2022 Blue Jays
Watching Jays vs Pirates, atm............. damn, I missed baseball.
Anyway, the Blue Jays have another powerful team this year. Some say they're definitely a World Series contender.
Players are still having fun. So great to see.
Damn, Buck Martinez looks way older than he did last year (Covid?). Spring training home games are in Dunedin. Can't wait to see them play in Toronto. Home plate lady, ftw!
Time to bring out the Hazel Mae, Charlie Montoyo, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Bobbleheads, lol. Funko shit, as well.

can't wait for Jays! Matt Chapman is a huge acquisition.
Hope Vladdy can have another big power year.

Not really a fan of any particular team but I do enjoy following baseball to some degree and I have to admit the Jays were pretty fun to watch last year which says a lot because I unfairly just don't support anything Toronto period lol. Chapman is a damn stud on D at 3rd and the Jays rotation as a whole has a shit ton of ground outs with Ryu I think ranking in top 3 last year alone. Should be fun!
Yup, Chapman is icing on the cake.
Pitching shouldn't have been an issue last year, but it was. Injuries.......... please, no injuries.
I noticed how happy Chapman looked during practice/warmup.
Such a great organization. From the owner down to the coaching and training staff.
I have to check this year's lineup. See who's gone.
Watching Jays vs Yankees game right now 9-2 lead. Nothing new. What's interesting in this game is the Jays are testing out some cool technology. Teams are always worried about sign stealing, so the solution is to send signals via arm pad to a Siri-type receiver in the hat of the pitcher. Catcher pushes a button on the armpad and through nods by the pitcher, the deal's done.
I can see the other teams intercepting the signal or jamming the frequency, lol.
Awesome to see technology playing part in sports. It's totally legal in the eyes of the league. The Rays used the technology on Saturday.
https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/rays-debut-wearable-pitch-signaling-devices-in-spring-training-game-vs-braves/
I hope Chapman is okay. Left the game with an arm injury. Collision at third base where he got spiked. He hung onto the ball and runner was called out. Good thing it's not like hockey where a player gets sliced by a skate. Bleeding but didn't look like a deep puncture. Anyway........... a hockey player would have just sucked it up, hee hee...............

Not even a big baseball fan but nothing quite like having a few beers mid summer evening at a ball park (comparing to watching other sporting events)
Yup, that's exactly what it is.............. Baseball is that kind of sport. Well, for the majority of fans, lol.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlwII9fQlwU
I had forgotten how big Alek Manoah is. Dude can pitch. In his debut game last year, he faced the Yankees in NY where he faced some great hitters. No walks, two base hits, and no runs. Former Vancouver Canadians player, too. Just has to stop hitting batters. Hit 16 batters last year and in this afternoon's game he has already hit two batters. Maybe that's why he's so successful - batters are scared of getting hit, lol.
I believe pitching was the Jay's greatest downfall last year. Hyun Jin Ryu shit the bed on a regular basis. The others were not pitching up to their potential. If it weren't for the hitting, the Jays would not have been one game from going into the post season. 91 wins or something like that? Losing to those damn Yankees in the last three game series in the regular season was hard to take.
Most memorable incident of last year? The game where the Tampa Bay Rays picked up the dropped card by Jays' catcher Alexandro Kirk.

losing those Yankees games wasn't as salty as the 2 losses to the Twins the week before.
should have won those games and punched their tickets
Ryu would sprinkle in moments of greatness, but his ERA was terrible.
Losing Semien... impossible to replace.
I have high hopes tho. Home opener is next Friday!!!! All aboard the Bo Bichette Band Wagon!
Like Buck Martinez stated many a times these past few days, a lot of the young Jays players have never witnessed a full house on opening day at Rogers Centre. I can't wait to see it. Pre-game, game, and post game.
José Berrios starting pitcher in the home opener. I almost forgot about Robbie Ray. Seattle must be happy. AL Cy Young winner in 2021. Jays signed Kevin Gausman to a 110M 5 year deal, while Seattle got Robbie Ray for 115M 5 year contract. Hmmmmmmm............
https://www.mlb.com/news/blue-jays-2022-offseason-reset
Is the RONA home run jacket still a thing? I've watched a few spring training games, but don't recall seeing it. Maybe not until the season starts. Colour of jacket reminds me of RONA, that's all.
Also looking forward to Hazel Mae Gatorade Showers............. I have Hazel Mae bobblehead, complete with gatorade bucket that also bobbles, lol. She's wearing the red dress she wore during the Justin Smoak interview.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACZAcJEkYWw
She learned her lesson. Don't think she's been victim of that since. She's pretty quick now......... sixth sense.
As an added bonus...............
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyV0pXDFBxE
Kikuchi.......... not sure if he's a good pitcher, but holy crap. The fastest relay to second base I've ever seen. Resulted in a double play. I had to watch it twice.
Reese McQuire's catcher interference play was kind of interesting. Stuck his catcher's mitt in front of bat on the swing through. Mitt was knocked off his hands by the bat. I've never seen that in MLB..........
This Lukes dude. I like his effort. Actually today has some new faces. Prospects? Trying to get into the regular season lineup or at the least get some exposure. Get called up due to injuries and whatnot. No Guerrero, Bichette, Springer, Gurriel, today.
Hahahahaha............. April Fools Joke on announcers. These are Pirates announcers, not Buck Martinez and Dan Shulman. Player number 44 , Sloof Lirpa. They're trying to find out who this player is, lol. They eventually figured it out.
GAME OPENER on NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
Watching pre-game show............
Berrios starting pitcher.
Hazel Mae wearing bright yellow. Looks like a Pikachu. But whatever.............. it's like summer again.
Blue Jays World Series not just contenders but most likely to win it.............. wow!
Also Sprach Zarathustra....... never gets old. Unless it's that cringe worthy Lexus commercial. Fuck, that ad is so fucking dumb. Strauss, ftmfw!
Wow, three Silver Slugger award recipients at the game. Teoscar, Vladdy, and Marcus.
Hank Aaron's wife along with Montoyo giving the 2021 Hank Aaron Award to Vladdy.
Olympians being honoured, as well. Those Olympic medals look like soup can lids. Bwahahahahaha.......... Vancouver 2010 medals 1001 times better.

not to mention aussie GP tomorrow night

Texas better not rain on Toronto's parade today.
Home Plate Lady! She's baaaaaaack, lol.
Berrios opening day jitters. Down 2-0 with no outs. Yikes.
So much for Berrios............ Down 4-0 before they get a crack at the ball.
I spot the Home Run Jacket hanging on the wall. Hopefully see it lots this season.

In regards to the Canadians prior to Covid it was very hard to get tickets through their site etc. I’d usually have to buy on CL
Now almost every game is available, I’ve purchased tickets to a handful of single games and had full pick of ky tickets. For $20 I suggest everyone snap some up now before they realize they are so easily accessible
30 games in 31 days........... crazy start to the season. 10 games in a row now, one day off, then 20 games in a row.
Down 7-0, the Jays start to roll........... bases loaded with no outs. It's now 7-3 with two outs. Bottom of the 4th, so there's still some time left. Go, Jays, GO!!!!
Addendum: Tie Game 7-7!!! Bottom of the 5th.
Charlie, there it is!!!!
New Home Run Jacket, and Teoscar gets to wear it!
Teoscar is a beast! Dude got sent down to the minors. Took it like a man and came back better. Much better. He's the reason why the Jays are in the lead right now. Three run homer. amazing catch to end a Texas offensive push, then beats out the throw at home plate. May turn out to be the winning run. 9-8 top of the 8th.
First look at Garcia. 8th inning pitcher, before Romano steps in. Go, Jays, GO!!!!
Man, that Guerrero can move for a big man. Over the head catch.
Did not know that Romano, Blue Jays closer, is a local (Markham, Ontario) boy. 10 - 8 lead. 3 outs from winning the home opener.
Damn, this game is a nail biter. Garcia facing Semien after walking Miller. Semien flys out. Side is over. Mayza up at the bull pen? Hmmmmm......
YES!!!! Danny Janzen hits a homer. Home Run Jacket getting a little wet.

Was only able to have enough time and tuned in right as it was Springer and Bo on base down 7-0 then watched until it was 8-8. Good group of dudes looks like we'll see more of this all year. Fun times.
Amazing sliding catch by Gurriel to prevent a double, maybe triple. One out from ending the game, everyone on their feet. YES!!!!!!! Strike out!
We Win!!!!

Four hits so far for Vladdy......... hits a 424 footer - second deck at Yankee Stadium. Three home runs, so far........ two off Gerrit Cole! This after he gets stepped on. Blood dripping, he got it bandaged up and hit two homers. Damn............
Jays were leading 3-0 when damn Yankees tied it up. It's 6-3 lead for Jays at bottom of 8th inning.
Marking Friday's home game on the must watch games list. Jackie Robinson Night. I knew Jackie Robinson was a legend, but I was amazed, after watching a movie (pretty accurate account of his story) at how much shit he took back when he started in the big league. Amazing how humans can treat another human like dirt. Anyway, dude broke the barrier and opened up baseball to players of all backgrounds.
Frick, those Yankees........... 6-4 now. Trying to forget last night's game.
Two outs with man on first and Giancarlo is up.......... Richards the pitcher. Not looking good.
Nice finish! In Romano, we trust. 1 out with runner on first. Aaaron Judge of all people at the plate. Romano suckers Judge with a high heater. Then, Vladdy snags a line drive off the bat of Josh Donaldson that most people would have missed, to end the game. Go ahead, Yankees, step on his hands......... you know he's going to punish you with his homers and his amazing fielding, lol. For a big man, he moves quick.

What writers do you guys follow to get news on the Jays?
I watch or listen to every game. I use to have SiriusXM until recently. They more than doubled their subscription. I was wAndering what to do when in the car. No local stations or Internet radio stations carry the Blue Jays. Sportsnet 650 is supposed to, but the games are always blacked out. Even Sportsnet 590 The Fan, based out of Toronto, and on Radio Player app, doesn't carry the games, or it can't be listened to here in BC. I kept watching that Sportsnet Now Life Coach (what an annoying guy) ads. Anyway, a light went on. Why not stream the game on Sportsnet Now? I saw the subscription fee and said, no. Turns out, after doing some research, that Sportsnet Now is free to those who subscribe to Sportsnet via Cable, whether it be Rogers, Bell, or Shaw!!!!! It works!
Anyway, watched most of the game live on my iPhone while in the car. Then when I got to Chinatown, the connection was a little spotty, but it did the trick. Secret is to turn off WiFi. I have unlimited data, so it's all good. If I were to be in one place, let's say the casino, then WiFi would be great.
The Sportsnet crew are pretty darn good at what they do. So many stories. Especially, Buck Martinez. It's like the Canucks crew. John Garret. Former players = gold. They travel with the team, so they get the inside scoop on everything.
Holy Mohammed, jesus, Buddha, Zeus, Hondaracer, Brahman, etc.............. Buck Martinez has cancer and is going in for treatment. Today being the last day............. I hope whatever it is, he comes back before the playoffs. Usually, I don't give a shit about celebs, athletes, entertainers, RS members, god bless, whatever, butt, this man gets my prayers.

