast ball kind of pitcher. Vladdy's like, "Give me your best!" BOOM! Solo home run 114 mph off the bat. 6-3 with one out.

Romano tp pitch the bottom of 9th. Not confident he can get it done. He has changed his prep and wind up and it seems to be working for him.

Go, Jays, GO!!!

7th win in a row............ Evanka Osmak, "They look like they (Yankees) lost their puppies." Cameramen capturing the faces of the Yankees in the club house. Shocked, just shocked. The mighty Yankees getting spanked. Possible sweep tomorrow??? Game and a half behind the Yankees. Who would have thunk? So many Jays fan off the bandwagon just a month ago. I never gave up on them. Seen too many amazing comebacks this season. This team is special. Not going all the way, but the way this team has a knack of winning and never giving up. The way they have fun. The most dangerous team to be playing against in September is a team like Cleveland. Not close to making it in, so they take the role of spoiler. Nothing to lose.

Jays down 3-0 in Cleveland bottom of 2nd inning. Jays defence not doing great. And Robie Ray. WTF? He never pitches well agains the Orioles, but here he is. It doesn't look like he's going to settle down. After sweeping a powerful team like the Yankees to blow it............ nuff said.

Orioles vs Blue Jays......... a lot of tweeting between Robbie Ray and Hyde. Lots of swearing and fowl language. Clear as an Arizona summer day. I guess nobody can beep out the foul language. Dude should be a little more respectful of fans and listeners of the broadcast. Brandon Hyde is an asshole. No doubt about it. Jays can't let him get under your skin. Best way to shut that MoFo is to sweep them in this series on their turf.

Charlie Montoyo goes to the mound to talk to Hyun Jin Ryu. Hyun Jin convinces Charlie that he’s okay. It was 5-3 for the Orioles at that time. Should have pulled him then, cause it’s 7-3 now. When wins are so important, forget giving your starting pitcher that choice.

Good thing the Jays can score. It’s now a 7-5 deficit.

Because it’s a double header, each game is only 7 innings long.

MG1
09-11-2021, 03:41 PM
Down 10-5, you think they're done for?

Nope. Another day at the office. Jays storm back and lead 11-10 bottom of the 7th and last inning. Pitching has to get it done. How many fucking times do the batters have to bail you guys out? 3 outs and you win.

Romano better not be RomaNO!

MG1
09-11-2021, 03:52 PM
WIN!

Pitching right to the last out was shitting the bed. This game was not won because of great pitching. Great fielding saved this game. Romano was holding his head when outfielder ran over and caught the ball with no room for error. Prior to that it was the third baseman who ran hard to catch a foul ball. He was in the shift and outfielders were deep.

Still announcers defending the pitchers. A win is a win, I guess.

If any of you are interested in following the Jays, it's on Sportsnet on cable, MLB Blue Jays Baseball on Sirius XM both Internet and live. They're also on local radio Sportsnet 650 AM. I get terrible AM radio reception, so listen to it via RadioPlayer app. Same with News 1130. Thing about streaming Sportsnet 650 is that it is very unreliable, as in, hit or miss. Blackouts and whatnot. I was listening to the first inning this morning and I was surprised. Then, all of a sudden the coverage changed to something else. CBS holds the rights and blocked it, I guess.

Oh, Vladdy hit his 43rd. Tied with SHohei Ohtani. Damn............

Steven Matz not doing well at the bottom of the 2nd. Bases loaded with one out. 6-1. Maybe he'll pull out of this inning with minimal damage.

Pitchers are the weak link on this team.

6-3 at the end of the second. What's with the Orioles? They're in last place, ffs. All of a sudden, they're on fire. They stealing signs or something?

MG1

LOL, steal all the signs you want, get under the skin of the pitchers, mouth off, etc. Jays' bats are doing the talking.

Back to back doubles and now it's 9-3. with one out. That one out was due to Valera getting caught between first and second, lol. A classic rundown.

Correction....10-3 and still going strong with one out and bases loaded.

Damn, it doesn't stop. Another Grand Slam by Teoscar. 14 to 3!!!

One out, still and it's only the top of the 3rd inning in a full nine inning game. Me thinks the rest of the league are getting a little worried right now.

You'd think a 16-3 lead would be enough........... Blue Jays' pitcher gives up a solo homer. I was going to say, no hitter on this planet would give up that many runs, lol.