He's getting pretty old. Most guys would be senile at his age. Biden like.
Not as sharp anymore, but the stories and the experiences as a player and coach. Insights into the games. The guy lives and breathes baseball.
That Hazel Mae is getting good at avoiding getting doused. I look forward to the post-game interviews, lol.
No game tomorrow......... gonna have withdrawals. Starting Tuesday, however, 20 straight games, OMG!!! Let's go, Blue Jays.
I'm kicking myself for not visiting Fenway Park when I took that cross continent road trip. I was in Boston in August. It's the oldest stadium in MLB.
Peskey's Pole and The Green Monster.
https://fanbuzz.com/mlb/green-monster-fenway-park/
Holy crap............ Trevor Story just got beaned in the head by a 93 MPH pitch. Even watching it in slo-mo, it was scary. If it wasn't for the ear flap Story would have a cracked skull.
Jays up 5-1 bottom of 4th.
Wow, did not know Fenway Park opened its doors for the first time 110 years ago today! 4/20
Damn, I thought Katoh was Couteau or some other Euro name. Dude reminds me of our own baseball player, Kunoman. Born in California, Kotoh was called up last night. He's a lefty, which is a big deal against today's pitcher.
Anyway, anyone know what happened to our baseball player, Kuno? He was in college baseball and coached baseball in chinar. Really interesting youngster. Not your run of the mill, boring, RS member, gulolol. :troll:
Gausman is a beast. So "economical". 80 pitches in 8 innings. Has everybody chasin' the ball The hits the Red Soxs get are loopers and grounders. Blue Jays' defence is pretty good. That part of their game has improved quite a bit since last year.
Go, Jays, GO!!!!
What I'd give for a Bo Flow Bobblehead. And, on May 4th, a Chewbacca Messenger Bag.
https://www.mlb.com/bluejays/tickets/theme-days/star-wars
Anyone RS members live in TO?
Wow, that was an unexpected ending......... Romano gets it done. 3-2 win. What was with the Stanley cup between Jamie Campbell and Joe Siddall? It was there, and now it's gone.
Martinez will be missed, no doubt about it. But, Pat Tabler works well with Dan Schulman. Tabby, not too shabby.
The Producer

sketchy ending. was hoping Gausman would get to finish his shutout
Montoyo was playing it safe. I think it was possible. He wasn't even tired. One man on was all it took. How many pitchers in today's game get to finish the game?
Kershaw got pulled after a perfect game of 8 innings. The team went on to win 7-0. WTH? It's early in the season and with a 7-0 lead?
Not MLB, but.................

I get it. The game has evolved. There's talk of banning the shift. Why? All teams are in the same boat. Some teams are better at adjusting to the shift. Another rule change to happen soon is the pitch count. It speeds up the game without affecting the play, but who's in a hurry? It's only going to happen if there are runners on base. Hell, that mean Vladdy can't chat it up with the runners on first, lol.
Down 0-3, the Jays come back and Jordan Romano with 31 straight saves.......... runners on the corners with one out. 98-99 mph pitches. Strikes out the last two at plate.
Chapman hits a double wit hVladdy on first base. For a big man, he can run.

I want that "Bo Flo" Bobblehead!!!!
I just love how the players hug each other............ Vladdy and Bo have been friends forever. Gurriel, Springer, Manoah, every player on that team having genuine fun out there. That's what I love about this team. Doesn't matter if they win or lose. It's great to see. Refreshing is more like it. Okay, Pete Walker is a little grumpy, but someone has to be serious on that team.
I really thought the Jays were going to lose this game. Down 5-3 at the bottom of the 9th. They tie it, forcing it to extra innings. Bottom of 10th, bases loaded, new guy, Tapia hits the ball into left field. Bo Bichette tags up and that's it, WIN!
I switched over to watching the Canucks............ I did the, "Siri, Blue Jays score........ " 5-5 tie at the bottom of the 10th. well shit.......... I hit the last button on the Blue Curve remote. Something wasn't right. Fuck me, do you want to delete this recording shows up. I was watching the recording and the..... anyway, watched it live just when Tapia was up to plate. 1 out and bases loaded. WTF??????/ Anyway.............

close game last night. Kikuchi needed a good showing and got one.
Need some run support tho. You're just not going to win a lot of games w only a couple of runs no matter how well the defense is playing.
Should be a good series in Cleveland before it's back to NY for even more Yankees
Brutal early schedule
I guess we all get used to changes, but Guardians??? Atlanta still Braves. I guess as long as fans don't do the tomahawk, it's okay?
As for NY, that team is just tough as they come. Judge is a magnetic force of a man (no homo). Giancarlo isn't tiny, either. Judge isn't even the tallest player on the Yankees team at 6 ft 8 inches........... damn.
Steven Kwan just hit a homer to tie the game.
Hopefully Teoscar comes back into the lineup soon.
I saw that homer where dude gives the ball to the little kid. So nice to see shit like that. Unlike the messed up fans at Yankee Stadium. The incident where fans started pelting the other team with beer cans and garbage. No class...........
Cot Dam............. got home just in time to watch the baseball game. I turned on the sound system before I turned on the screen............. all of a sudden I hear a whole bunch of asian women screaming. I had the volume quite high. Neighbours probably thought I was watching some asian p0rn. Fuck me......... the baseball game was postponed due to bad weather. Sportsnet in place of the baseball game had women's curling on. Korean chicks yelling in unison............ kind of kinky. Anyway...................... lesson learned. TV on first, then sound system, gulolol.
Gotta love curling............

The blatant mishap was corrected in the baseball game that followed, where the score was replaced with the current odds while the commentary alternated between betting strategies and talk about all the luxuries you could buy with a nice windfall.
Hazel gets the Gatorade shower. Everybody saw it coming. It was total bukkake. She was in her red dress, too. Interviewing Bo Bichette. Both got it good. Guerrero Jr. is the master. Snuck up and did it perfectly. Hazel goes, “I need a new job.” I feel her………. I mean, I feel for her.
On a side note Manoah, the gentle giant so wanted to pitch the 9th inning and he could have done it. No reason to take unnecessary chances. I want to see the Jays sweep the series. It’ll be the first of the season.
They keep on saying, "It's too early to panic." It's time to panic, IMHO. Starters are doing fine, but hell, pull them when the pitch count goes up. Bull Pen not doing great. So many runners stranded. Oh well................ this is how the cookie crumbles.
Series opener today against LA Angels/ Hyun Jin Ryu vs Shohei Ohtani.
Jays are coming off an 8-1 win over the Cardinals. Bats finally coming alive........... or just a blip? The season hasn't exactly been going well, so far.
It's in LA, so game time is 6:38.
Tomorrow's game is not on any television network, but you can watch it on Apple TV. Good news is, it's free as long as you have Apple ID. Weird, weird, weird........ the game is on. I have it playing on my iPhone, my laptop, and on Sirius XM. iPhone is a few seconds ahead of the laptop. Sirius XM is quite a bit behind. On the Apple TV, there are no commercials, so they have a blank screen with "Friday Night Baseball." At the bottom in smaller text, "We'll be right back after a commercial break."
Play by play is decent. One dude and one chick. Image is crystal clear. Stats look good.

I can’t believe how good the game looks on my AppleTV
For comparison, we watch all the other games on SN app on AppleTV (don’t have cable)
Same streaming box - same tv. 1000% better picture tonight. The audio is amazing too.
SN now is a service I pay annually for (we don’t have cable) and I realize they’re screwing me.
Goes to show how good live event streaming can be, but they don’t give it to you.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yup, the picture is a little better than what I usually get via HDTV, but the sound is amazing. You can hear what fans are saying........ even players cursing under their breath at umpires, lol.
I miss Tabby, Shulman, Hazel, and the rest of the crew. And, the ads from Ontario, lol.
Must admit, never seen a baseball game on my MacBook Pro this eye popping.
When they showed the throw at the plate by Bichette in slow mo, I was like, damn. Beat out the runner by a few specs of dirt.
I also like the simplicity of the score count and the other info in the background. Nicely done, IMHO.
Romano strikes out Ohtani to end the game............ another close one run game. Good win! Fans chanting, "MVP, MVP, MVP," for Ohtani, not Guerrero, lol. MVP and runner up MVP from last year.
Damn, it's like watching Japanese Baseball League. Kikuchi pitching against Ohtani. Suzuki catching for Angels. Yakult, Yamada, Nishikawa, Bandai Namco, Yokohama Tire, Funai, Daiso Japan, JAE (Japan Aviation Electronics), Nitto Tire and a few more local business ads around the park.
Ohtani is pretty popular in japan, so most likely the ads are there for that viewership. Also noticed more than usual amount of asian faces in the crowd. Actually, more pronounced yesterday, due to awesome Apple TV+ streaming video resolution.
I hope Suzuki is okay. Dude got hit in the neck by his pitcher during warmups. Looked pretty innocent at first, but shit........ dude got groggy and they barely kept him vertical by the time they got him to the dugout. I'm surprised they didn't get a stretcher out at that time. His body went limp.........
.
okay, Kurt Suzuki is American (Hawaii).

Shaky finish for the jays but they got it done in all its low resolution SN glory.
Suzuki is going to be ok. I actually had to find a different stream to find the footage. Looked innocent but must have caught just right in the collar bone. Never like seeing a dude go limp.
Hopefully they can finish the sweep tomorrow. Maybe the ball will travel a little better during the day - jano should’ve had the homer tonight.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Neck contusion. SN had a slo mo shot from a different angle and it hit him in the neck after the ball grazed his shoulder area. Good thing it was off the dirt and off another part before hitting his neck. Still enough momentum to cause him to lose control like that in the end. He looked like he was winded at first. Stumbled a bit when he got up. Swelling in the neck might have prevented normal blood flow to the brain?
Report after the game mentioned it was a neck contusion and he was "aware".
On a side note, I got a huge chuckle out of that Junior Jays commercial with "Mabel Hayes." I don't think a lot of people would get it........
Damn, two homers for Ohtani, so far. Gave the Angels a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Just hit his second to drive in 2 more runs. Jays were ahead 6-2. Now 6-4.
Angels second run was amazing. Never saw a player run so fast around the bases. Should have been a double....... a single for a guy like Kirk, but Rengifo made it to third and then home because of a poor throw. An in the field, solo home run. Wow! Berrios just got pulled from the game with runners on the corners and only one out. Borucki is in and he's facing the Wookie. No, not a rookie, a Wookie (Brandon Marsh).
https://www.pitcherlist.com/wlb-awards-wookie-of-the-year/
Freakin' hell............ it's 6-6. Rengifo runs like he stole something and scores from first base!!!!!! FU!!!!!!! Good news is, it's only bottom of 3rd.
Jays down 9-6. Top of 7th, they load the bases. one run scores on a walk and another with an amazing infield base hit. Holy crap, another bases loaded walk............ it's tied at 9-9 with only one out!
Damnit.......... double play, 9-9 score. This game should have been over, time wise, 20 minutes ago.
This game is simply nuts............. Sunday afternoon special. Tied 9-9, Angels get a solo home run. Blue Jays up to bat at the top of the 8th. Bichette hits a solo home run to tie it at 10 a piece. Kirk then hits a double. Jays fans go nuts, 'cause Guerrero, who was supposed to have a day off, comes to plate. Angels manager signals umpire that he wants an intentional walk. Gurriel Jr then hits a single. It's now 11-10 at the bottom of the 8th. Top of the lineup for Jays' pitcher, Garcia. This could be bad for the Jays.............. not sure if Garcia has what it takes.
WIN!!!!!!!!!!
Sweep and five wins in a row. So much for gardening. The weeds get to live another day, gulolol.
Wow, Jays can sweep the Twins today, but Kikuchi is shitting the bed. First inning and 3 runs have scored. This guy is not worth saving, Pete! There he goes............replaced after 2/3 of an inning. About 40 pitches in that period and 4 walks. Hyun Jin is probably gone for a long time from the sounds of it. Trent Thornton in. Side is retired, thank god.
I have faith in the bats. Royally kick KC in the butt(s). Go, Jays, GO!!!!!
Can Kirk continue the awesome run of hits? Wait........... no Kirk or Hernandez????? Looked like Hernandez was finally getting it together. Oh well, Charlie knows what he's doing.
Raimel Tapia hits a solo homer. 3-1 Royals. 440 foot home run. Damn..........

Well, winning two out of three games against the MLB's worst team the Royals is not too bad haha.
The Jays are going to have issues with their pitching rotation. Ryu is on the IL for at least 10 days because of a forearm injury.
Kikuchi is playing awful now.
What can Montoya do?
Montoyo can bring up all kinds of pitchers. I keep forgetting the Vancouver Canadians are one of the Jays' minor league affiliates. Alek Manoah pitched for the Vancouver Canadians at one point.
https://theprovince.com/sports/baseball/aces-changing-places-vancouver-canadians-add-two-top-pitchers-but-then-lose-pair-as-toronto-blue-jays-shuffle-farm-system
https://www.milb.com/vancouver/news/1st-rounder-rhp-alek-manoah-to-debut-tonight-in-spokane-309466806
On a side note, I was at Canadian Tire on Grandview Hwy and went into the sports fan section by the front entrance. There, my little eye spotted a Funko Pop, Bo Bichette. Snatched it up. Now that I've taken down the Vancouver Canucks shrine of 45+ years, I have plenty of room for its replacement - the Jays' Shrine. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. bobble head and Funko Pop, Funko Pop Ace, Charlie Montoyo playing bongos bobblehead, etc. I even have a Hazel Mae bobblehead, complete with bobble gatorade bucket, lol. I did, however, keep the Vancouver Canucks "Heart and Soul" plaque.
For the love of Kahless, the Jays are on faiyah!
Bottom of second inning, the Jays are on top 6-0.
Detroit Tigers.
Vladdy still not right.
Fricken rain.......... please hold off until after the fifth
Like Seattle, lots of Jays fans from Ontario.
Crap............. game delay.
Shortest rain delay I've ever seen. Top of 6th 10-0 lead now.
All this talk about the newest addition to the Jays' lineup, Gabriel Moreno. He made his debut yesterday and got his first major league hit - a single. Moreno is ranked 4th prospect in 2022. "Miggy," Miguel Cabrera of Detroit Tigers, a fellow Venezuelan, was honoured today at Comerica Park (3000th hit). Cabrero is Moreno's idol.
https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2022/06/11/very-emotional-blue-jays-top-prospect-meets-idol-miguel-cabrera-then-collects-first-hit/7598547001/

Stippling pitching today and Moreno looks like he's been with Strippling for a while. Pitch Com helps...........
Today's game is the rubber match. Toronto won 10-1 on Friday and lost 3-1 yesterday.
0-0 Top of 3rd.
Go, Jays, GO!!
Jays hosting Baltimore Orioles today............ 9-0 lead without a homer. Nice! Bottom of 5th.
As far as birds go, Blue Jays > Orioles. Cardinals, not sure, lol.

Watched the Jays game yesterday. My first time sitting and watching a game in full in years!
Even though it was just Baltimore, it looks like they are really ramping up. Good depth this year. Manoha is a beast.
Manoah is huge, but a gentle giant. He fits right in with the team. Loves to have fun. Gotta love players, especially pitchers, who love to mingle with the other teammates in La Barrio (dugout).

The Blue Jays have some good talent coming up from their minor league affiliates. Just watch the games at the Nat.
Cot Dam, it’s Kikuchi today. If he shits the bed again, we gonna call him Yuseless Kikuchi, instead of Yusei Kikuchi.
On another subject, this Moreno kid is all that he’s cracked up to be. That throw to take out one of MLB’s. biggest thief was simply amazing. The speed and accuracy. Wow. Go, Jays, GO!

I know I could just look it up but you seem to be in the know lol. The Jays have made quite a few moves in recent history while trading a lot of their at the time highly ranked prospects. Have any of them turned into anything for their new teams yet?
No idea, lol. I don't really care what traded players do. Robbie Ray, maybe. Anyway, today's game was weird. Jays were leading 5-0 at one point. Orioles come back to tie the game 6-6. it goes into extra innings. 4 hits by Vladdy today, including a solo home run. Walk off RBI to end the game. I have no idea what the Oriole's manager was thinking. Bo Bichette on second base and Vladdy comes to plate. All it takes is one run to win the game. If you intentionally walk Vladdy, you have runners on first and second for possible double play. Nope, Vladdy hits the ball into the outfield and Bichette runs like the wind and game is over. Vladdy took his own medicine. Three gatorade showers. It's pay back time........

The Jays haven't necessarily traded away many of their top prospects. The only one I can think of would be Austin Martin to the Twins (along with Simeon Woods-Richardson) who was one of their most highly prized draft picks in years in exchange for Berrios. Right now Berrios is dealing, while Martin is meddling in the minors. I would keep your eye on those 2 guys the most if you are interested. Other than Berrios, most of the biggest names we've signed over the past 2 years came out of free agent signings.

That pitcher isn't known for ground balls, so that rules out the double play. If you walk Vlad, you've got Teo and Kirk up after so it's not like that's any easier. Don't get me wrong, I am glad he pitched to Vlad but I can see why he gambled on the fastball vs power hitter.
Only top of the 4th, but the Jays are in tough today. Down 7-0.
Mountcastle, nuff said.
Big, bad Yankees in town starting tomorrow.

Man, with Gausman pitching as well. Not good that the Jays are only going to get 2 wins out of Baltimore.
What the hell? Kirk is one of the best hitters in the AL. He gets hit by a pitch and the NY bench was looking to challenge the call to say he did not get hit. If I were them, I'd be happy he got a free base out of it.
Then, to really mess things up, Kirk, probably the slowest runner on the Jays' team tags up and runs to third on a fly ball. With Judge, of all people fielding the ball. Man, he was moving fast for a big guy.
New York is so explosive, no lead is safe.
On a side note, the usual blonde server chick with the pony tail is not working today at the game. She serves the people in the VIP section where the Home Plate Lady lives. Instead, they have a smoking hot brunette working there. :megusta: This is when I wish the game was covered by Apple TV+, lol.

Yankees are scary good this year, if they can stay healthy good luck to any teams catching them.
Yup, I don't think there's a team in MLB right now that can win a series against them. It's almost unfair. The Jays can't keep up with them. If Manoah can't get it done tomorrow, Jays will get swept. As for Baltimore, I think they are on the way up. Not the crappy team of the past. They are a better team this year. Red Sox, then Tampa Bay Rays........... still about 100 games left. Strange things happen after the All Star Break. Maybe the wheels will fall off the Yankees' bus and Toronto will go on a tear..........
For crying out loud, please stop airing those Windows 11 ads........ so annoying. Why is it it Microsoft fails at commercials.
Captain Kirk doesn't need to run, he just hits it out of the park. Mexico represent! 10-2. I feel a comeback in the works.
OMFG!!!! A Vlad & Dad Bobblehead giveaway for first 1500 fans.......... I need to move to Toronto.
WTH????
I missed most of the game today. Watched beginning and thought to myself, "Sweep!" Not so Yuseful Kikuchi was doing what he does best........... shit the bed. Checked the score as soon as the movie I watched ended. I was pleasantly surprised. I record all games, but rarely watch any after the fact. Gonna watch the ending of this one. Must have been quite the finish. Anyhow..................
EDIT: To be fair, Kikuchi only fell behind 3-2 and actually struck out The Judge. Pitch count was so high in such a short time.
Damn, we actually beat the Yankees!!!
Gausman starts for Blue Jays today. He's the Ensign Kim of MLB. Everybody has him figured out. He's like a book. Apparently, he has made adjustments for today. We'll see.
Cease and Desist!
Chicago's pitcher looks intimidating. Yikes. His numbers for the season are impressive. Three up, three down.......... let's hope we don't hear that too much. Get the pitch count high on this guy and deal with whoever comes in afterward.
Go, Jays, GO!!!
Hats off to Espinal. Most players would be breaking or throwing bats after all those stupid calls by the home plate umpires. It's almost like a conspiracy. How can you call a strike when the ball is clearly more than four inches off the plate?
Solution: Roboump?
It's not reliable, but it has got to be better than this guy, lol.

https://www.golfdigest.com/story/mlb-umpire-doug-edding-blown-calls-blue-jays-white-sox
Not sure if it was planned by Charlie Montoyo, or not, but hitting coach, Guillermo Martinez, who rarely goes out to give the line up card to the umps, gets ejected before the game started. Montoyo has been ejected a league leading 4 times already, lol. Gotta love it when coaching staff sticks up for their players. Pitching coach, Pete Walker, was ejected the day before. The Jays would have easily won those close games if it weren't for the bullshit calls. Yesterday's game sure changed, though. Home plate umpire did a way better job of making calls. It's almost as if someone said, "Okay, let's not screw with the Toronto Blue Jays too much today.......... heat's coming down on us. We'll screw 'em over next time." I so wished Espinal would hit one out of the park, so he could turn around and give a big smile to Eddings. It was blatant, for sure. I feel for Guerrero Jr. When they consistently call strikes when the pitches are far off the plate, as a hitter, you are basically forced to swing at them. You wait for the pitcher to make a mistake. The officiating has affected the play of the Jays lately. I don't think I've ever seen Bo Bichette lose it like he did the other day. Plus, that failed attempt to steal third. Are some umps gearing up/practicing to throw games? World Series final game would bring in a huge amount of money............ yeah, been watching too many shows. Gulolol.