Tomorrow's game against the Tampa Bay Rays is going to be challenging to say the least. Tampa Bay is on a whole new level. Good thing Jays won't be facing teams like the San Fransisco Giants or the LA Dodgers. So, 3 game series against Tampa Bay, then a three game series starting on Friday against Minnisota. Immediately afterwards a 3 game series against the division leading Tamps Bay Rays again, but in Tampa. After all that, a 4 game series with Minnisota and a 3 game series against the big, bad Yankees. Last three games of the season is a 3 game home stand to end the season with none other than the Baltimore Orioles.

If The Jays can hang with the Tampa Bay Rays, they have what it takes to go onto the World Series.

Let's go, Blue Jays!

Holy vas deferens, Blue Jays keep pouring it on.

For reference............ there is no, no mercy rule in baseball.

Jays broke a record that has stood the test of time till this series. Since 1901, no team has scored more runs in a four inning span. 27 runs. Obscure record, for sure, but in the history books nonetheless.

With such a big lead, the Jays can afford to rest some players. Bullpen getting much needed rest in preparation against the Rays. Want to see Vladdy get another one. Good thing he's a DH.

Not Blue Jays related, but history in the making.

https://www.mlb.com/video/max-scherzer-s-immaculate-inning

Why stop there? 3000 strike outs coming up for Scherzer. Not too many pitchers get close to that. Right now at 2999.

Pineapple Express starts off the 4 run 4th inning. Manoah has that really dirty slider. So much movement.

Ji Man Choi............. balk choi.

Holy Darth Maul, 7-0 Jays. They keep pouring it on. Manoah might pitch all 9 innings. Getting 30 minutes rest between innings. Has any team in MLB run out of pitchers? LOL.

Vladdy Jr. gets one more home run than the old man............ pops be proud, man. 113+ MPH off the bat line drive out of the park. 45 runs this season, so far. 22 year old.

Dayuuuummmmmmmnnnnnnnnnn...............

Eddie Mathews with 47, Joe DiMaggio with 46, and Johnny Bench with 45 Vladdy tied with 45. How many games left? It doesn't get any better than this. Jays breaking all kinds of records this season.

Jays can break all the records they want - but if they don't make an impact in the post season, I feel like it could be a real let down. After all, it will be tough to keep this group together as guys like Bichette and Vladdy are on cheap deals.

It would be a shame if they didn't make an impact in the post season, but I love this team because of the players and how they love playing the game. The journey they've gone through, being homeless for nearly two years. They kept positive and kept believing in each other.

It's been a wild ride, too. Love it.

The wheels might fall off at any moment. Always prepared for that.......... I used to be a Canucks fan, Gulolol.

I can only imagine what record they could have had if they played the entire year out of Toronto.

Unfortunate BJ's couldn't get into wild card play. What crazy ending to the AL season, down to the final game of the season.

:tears:

was a great season. as a typically casual MLB fan (and jays fan) i usually watch some jays in 30's and try to keep a basic eye on the league.

i watched more innings of baseball this year than in the last 5. This is such a young & exciting team.

Desperately hoping they can keep most of these guys next year. They're going to be hungry as hell - and I already can't wait for next season.

Really hope all this shit is behind us next year so we can get to the "western canada home stand" in seattle.

Valiant effort for the season, was really great to see how far they've come in the last few seasons but still room for improvement especially with the bullpen

Hectic last month for the AL wildcard spot, almost had a potential for a 4 way tie! Also was rooting for Mariners to make the playoffs for the first time in god knows how long

IMO, the Jays need to upgrade their bullpen if they want to make it to the post season next year.

Their relief pitchers have blown too many games instead of getting the saves this season.

If there was one sport that I think should revamp their season and playoff format, it's MLB. (Right now, 3 division leaders get in and 2 wildcards.)

1. reduce the number of meaningless regular season games ... ridiculous how many games they play. (162 down to say 130 ... even then, it's ridiculous).

2. increase number of teams into playoffs ... maybe like NHL, 8 teams on each side (AL and NL). Maybe top 2 teams in each division get in plus 2 wildcards. Afterall, playoff baseball is more exciting and that's when people actually watch, and stadiums are filled, you can charge more for tickets, etc. Split some of the revenue for the playoff games around the league (for the lost of 30 games in the season = 15 home games).

Totally MLB playoff format is the dumbest thing. I feel bad for so many teams every year because you know they deserve a chance and are a "playoff team" just not under the dumb format they aren't. Wasn't the wild card like sort of new too and it was even worse before?