Too bad I can't find a video of it, but..........
Thanks to the Bichette bomb — an inning after a solo shot from Alejandro Kirk got the fun started — the Jays avoided a sweep at the hands of the White Sox. And it was especially gratifying for Bichette, who the previous night had repeatedly slammed his helmet in frustration in the Jays dugout.

The umpires have been horrible this season. That umpire Eddings missed so many strike calls in the extra innings game on Tuesday between the Jays and the White Sox.
64 percent accuracy on strike calls? That's like a F grade on a report card for Asian students hahah.
Here is Edding's score card from the Tuesday game:
https://twitter.com/UmpScorecards/status/1539618326346960899
I had withdrawals yesterday. Series opener against Brewers at Milwaukee this evening. Game time is at 5:10. Alek Manoah is starting pitcher. Hopefully the umps won’t ruin the game and stay invisible like they’re supposed to. Jays have players who are injured. Nobody’s going to overtake the Yankees, but the Jays gotta keep ahead of the Rays and Red Soxs. Boston is 8-2 in the last ten games (same as the Yankees), while the Rays are 3-7. Jays 4-6.
Go, Jays, GO!
Rowdy Tellez!!!
Five game suspension for Martinez? Like, wow.................. apparently, Martinez made contact.
Written apology to the umps - forced? I'd refuse to apologize and just take the punishment and watch the jays win the World Series. It's not like he bitch slapped anybody. I think his finger brushed the ump by mistake. Ump didn't react like a soccer player, but same effect. Such little bitches. /rant.
I think this is the first time I've seen a game from Milwaukee. One day, when I have cash to burn, Imma gonna visit all the major league parks in NA. This field is perfect for hitters. 3-0 for Jays with no outs top of the 2nd.
Totally Yuseless game today. Just find someone from the bullpen to get 'er done. This Castillo dude is pretty good. Jays need to find more relief pitchers who can give 3 to 4 good innings.
Blue Jays now in third place. Laundry budget is high right now. Starting pitchers shitting the bed. Announcers, please stop saying, "Tellez has found a home."
Kevin Gausman vs the Red Sox. Home game. NY in first place, Boston in second place 11 games behind, and Jays in 3rd place 12.5 games behind. Tampa Bay Rays are tied with Jays.............
No time to screw around. Every game is important heading into the all star break in mid July.
Boston comes in with a 7 game winning streak.
Gausman doing a good job. Jays have suspected that opposing teams knew what Gausman was going to throw. Adjustments were made in today's game. Gausman is wearing what equates to clown shoes. An oversized glove. Ball is totally hidden before the pitch.
Is it a fast ball or is it a splitter? Some pitchers give it away by the way they stand on the mound. Jays were pretty sure it was the ball being exposed. Details...........
Another interesting fact.
https://www.cbc.ca/sports/baseball/mlb/unvaccinated-mlb-players-not-able-to-travel-to-canada-1.6381612
Not sure how many key players from other teams are affected, but it must make a bit of a difference. Especially members of the bullpen.
LOL, what looked like a routine out turns into a double for Devers. The fricken ball hits second base. Then Devers gives Espinal a Vulcan Nerve Pinch....... okay, shoulder rub. Baseball players are so touchy feely, gulolol.
Wow, 7 scoreless innings by Guasman. The last strike out pitch was his 110th pitch and it traveled at 97 mph!!
Wacha and Stipling eerily similar in pitching style................ makes sense, I guess. They were roommates at one time.
Kind of like the RS twins, TOS'd and dukes, gulolol............. okay, maybe not.
Side note. Refsnyder, not your typical Korean name, but Korean born, Kim Jung-tae, was adopted at the age of five months. He was on the Blue Jays roster in 2017. Refsnyder hit a two run homer today.

few things in pro sports are sweeter than a walk off win
bit dicey in the middle but nice win Jays
Espy easily the 2022 MVP of this team...if Kirk played for somebody else.
Wow, what a fantastic finish to the game. Jays down 5-4. Bottom of the ninth, Jays' best pinch hitter, Captain Kirk, hits a single. He's replaced by the fastest runner the Jays have in Zimmer. Bichette hits a single bringing Zimmer to the plate. Tie game........... then, Guerrero comes to the plate. Everybody in the ball park is on their feet, even the blonde hottie server comes out from behind the wall to watch Guerrero at the plate. MG1 gets up to activate the Guerrero bobblehead (never fails, lol). Vladdy hits a single. It's a walk off win.
Vladdy gets a double gatorade/ice shower. No surprise. He told reporters prior to the game, "This is OUR house!!!" Damn............ can they sweep baseball's hottest team of the month tomollow?
https://www.facebook.com/BlueJays/videos/vladdy-this-is-our-house-/1459438874473130/
Today's game was a prime example of Canada's vaccination rule affecting the outcome. Boston's best closer was not able to be in this series. Usually closers are good for one inning. Pitcher who gave up the tying run was pitching his second inning.

Jays not gonna sweep these guy, but 3 out of 5 would be acceptable. It might be a Yuseless game today, though with Kikuchi on the mound. I would have loved to see Vladdy knock someone out of the ballpark yesterday, but it died down as quickly as it started.

Jays ahead 5-1 bottom of the 3rd. 5 hits, 5 doubles, and 5 runs.......... so far. Bases loaded with 2 out. With 5 games in 4 days, starting pitchers really need to last more than 4 innings. Espinal up to plate and....................
Double Header today. Game one just underway. Second game at 3:07 pm.
Jays' starting pitchers are: Guasman, then Hatch.
Wander Franco off the IL for Tampa Ray Bays. Dangerous player, for sure, but had to mention him here, because of name. I wAnder what the history is behind his name. Wander is a German name for builder? Butt, dude is from Dominican Republic. anyway...................... 9-2 win on Canada Day was awesome.
EDIT: WTF? Just looked up and saw Kevin Gausman down on the mound and in considerable pain. He got hit in the leg by a line drive. Never heard Rogers Centre be so quiet.
Nice job by young anthem singer. On pitch. Timing was a little off, but none of this bullshit, it's all about me and not the national anthem, style of singing of today.
Anyway, Stripling on the mound.
And what's with Chapman? Charged with an error. He's done that a few times this season. Tampa ahead 1-0 because of it. Could have been worse, I guess.
Home Plate Lady is in attendance. Ever notice when she's there, nobody sits behind her? Weird.
Go, Jays, GO!!!!
So, Bichette nearly gets hit in the head area. He ducks quickly. The ball is slightly behind him and the ball hits his bat. Everyone saw it and thought it was a foul. After what looked like ball three, he gets sent to first base. I agree with the call. The ball was not intentionally hit and it was clearly out of the strike zone. Tampa wanted to say something but it was too late. Can't call it back or review it. Even threw the broadcast and field scoreboard off.
Series opener (3 games) vs Oakland A's, the worst team in MLB. Jays better win this series. My god, they'll be the laughing stock of the AL East if they lose.
Spoke too soon. Jays down 3-0.
Mariners series starts Thursday.
Jays lost today, but after hearing about the tragedy surrounding the hitting coach, Budzinski, I totally understand what the jays were going through. The Jays are a very close knit family. I remember when Charlie and the rest of the coaching staff got the call during the double header game. It was really eerie. Right away, I knew it was not good news. Some people thought one of the coaches got ejected or something similar.
Some of the Jays were really affected by the loss.

For the love of Integra Girl, get Yuseless out of there.....................
Hits two players in the back. 5th walk. He's all over the place.
Send him down to high school league. Seattle Mariners chuckling right now.
Robbie Ray vs Manoah today. Manoah speaks highly of Robbie Ray in interview with Mabel, I mean, Hazel Mae.
Jays are in a slump, while the Mariners are on a tear. Feel for the fellow Jays fans who made the trip down to the Emerald City. Please get at least one game and not get swept.
OMFG!!!!
Vladdy has to stop buying gloves made in china. That's twice a ball goes through the webbing of his glove. At the worst of times, too. Inning should have been over.......... now the Mariners are within one run. How the hell does this even happen? Nobody going to buy whatever glove Vladdy's using. FU, FU, FU....................
If that glove held the ball, it would have been a helluva double play. Home plate, then to first base.
Damn, Manoah going to the All Star Game. Four Blue Jays are in. Springer, Captain Kirk, Manoah, and Vladdy.
Game all tied up. Mayza with two wild pitches.
Jays are still in the last wild card position with everybody else quickly gaining ground. Baltimore has won 8 freaking games in a roll. Seattle is one game behind.
Blue Jays will prevail today. No doubt aboot it...............
EDIT: found it...............https://www.justballgloves.com/blog/post/what-glove-does-vladimir-guerrero-jr-wear/
Loving the camera angles at T-Mobile.
Wow, swept by the Mariners. Such a pivotal game for the season. Jays let this one get away. They were ahead 4-1. Costly errors. The team is all messed up now. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Day off on Monday. All Star Break in one week time. Jays are in a big downhill slide. Perhaps they can turn it around in the last half of the season. Maybe rally behind Budzinski when he comes back.
First Canadian to manage an MLB team in Canada.

10-0 record since Thomson took over. Great, just what we need - a hot team to deal with.
Jays coaching staff made a big boo boo.......... throw to first base is in time. 3rd out, so everybody makes their way back into the dugout. Then, Jays realize, the runner is safe. Everybody is like, WTF? Apparently Vladdy didn't have his foot on the base. Vladdy starts waving his arms signifying the runner is safe. "Don't challenge it!" Coaching staff challenges the call. Your first baseman is signalling the runner is safe. Sure enough, the runner is safe, because foot is off the base. Jays lose their challenge. Right after that, a pick off is called safe when replay showed it was successful. A few innings afterward, a foul ball is caught up against the netting and replay showed the ball hitting the net. First time I've seen a player admitting to all to see, that the runner is safe. Losing the ability to challenge can lead to a difference between a win and a loss. Seen that more than just a few times.
Looks like they let Charlie Montoyo go. As in fired. Haven’t seen anything official, but something’s going on. I saw last night post game interview and all seemed fine. Players not happy? They’re struggling, that’s for sure. Now what am I going to do with my Charlie Montoyo playing bongos, bobble head? To quote Charlie, “agua under the bridge.”
They're still showing that amazing game saving catch by Springer in last night's game. Even Devon "Devo" White acknowledged the great catch. Not sure how many of you remember Devon White. He's part of the Blue Jays' coaching staff. When he takes notice of a catch, you know it's as good as they come.
https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/video/gotta-see-springer-races-warning-track-brings-overhead-catch/
8-2 win. Not much of a sweep (2 game series), but a sweep it is...........
Tomorrow a 4 game series with Kansas City Royals...... well, not really the Kansas City Royals. 10 players not playing due to Covid restrictions. Players who chose not to get vaccinated.
First win for temporary manager, John, "Schneids," Schneider. Ultimate dream come true. I have this feeling he might become permanent manager.
Go, Jays, GO!!!
Gausman on the mound. I guess he's all heeled up. Schneids changes the line up a bit. I kind of like this guy. Was watching the interview. Said all the right things and he seemed very genuine.
Go, Jays, GO!
Buck, get back soon. I miss the twang. I hope he still has his hair, lol.
On a side note......... haven't seen home plate lady for quite some time. Hope she's okay.
NVM home plate lady, hot brunette server working the game today and wearing the pleather pants. Black chick is there all the time now. The two blondes not working today. Also noticed a lot of empty seats this game.
Jesus............ they're showing side by side comparison of Guerrero Sr. and Jr. It's like mirror image. The stance, the position of hands on bat, the swing, the follow through. Damn.............. saw those pictures of Jr. at the games when he was like 8 years old. Grew up at the ball park is about as accurate as it gets.
OMFG!!! Captain Kirk. Hits a single and busts his ass to second. Safe. Damn, the slowest runner on the team just put everything into that "dash." Good for him.
Gotta love baseball. Blue Jays down 2-1 bottom of 8th inning. Bo attempts a stolen second base and is called out. Bo yells for a review. Jays lost a challenge previously and don't have any left. According to the rules, you can ask for a crew chief review. Sure enough, they overturn the call. Kansas City players were already in the dugout and had to come back out. Bo just stayed on second, 'cause he knew he was safe. Hernadez is up next. He hits one and, and, and, it's foul. Grounds out the next pitch. Wow, that would have been a great turn of events. Still have one more crack at it.
Jays lose 3-1. Gausman did a good job, but the bullpen couldn't get it down. KC pitchers were very good. Lots of minor leaguers on the Royals team. Schneids did say, loose teams are the most dangerous. In Manoah, we trust. Jays will come back tomollow.
She's back! Home Plate Lady. Jays leading 8-1 bottom of the 7th. Cavan Biggio's parents, Craig and Patty are in attendance. Craig is a hall of famer who played his entire career as a Houston Astro. Mom, btw, looks amazing. Only three Jays are going to the All Star Game. Springer bowing out to get healthy. Keep that elbow working. Team comes first. Damn.
Go, Jays, GO!!
BTW, the All Star Game will be held later in the season compared to other years. Probably due to the dispute before season started.
On a side note, Seattle has won 11 games in a row including the 4 game sweep of the Jays. Wow! Remember people in shock of Jays losing to the last place Orioles? They've won 10 games in a row, including the ones they won against the Blue Jays. All the teams in pursuit of the wild card spot are playing each other. Every game the Jays win means big points.
Espy is off to All Star Game.
https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/blue-jays-santiago-espinal-to-replace-jose-altuve-in-mlb-all-star-game/sn-amp/
Springer opted out and Santi is in to replace Altuve. Blue Jays represent!!
Great finish to the game. Never count the Jays out of a game.

9:07 start. Berrios on the mound. Last game before All Star Break. Home Run Derby on Monday and Game on Tuesday. Both events at 5:00 PM in Los Angeles.
WOW. A meeting was held at 10:30 am Toronto time, when Jordan Romano was told he was going to the All Star Game. Romano, or course, is a Canadian (Markham, Ontario). They (Tim Mayza) brought out an equipment bag with the Jays logo and the All Star logo on it and told him, he's going to need this................. going to the All Star Game is a really big deal for young players. 5 players from the Jays going.
Go, Jays, GO!!!!!!!
Corona Virus and Baseball. And, the Kansas City Royals.

“What Merrifield is saying (is) ‘My team sucks. We’re 20 games under 500. I’m going to take these four days off before the (All-Star) break and give up my salary and give up my service time and it’s not that big a deal. But if I get traded to a contender, something’s going to happen. And I’ll rethink it.’ That’s a tough one. That is a tough one if I’m a Royals fan.”
Sportsnet Misplays of the Month, LOL.
Vladdy makes the top ten list.Ball goes through the glove. Not once, but twice in the same season - same guy.
Wasn't paying too much attention, so don't know which two teams, but throw to the plate and the ball hits the player. He's safe. Catcher then throws to third to stop the runner, but the ball gets by not one, two, but three players. Another run scores, like W-T-F?
Best one is when Seattle Mariner hits what looks like a double at best, but hitter decides to go for third. He's running pretty hard and looks like he's going to make it, but he stumbles and falls short of third base. He still has some time, so he swims (what looks like swimming/crawling) to third...... he's called out, lol. It was the game with Toronto. The series, where the Jays were swept (4 games).
Home Run Derby coming up at 5:00 pm.
Can Pete Alonso threepeat?
I'm rooting for J-Rod
For those who are wAndering why Vladdy wasn't in the Home Run Derby, he has an injured wrist that he didn't want to aggravate. Vladdy fell one home run short of Pete Alonso's first title.
Canadian Anthem Singer did a great job and sang half in French. The American singer, not so much. .
Vladdy from Mount Royal, so he was into it. Romano, also Canadian.
Go, AL, GO! I mean, we have players from NY, hee hee............
Denzel talking about one of the greatest Dodgers of all time, Jackie Robinson. I listen to Black Diamonds podcasts on Sirius XM. Man, that guy did so much for players of all colours. We hear about segregation and all that shit, but his story is an eye opener. How shitty people can treat another human being. Mrs. Robinson, who just had her 100th birthday. The stuff she went through with Jackie is just so wrong. Big happy birthday wishes at the ball park.
Anyway............. "Play Ball!!!!"
Japan represent. Shohei Ohtani. Top of the line up. Aaaron Judge second, Devers third and Guerrero Jr. in clean up spot.
Ohtani hits a single, then gets picked off by Kershaw. WTF? Kershaw then stirikes out Aaron Judge.
Manoah and Kirk team up and three hitters go down swinging.
Jeezuz, everywhere he goes, Kirk gets comments about his body shape. Give it a rest, people. So Japanese. Shohei takes four balls for a walk. He gently and neatly places the bat and his gear down. None of this bat flipping.
The saddest part of the All Star Game.................... Stand Up To Cancer.

well - that was something
Jays win 28-5

The Blue Jays won 28-5 in Boston today no biggie.
Jeepers.......... Red Sox management needs to address the lack of attention on the defensive side of the team. More than a few times, the Red Sox players have been caught off guard. Losing sight of a pop up fly happens in baseball. What doesn't or shouldn't happen is stopping and doing nothing. Chase the ball, whatever. Today, Vladdy hits a ball down the third base line. It hits the bag and goes to the wall. Third baseman just freezes for a moment and then realizes, he needs to go after the ball. Right after that, a ball gets by the outfielder who doesn't look like he's trying very hard to get the ball. Just now a ball gets hit into the "Triangle." Outfielder could have dove to stop it from going into the triangle. No other outfielder even bothered to back him up. Blue Jays, despite the umps and whatnot, never gives up on plays. Everybody out there hustles. Maybe the Boston players just don't give a shit and don't want to play with heart for their manager and coaches.
Tapia with a three run triple. Jays up 5-0 in the first inning.
BTW, Buck is due to come back on Tuesday. I miss the hair................. hopefully the Chemo hasn't taken its toll. I don't think Hasson and Wong can recreate that flow.
Welcome back, Buck!
Nice reaction by everybody, including both teams and fans. When I first heard his voice today, I was like, "That's not Buck Martinez............" Then after a few innings, it all came back.
With the Blue Jays since 1981. So many stories has he.
39 756 in attendance, including the Home Plate Lady. By the looks of it, no Hazel Mae. 10-3 Blue Jays at the top of the 9th.
Go, Jays, GO!!
WIN!!!
Fun times in la barrio
It's Jays Care Auction Day today. Buy now starts at 9:00 am our time.
Looking to add to the Jays bobblehead collection. This year, it's Ace. I was hoping for a player or the new manager, but.................
Fishing trip with Buck Martinez in Florida.
Anyway, hoping Jays sweep the Cubs.
Go, Jays, GO!!!
Hilarious........... no charges were "laid".

Comments, lol. Three stokes and you're out! ..............right where the dome splits apart and spreads wide open on sunny days.
What the hell just happened? I've been watching baseball for a helluva long time. The cubs just made the Jays look really dumb. 2 out, with runners on first and third. Runner at first attempts to steal a base......... more like intentionally get caught. Kirk takes the bait and a run scores. Like WTF? Oldest play in the book. Runner at third scores while the Jays are running down the runner between first and second. Of all the times they practice hitting, catching ground balls and shit, they are not prepared for plays like this. It seems the Jays go all dumb, defensively, when Mitch White is on the mound. The Jays are not a team that is going deep into the playoffs. They're down 5-0 in today's game.
Oh well, hoping for another miracle come back.

I'm calling it. Jays are going to miss the playoffs again by 0.5 games. Same result as last season.

They have 16 games left against Baltimore and Tampa Bay alone which is basically their season right there. If they want to make the post season you need to win those series, but the way they are playing now it's hard to see it.

I haven't been following the Jays like a real fan would more of a casual baseball fan who happens to tune in to their highlights and sometimes even purposely look to see if they won. It appears (could be wrong) that they constantly go on these streaks. One minute they're on a double digit game streak of being way under 500 and the next they'll be on fire for double digit amount of games. Sometimes the hitting is amazing but pitching sucks and sometimes it's the other way around like you don't even know what team you're getting going into any game regardless if the other team sucks or not. Pretty frustrating stuff!
Damnit......... thought it was the usual 4:00 pm start. Good thing I can watch the game from start via Shaw Gateway.
Pittsburgh.............. nice ballpark....... PNC?
Go, Jays, GO!!!!!
Roberto Clemente, damn...........
Stephen Blass

Legends. Great pregame show.
Bullpen day today.......... ewwwww.................
Doesn't matter.
Go, Jays, GO!!
Holy crap......... so many Blue Jays fans in Pittsburgh. More Jays fans than Pirates fans......... I gotta get me on of those old school Pirates baseball caps. The ones that look like cans. Pillbox caps, lol.
Four at Baltimore.................
Battle of the birds.
Baltimore is the one team that can hurt the Jays big time. They were dead last earlier in the season and now they're just two and a half games back of the Jays and the last Wild Card spot. This year, more teams can get into the post season, but no more one game tie breakers. The team with more wins against the opposition gets in. The jays are behind in that aspect to just about all the teams in contention for the wild card spots.
Kevin Gausman, former Oriole, is on the mound for Toronto. His dad is in the stands and the story is, Kevin never loses when dad's in attendance. That and Springer being in today's game, things look good. Today's double header was the result of a rained out game early in the season. It's coming down again. Toronto is leading 2-1 at the bottom of the third.
The Jays are in control of their own destiny.
10 games with the Orioles
9 with Tamp Bay
3 with the Boston Red Sox
3 with NY Yankees
---------------------------------------------------------------------
3 with Texas Rangers
3 with Philadalphia Philies
How's that for baseball in the month of September?
Go, Jays, GO!
20 minute rain delay, lol.
Mitch White? We is in trouble. It's a toss up between Kikuchi and White as to which pitcher is the most useless.............. I think White is the worst. Kikuchi is coming around.
Dodgers like, phew............ thank you Blue Jays.
Hopefully minimal damage is done and the bullpen comes through to save the day.
Go, Jays, GO!!!!!
So glad the Jays have the Barrio Jacket. Heavy chain is what Oriole players get when they hit the home run. Which team has the wheelbarrow? That has to be the dumbest thing yet.
Found it!

Wow, did Kirk score from second? Cedric Mullins is like, "Yeah, it's Kirk. I'll take my time." Kirk was pumping his legs pretty hard. His face when he was in mid stride. Damn, all the Jays are serious af.
I'm really liking this Schneider. Good guy and very well spoken, as far as managers go. He was asked about the jerk of an umpire. Made it sound like, "I'm not going to even give the fokker the attention he wants." Nelson, the ump and crew chief yesterday called balk against Gaussman. He waited for the first possible opportunity to call it. Mistake by the officials is understandable, but to make a call in that way is so unprofessional. He's crew chief today and behind the plate. He also refused to pause the game or call the yard crew out to dry the mound and batters box in yesterday's game. Pitchers were slipping off the mound and runners slipping. Finally called out the crew in the end. What the hell?
He also threw Charlie Montoyo out of the game back in April? Umps have a hard job and sometimes they get criticized unfairly. Moves like that don't help their cause.

I'm not sure if it was always this bad but the umpires behind the plate seem particularly horrible lately. It used to be that they all have their own strike zone but they'd stick to it. Now the consistency is out the window, one pitch is a ball, the next pitch in the same spot is a strike. It frustrates both batter and pitcher when you do that.
They seem to be calling pitches at least 3 inches outside a lot more lately too.
Bichette is on a tear right now though damn
When a strike is called three inches off the plate and away, it's pretty much impossible to hit.
For the love of Loki, the Jays work hard for a 3-0 lead and White erases that in an instant. Orioles now ahead 4-3 with only one out and bases loaded. Like WTF? Pull him out of the game now before it gets out of hand.
The look on Manoah's face at the end of the game. Yikes. He's gonna be pumped for tomorrow. Today's loss was totally on errors by the Jays' best hitter, Bichette. Too many errors.
I wAnder if Nelson will be crew chief again tomorrow. He did nothing to prevent the bench clearing. He threw fuel on the fire and did some fanning to boot. What would be great is if the league replaces him for the next game and perhaps prevent him from officiating any game between the two teams. Again, none of this would have happened if he did not issue warnings.
Yet another important game in Baltimore.
Vladdy, what the hell? Not much effort there. He better get that one back for TO.
If there is such a thing as a baseball god, Baltimore should be sent right to hell. 8000 fans in today's game. Like WTF? Jays have fans all over the world, not just TO, Ontario, Canada, or even North America. Jays deserves every break possible. Baltimore does not deserve to be in the post season with support like that! /rant.
And, while I'm on it, FU Baker.
Go, Jays, GO!!!
Texas Rangers today.
Globe Life Field finally has its roof wide open. Last time it was open was back on April 30th!
Springer!!! Dude is a beast.
Anyway, Go, Jays, GO!
Damn, this facility is one of those multi-purpose types. Not liking it. Dead infield, to boot. Nothing bounces. Balls just dies. Bucket list. Visit every major league baseball park in NA. Need to start a "Go Fund Me," crowdfunding, gulolol.
Nice to see Marcus Semien again.
EDIT: I take that back, the ballpark is actually very nice, as far as the seats and whatnot. Scenery, not so much.
Wow, what a story. Josh Jung of the Rangers. First MLB game, first time at the plate and he hits a solo homer off Stripling, of all people.
BTW, Jung is not a chinese/Korean only, name. It's German (High German). Josh is about as white as can be. As opposed to Mitch White (half Korean), who's not................ hee hee, hue hue, pew pew.
For the love of manic Mondays..............rule changes for 2023 season.
Larger bases.
Larger, but second base is closer to home plate.
Pitch clock.
15 seconds from time pitcher receives ball to time ball is thrown
20 seconds with players on base.
Pitcher gets two tries to throw out player at first. Third failed attempt = balk.
No shift.
I have mixed feelings about this. Teams with good statisticians have the advantage. The shift doesn't always work. I like it. It makes teams really analyze and think about all kinds of things.
Catcher rule not up for discussion, i guess.
Another nail biter. Texas not going away.
WIN!!!
Can someone teach the Jays to bunt? Actually, can anyone teach any modern player how to bunt? Truly a lost art.
Oh oh............ Hazel in the green dress. Do they do the gatorade shower in away games? I guess not. Grounds crew would freak.
So, Rays closing in on NY. If the Jays keep the winning streak going, the Division Pennant is a possibility. Probably not, but ya never know.
For the time being, the Jays are sitting in second place of the wild card race.
In Texas for 2nd of 3 game series. It's Kohei Arihara for Texas vs Kevin Gausman.
Jays ahead 2-0 on doubles by Springer, Bichette, and Kirk. Top of the first with one out.
Go, Jays, GO!!!!!!
Usually, I get home just in time to watch a game. Today, being an early start and at home, I decided to watch the Pre-Game Show, Blue Jays Central. Damn, some good stuff. Anyway............
Frick. Batters get 4 runs in for the Jays and Gausman shits the bed. It's 4-3 for Toronto at the bottom of the first with one out.
11:30 game time.
If the Jays win today and the Rays lose, the Jays will be on top of the wild card standings.
It's bullpen day, yikes! Good news is, Teoscar is back from paternity leave.
Go, Jays, GO!!!
Trevor Richards........... should have booted him off the mound long before the bases got loaded with only one out. Now whoever comes in for him has an uphill battle. Jays are down 1-0, but that is about to change. Damn, the bullpen. If it weren't for the batters on this team, the Jays would be near the bottom of the standings. /rant
Great. Phelps gets the Jays out of a bases loaded situation and in the next inning, gets pulled in favour of Useless Kikuchi to face lefties. WTF? The guy (Phelps) is pitching well, who cares about lefties. Phelps can do it. Now it's 3-0 with one out. Kikuchi gives up a two run homer. 5 game series against the Rays coming up, including a double header on Tuesday. The longer a pitcher can stay in, the better for the bullpen.
For the love of Kate's Bush............... the Boom Stick!
Then again, it's Texas.
https://thecomeback.com/food/the-viral-texas-rangers-boomstick-hot-dog-has-actually-been-around-for-years.html
It comes with its own carrying case.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHrTx-40q60
NVM Vladdy getting hot, I can't wait until players like Chapman gets going. When pitching sucks gecko balls, they have to start hitting the ball out of the park. Don't be leaving runners stranded.
GO, Jays, GO!
I've always wAndered what Vladdy draws in the dirt when up to bat.......... pentagram?
Looking forward to a Hazel Mae gatorade shower.
I thought they got rid of Mitch White. The guy is runner up to Useless Kikuchi. Manoah was supposed to pitch in game one of the double header. Down 4-0 at bottom of third. Can’t win every game. Keep Mitch White in there as long as he can still lift his arm. Lose by 4, lose by 35, a loss is a loss. Don’t waste any more resources than you have to. Hopefully Manoah is in for game two.
Good thing Kiermaier is injured. Jays’ property is safe. Fricken thief!
Update: Looked pretty grim at the beginning, but the Jays are on fire. When Kirk runs from first to third to score, nothing's going to stop the Jays. 7-2 lead at the bottom of the 8th. Behind 1-0, ties it, then behind 2-1, then all hell breaks loose in the 7th with 4 runs. 2 more in the 8th.
Go, Jays, GO!!!
Total team win today in game two. This was totally like a post season game. Damn, three pinch hitters in a row getting it done. Then, the Springer dinger, lol. Manoah needed some Imodium, but not because he pitched poorly (called the team at 2:00 am to say he had stomach issues). Came in for game two and killed it. It was a really close game, but man................ on top of wild card (with the Mariners) again. Gotta keep winning. Tampa Ray Bays are a damn good team.
Manager, Schneids, rocked it!
EDIT: just saw interview with Manoah............ contemplated going to ER in Toronto. They gave him an IV to rehydrate him. For the team, he toughed it out and pitched an awesome game. Dude is Cy Young material.
Vladdy finally gets his 100th career home run.
Since the Mariners lost last night, the Jays are alone on top of the Wild Card Standings. 1/2 game ahead of Seattle and Tampa.
Go, Jays, GO!!!
I ordered a Bo Bichette bobblehead from FOCO. On sale........ like wth? I even got a further 10% off. I ordered it on September 8th. It arrived this morning. From Little Rock, Arkansas. Damn. Apparently delayed by two days. Wow! So far, no mention of duties or brokerage fees. Hmmmmmmmm
I moved Hazel Mae bobble head next to Vladdy and placed Bo next to Charlie Montoyo (Playing Bongos). I so want a George Springer bobblehead. A woman is selling one on Kijiji, but won't ship it from Toronto. Manoah would be nice, but FOCO hasn't made one. Yet.
I wAnder if Baby Giraffe (Tapia) has a bobblehead.
12:07 start.
Roberto Clemente Day today.
https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-celebrates-roberto-clemente-day-2022
Bo Bichette is Toronto Blue Jays nominee for this year's award.
https://www.tsn.ca/shortstop-bo-bichette-named-blue-jays-nominee-for-roberto-clemente-award-1.1846212
Nice! Gabby Moreno in today's game. He's one of my favourite rookies in the Jays' line up. He's in because Kirk is not feeling well. Tightness in the hip. Probably from running like hell in yesterday's game.
Man, Chapman's bat is colder than a witch's broom.
Frick, one missed call from the home plate ump results in a big lead for Tampa. A perfect pitch by Gausman right at the knees. Ball 4 instead of a strike out.
EDIT: I'm getting pretty good at knowing when the Jays are going to get hammered. I stopped watching to go do some shopping when it was 4-0. Knew none of the pitchers were going to get it done. It was one of those, "We're gonna lose anyway, so let's really lose."
The challenge early in the game was a bit of a hint of things to come. Why they took that risk is beyond me and everybody else. Tomorrow's game is going to be a doozy. No real pitchers. Kikuchi? I was listening to Sportsnet post game show on SiriusXM. They were discussing what a safe lead meant when Kikuchi pitches. One guy says 8 runs, while another says 14 maybe 15 runs by the hitters. It's a three game home series with the Orioles, starting tomorrow. Gausman should have been a safe bet today. Nope.
Tomorrow's game is an AppleTV+ broadcast. I don't mind the broadcast, but the stupid music during commercial break is just annoying af.
Shit, it's Berrios tonight. AL's number one pitcher, when it comes to giving up home runs.
Today is the start of a 4 game series with the Rays, who are behind Toronto by 2 games. Toronto has to win 3 out of the 4 games in this series to avoid being knocked out if they are tied for the last spot in the Wild Card standings (Season series).
Possibility of a Balk Choi, lol. Better a balk choi than a homer. Choi can hit it out of the park in a heartbeat. Not doing that well, this season.
Rays are a crafty team. Fast and Furious. That Kevin Cash.................
Go, Jays, GO!!!
Crap, time to boot Berrios out of the game. And, it's only the first inning.
I'm batting 1000.......... stopped watching last night's game as soon as the Rays tied it up. Berrios was having a typical bad game. The pitchers coming up were no better........... Mitch White today. Nuff said. Hasn't won a game as a Blue Jay. The Rays' pitcher looks like he's unhitable. Hopefully leaves due to high pitch count.
We'll see.
Go, Jays, GO!
FFS, one out walk, comes in to score. then a bunt brings in another. Time to get some gardening done. I'll give the Jays a couple more at bats.
LOL at Tampa Ray Bays...... names of players. wAnder Franco, Miles Mastrobuoni, Jose Siri (Hey, Siri, where's the ball?)................
ohhhh........... pitch out, pitch out, pitch out........... damn....... almost. Runner knew it was a pitch out, so he stopped half way. Siri is so crafty.
All of a sudden Springs, the Rays' pitcher doesn't look so scary.
Looks like the Jays have adjusted to Springs. Now the tides have turned. Now can Mayza get it done?
Aw.......... fudgenutter.......... the bullshit, I mean, bullpen........ wait........ bull pen shittin' the bed = bullshit. Doesn't matter how many runs the hitters put up, the pitching will negate all of it.
Hey, put Yuseless Kikuchi in there, Mayza is done, Bass is ass.
Game tied 6-6. It's bullpen vs bullshit.......... It's anybody's game, but Rays get last bat. I guess I'll keep watching.
Jeepers............. bullshit. one out with runners on first and third
Tropicana Field is haunted. Little Trop of Horrors, lol. Read on.
https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/toronto-blue-jays-cursed-history-tropicana-field
Little Trop of Horrors, lol.
Jays might lose all four games to the Tampa Ray Bays.
A lot of players on the Blue Jays team live in the area. Even Buck Martinez lives close by. What a beautiful part of the world, though.
By the Power of Grayskull, Manoah is a beast! 112 pitches and gets through 7 innings. Toronto up 3-0 thanks to the new kid on the block, Merrifield.
It ain't over till it's over, though. Little Trop of Horrors will get you!
Oh, shit! It's bullshit, I mean, bullpen time.
Springer Dinger! Two, so far. He's three for three.
Toronto up 4-1 at the top of the 5th. Stippling is on the mound for the Jays. Not at his best, but the defence has, so far, saved his ass so many times.
Go, Jays, GO!!!
They're on top of the wild card race ahead 1-1/2 games up on the Rays and 2 up on Seattle. Because they lost the season series to Tampa, if they tie with them, they will drop a spot.
For the love of Cassius Clay's sting................ When Cimber is on point, he's unhittable. That sidearm action is deadly. How do you deal with those pitches that paint the corners? There's not huge noticeable movement, but where the ball is located in the hands at release point and where it ends up is just weird af for the hitters.
EDIT: Now that's what I call a, "Whoopie Cushion." Jays now up 6-1 on a Teoscar Hernandez 2 run boomer. A total no doubter. A 5 run cushion for the pitchers in the bullshit to work with.
Damn you, Home Hardware...... this song is now stuck in my head........... not the weird neighbour in the diapers, though.
https://www.facebook.com/umclicensing/videos/home-hardware-features-gonna-build-a-mountain-by-anthony-newley-in-this-spotsyn/1441336845912507/
Baby Giraffe wit ha triple!
No, no, no, no, no...............NO............ Yuseless Kikuchi warming up for the bottom of the 9th. Frick, Jays are only up by 5, not 12. We is in trouble.
What the hell? Dozed off watching the Jays game. Woke up and witnessed one of the most amazing 6th innings between the Royals and the Mariners. Mariners were ahead 11-2. Now it's 13 - 11 for the Royals. Could have been more if the batter at the plate didn't get greedy and go for a double. Kansas City home game.
If Seattle wins their game, they will leapfrog into second place in the AL wild card race.
Typical god Bless America break in the 7th Inning Stretch........... only at baseball games do you see this. Do they do this at football, soccer, hockey?
https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/major-league-baseball-permanently-retire-god-bless-america-article-1.2693228

Holy Rings of Betazed, 4 games to make it into the playoffs. Any combination equalling 4 wins (2 wins and 2 losses by Baltimore).
The Jays fans deserve the games to be at home, though. Certainly not Tampa, where support is pathetic. Jays have to finish at the top of the wild card race. The Jays do not have a season series win against anybody, so they have to be one game ahead.
4 games with the Big Bad New York Yankees. Fricken Harrison Bader. Cocky little shit. I hope he runs into the wall hard, chasing a Vladdy home run. His little celebration after catching a fly ball.
If Aaron Judge hits a home run, the ball is said to be worth 1/4 million bucks. If the next one, his 62nd. It's going to be a million bucks. Now is that USD or CAD? Judge is like 6 foot 7, 282 lbs. It's pretty unfair. Just the reach alone is crazy. He's the Paul Bunyan of baseball. Actually a couple other Yankees are that big............
Jays had bases loaded with zero outs and they only managed two runs. Two inches away from a grand slam, though.......... with the bases loaded. 2-2 tie bottom of 6th.
Go, Jays, GO!!!!!
What a gutsy call by Jays' manager. Gave Aaron Judge the four finger salute to load the bases at the top of the 10th. Sent Mayza in to pitch against Rizzo and it worked!
Yankees fan wearing the judge's outfit, complete with wig, going absolutely nuts. Angry was he. Gulolol.
WIN!!!!!!!!
Vladdy gets the shower before the interview with Mabel Hays........ she was wearing her red dress, too. Oh well. I love the way she runs away from the shower. A little girl in the crowd had a sign that read, "I want to see Hazel Run Away." Hazel said, "I'll take one for the team if the Jays win this one."

I'll never forget seeing Aaron Judge in person years ago.
It was his rookie year so at that point he wasn't well known, we ended up going to an early season game in Toronto, a home opener against the Yanks.
Even in the lower bowl not close to home base, the guy looked massive. He stuck out like a sore thumb every time he was at bat, a mountain of a dude.
I made note that day, remember his name, this guy is going to be a beast. Low and behold here he is.
Springer Dinger!!!
First in the line up. Jays up 1-0
LOL @ Kevin Gausman's comment on yesterdays game. Pitching against Judge. He couldn't understand how one player gets a new baseball for each pitch. The balls are marked. Like wtf? Someone's making money. He said I can strike out Gian Carlo Stanton with one ball.
Then he says, "I'm not going to give in to him (the historic 61st home run). I don't want to end up being the answer to a trivia question." So hilarious.

Springer is such a great player when he's healthy. He doesn't seem to have as many hot and cold streaks that other players get, he's just consistently good.
I'm glad the Toronto fans have accepted him. Even more importantly the rest of the ball team. He was part of that Houston Astros sign stealing incident. In Buffalo, back when the Jays called it home, the Jays' fans heckled him. I don't think that would have happened in Toronto.
https://fansided.com/2021/06/29/george-springer-heckled-sign-stealing-scandal-blue-jays-home-game-video/
Then, Ross Stripling confronts Springer about the incident. They were both good with it in the end. Clear the air and whatnot. I believe Mat Chapman did the same thing. "We're cool."
Please Jays, please............... don't be the team that lets the Yankees win the division title. It's a tall order since the Yanks need only one more win. This means it is still, albeit impossible, for Jays to win the division. Wouldn't that be amazing.
I would sacrifice all the virgin Revscene members out there to the baseball gods for that, in a heartbeat.

Bichette is a defensive liability he sure seems to blow a lot of throws to first. A few plays before that he ran out to center field to try and catch a ball he had no chance of catching which made the outfielders slow up so they couldn't catch it either.
If he wasn't such a clutch hitter, he'd be benched. He looks pretty nonchalant most of the time. They say he's pretty intense, but I often wAnder about that. We all suffer from mental lapses, but he has had more than his share. Airmail to first is like a common occurrence. Also, when it comes to catching fly balls, he's a bit of a (can't find the right word - greedy pig?). Calling for balls that should go to the outfielders.
I have that feeling again............. Jays gonna lose this one. I hope I'm wrong.
WTF???????????
........... caught at second. Both Bichette and Vladdy. There's no excuse for that kind of shitty decision making. Giving this game to the Yankees.
Still batting 1000. stopped watching the game somewhere in the 6th inning??? Didn't even bother listening to the game. When jays are off their game, it's a forgone conclusion. I see Judge never got his 61st. So sad................. NOT!
Let him get it at some other team's expense.
Rubber match today. Jays better win this game. Because the Yanks clinched the division title, they are resting a lot of their better players. Judge is still in this game for obvious reasons, but no Stanton, Rizzo, etc.
The bad news is, Mitch White is the starting pitcher........... my god, we need a pitcher, not a belly pitcher, gulolol.
I was so happy when the guy got sent down to the minors, but here he is. Already behind with two men on and no outs. Oh shit, spoke too soon. NY just scored with no outs. Now 2-0. 3-0 and maybe more......... Frick!
Runners on first and third, White pitches the ball and you see Danny attempt a throw to second. A little delayed reaction by White. He ducks out of the way, but it was a bit comical. I don't think this guy is all there. It's like putting your hand on a hot stove and you smell something. It's your hands..... it's on fire, lol.
Jays' magic number is down to 2 games, thanks to the other two of the three teams in the running for wild card spots losing.
It doesn't get any better. Runners on first and second with no outs and Aaron Judge is at the plate. Trivia question: Who was pitching when Aaron Judge hit his historic 61st home run? Answer: Mitch White!!!!
Even with the better players for NY not in tonight's game, those replacement players are gong to do their absolute best to show the management they are ready to play on the team, should a regular player leave with an injury during the playoffs.
Pitch count high on White. Runners on first and second with one out and Judge at the plate. White throws a wild pitch and runners move up 90 feet each. Judge lines a grounder right to third baseman, Matt Chapman. Good thing Chapman has one of the strongest arms in baseball. He can wait till the last possible moment to prevent the runner on third going home. No Bichette air mailer.
"Going into the Killer Whale Tank................" Canucks should play that at the games, lol. Or do they?
Garrit Cole only up to 38 pitches at the bottom of the 4th. He's not leaving anytime soon. Me thinks it's time to watch something else or take a seniors nap.
Stopped watching and went to take a nap. Couldn't sleep, so turned on the iPhone to watch the game on Sportsnet Now. Just in time to see a Balk Choi. The fans might have got to Cole (couldn't hear pitch com). Then Vladdy sac fly to send the tying run home. 3-3. Bichette on second with two out. Hernandez!!!!!
Everyone's got their phones out to capture a Judge home Run..................... and................... and............ there it is!!!!!!!!!!
Yankees back on top 5-3.
Good job, Judge. Whoever has the ball is pretty much a rich person. NVM, the ball ended up in the Jays' bull pen A few fans nearly got it. Hit the back wall of the bullpen. Just under the gloves of the fans. Okay, give them the division title and Judge's 61st. Now get the bigger prize...... the World Series!
Go, Jays, GO!!!!!!
Should have stayed in bed, gulolol.
The wheels fell off the cart? No, the axle came off along with the tranny and engine. It's 8-3 for NY. Hey, it could be worse, they can bring Yuseless Kikuchi into the ga.............a......m.........e......... omfg.
Cimber sealed the deal for the Jays. There was a routine play at the plate. He has the ball that was hit to him and he throws it like a kindergarten girl would. It's way off. A run comes in. Then to make it worse, he just froze and watched as another runner came in to score. That runner could have been thrown out if Cimber had the mind to cover the plate. That was more than a mental lapse. That was just little league level of stupidity. Well, Kikuchi got out of the inning without giving up anymore runs. I guess that's a positive.
Oh well, there's always Friday's game. Baltimore lost, so magic number is down to one. Baltimore could lose tomorrow. Would have been nicer for the fans to see the Jays clinch a playoff spot.
Did I hear that right? 61 years to the day since Maris hit his 61st home run? NVM, the chick on Sportsnet got it wrong. It was 61 years ago, but in October. Last game of the season. Judge and Maris at 61 and Babe ruth at 60.
And, what about that fan that missed to home run ball by inches. I think his glove was there. He's been talked about by everybody, lol. Shots of him. Looked so pissed. To be at the right spot at the right time to not get it. I think winning the Lotto Max jackpot has better odds.
61 runs in 1961, 61 years ago.......... something about 61.

Maybe a stupid question I got out of watching baseball after the Jays won all their World Series, but why is Judge getting 61 and 62 such a big deal when Bonds and McGwire are both in the 70’s?

Maybe a stupid question I got out of watching baseball after the Jays won all their World Series, but why is Judge getting 61 and 62 such a big deal when Bonds and McGwire are both in the 70Â’s?
Judge is currently tied with Roger Maris for the American League record of 61 home runs.
Roger Maris' son was at the games at Rogers Centre during this Jays/Yankees series.
Bonds and McGwire hit more HRs because they were on the juice. Steroids. Cheaters.
All Rise for the Judge because this special player hit 61 home runs, so far, the right way, with no steroids, PEDs.
All I can say is that Judge is going to be a very rich man during free agency at the end of this season.
He bet on himself by turning down a 7 year, 200 million US offer from the Yankees. LUL
200 million US will be chump change compared to what teams will offer to him as a free agent.

Yah I figured it had something to do with the asterisks on Bond and McGwire............. altho to be honest, lol, we don't know if they jut got better at hiding it nowadays. I think it's insane not to believe that tonnes of pro athlets are doping. NFL is full of roid m... oh.... that could come off racist. Roid ragers! lol

That roids excuse is so stupid.
1. Everyone was on roids back then, even the pitchers.
2. Roids don't improve hand/eye coordination.

09-29-2022, 11:37 AM
You still have to be a great hitter to hit the amount of homeruns Bonds and McGwire hit on roids, but it can't be disputed that they wouldn't have hit that many without the juice.
Baseball has been ruthless to a lot of great players over the years, once you're on the shit list you never get off it.
The Jays are in!!!!
https://www.si.com/mlb/bluejays/news/blue-jays-clinch-2022-playoff-spot
Thank you, Boston. Also, thank you, Orioles.
Tomorrow's game against Boston will still be important. Jays can dictate, somewhat, who they play. Home game advantage, then there's the Little Trop of Horrors, lol. Seattle would be nice, 'cause we can go watch a game or two and get beat up by the Mariners fans. Although, lots of Jays fans will be in attendance (safety in numbers) gulolololololol.
Watching Guardians/Raybies game. No Jays baseball today is killing me. Go, Cleveland, GO!!!
Wild finish............ Cleveland was behind, but came back and won it by one run. Top of 9th, Raybies had bases loaded with one out. Choi at plate...... he strikes out. Pitch count is over 30 and it looks like the pitcher is going to walk in a run. Nothing doing. Cleveland get it done. Raybies need one more win to get in...... not tonight.
Seattle was ahead by three runs and Texas comes up with two solo homers, including one by former Blue Jay, Marcus Semien. 7-6 for Mariners at the bottom of the seventh. Game is on Sportsnet WB (Shaw 202).
Damn, Asian Aaron Judge had a no hitter going into the 8th inning. Single hit spoils it. That Ohtani (big valley in Japanese) looks like a young boy in a man's body. He's as big as Aaron Judge. Pitches as well as he hits. And, he can run like the wind. Was pitching 99 mph fastballs in high school.
I usually don't watch games other than Blue Jays game, but so many interesting things going on...... did anyone notice Gerrit Cole's 2000th strikeout?
Anyway, it's tied 7-7 in Seattle.
For those who are wAndering about the new playoff structure, here's a pretty good article on the subject.
The really interesting part is that the wild card games - three of them, are all played in one city/ballpark. Even if Toronto faces Tampa Ray Bays and they are seeded higher, all three games between them will be held in Toronto. No games at the Little Trop of Horrors (absolutely the best scenario).
https://www.mlb.com/news/baseball-postseason-questions-answered
Remember that the Jays do not hold a series win record against Seattle or Tampa, so a tie is not a tie. They end up in a lower seed.
Anyway, Texas has a one run lead in extra innings. If Seattle doesn't get one at the bottom inning, they lose. Go, Rangers, GO!!!!!
What the hell am I going to do, once the World Series is won by the Blue Jays????
Watch the Canucks? Gulolol. Just kidding. The Canucks will make it to the post season this year.
UPDATE: Mariners win it bottom of the 11th inning. Runners on corners and no out. Dylan Moore hits a line drive to third baseman. He doesn't catch it (Matt Chapman would've) and they win. Oh well........... Mariners magic number is down to one. If the Jays had a choice, I think they are better off with Tampa rather than the Mariners. J-Rod will be back from the 10 day IL for the Mariners. Plus, there's Robbie Ray and a whole host of pretty darn good hitters..
Another link to what’s happening in Major League Baseball.
https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-playoff-picture-and-bracket
At least we won’t face the Yankees till the last series. Cleveland would be a nice series. Astros. Don’t know much about them. Anyway, today’s game is a homer against the Boston Red Sox.
117 mph into the second deck homer by Vladdy. Is the guy timing it so he's on fire during the post season?
Much like Manoah's pitching. His fastballs are tame at the start of the game. By the end, he's at the 99 mph range.
Chapman has to get going............
Manufactured runs win games, though.
4-0 with Kirk on first and no outs at the bottom of the 3rd. Scratch that, Chapman just struck out, lol.
Awesome - A group of fans in attendance with a sign that reads, "Fiona Couldn't Keep These P. E. I. Fans Away Go Jays GO!" Blue Jays have the best fans in MLB. That's why they deserve every break they get. Other teams have fans who don't give two shits about their team.
Go, Jays, GO!!!
Springer Dinger! 3 run homer.
Boston: Here, have a Danish.........
Springer: Sure. I'm starving! Not as good as a PBJ, but it'll do.
Big after game party to celebrate the post season ticket. Hazel Mae has been invited. Can she run or what?
NOOOOooooooooo!!!!!!! Jays are only ahead 8-0. Yuseless Kikuchi is in.
Holy Manoah, Kikuchi gets his first major league save. Three scoreless innings. Jays win it 9-0.
Let the party begin!
Damnit. Hazel wearing an orange t-shirt. Why??? And slacks?
Schneids being interviewed. Wow.............. No shower!!!
Shit. Forgot all about the Lions game.
Rays and Mariners both clinch playoff spots. Jays up two games up on Rays, while they are 1-1/2 up on Seattle.
Seattle hadn't punched their way into the post season since 2001. A shitty all time MLB record they finally broke. Today's game was tied 1-1 until pinch hitter Cal Raleigh hits a walk off home run.
The Rays, damn them, 8 straight post season births.
Even though the Astros lost to the Rays today, they finished atop the AL. Home field advantage for all AL series. World Series home field advantage, if it gets to that, goes to LA Dodgers for having the best record in all of MLB.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the Ray's like the As? Spend minimal, never sign anyone expensive, trade away players as soon as they get valuable? Pretty freaking impressive to consistently put out a decent club.
They're like the Boston Bruins in hockey. Not as much anymore, but same idea.

It's all about the hotties at the beach........... my guess.
9-0 at bottom of 8th. This game could have been easily 15-0.
The Jays did beat up the same team 28 - something. Then beat them again by 11 runs. 19 games winning streak or something......... Boston must hate facing the Jays.

44,000+ fans at the ball park today. So much fan support.

Must say .. in MLB for ~150 games of the season, it's boring as hell but then once it gets close to the playoffs sand if your team is in it ... it's friggin electric, off the charts ... especially since this is the only Canadian team.
I've only watched a few episodes of Blue Jays Central, 'cause I barely make it home to watch the game. I have the games recorded. Some really good stuff about the players and prospects. Today's story was about Spencer Horwitz. Come to think of it, we are pretty lucky in that the Vancouver Canadians are one of the affiliate team in the Blue Jays organization. Manoah, manager Schneider, Cavan Biggio, Tim Mayza, Ryan Borucki, and other great players were all Vancouver Canadians at one point. Just set the PVR to record, Blue Jays Central.
Hope the Jays sweep the Red Sox today. Last home game of the season. Three games away after that, vs Orioles (another team easy to dislike, lol). Hopefully, they don't play spoilers.
Oh, Mabel Hays wearing purple today. Looking good. She looks horrible in yellow, btw. She looks like something from the Richmond Night market. Good to see Hernandez respect the Barrio Jacket. Hanging it up nicely. Unlike Kirk, who threw the thing in the dugout after he hit a homer. Since that day, the Jays went on a home run drought. Respect your stuff and it will treat you right. /sermon.
Makes sense now........... Gausman had something going on. Throwing a slider to the heart of the plate that resulted in those two Boston Red Sox runs. He's now out of the game. This will throw a wrench in the plans for Pete Walker, the pitching coach. Zach Pop in to replace Gausman. Pop is another one of those hot or not pitchers........... actually more not than hot, gulolol. Look at Kikuchi. Wasn't so Yuseless during the last on the mound performance.
Go, Jays, GO!!
Woah................ nice catch behind the back by Pop.
Tampa Ray Bays are behind 2-0 so far against the Astros. If Jays win today and Bays lose, Toronto can drop the Trop from their post season schedule.
Fullshit!!!!!!
Further evidence that Doug Eddings, the umpire, has it in for the Blue Jays. Red Sox player at plate went around and Eddings called it no strike. Okay, no problem........ then at the 8th inning a fly ball is hit out to center field. The ball was caught and umpire closest to the play, and crew chief ffs, called it a catch - hitter is out. However, Doug Eddings, the cunt who hates the Jays, overturns the call. Jays then challenge the call. NY agrees with Eddings. WTF? Plain as the sun is bright, all replays show the ball was in the glove. I really, really hope this is not a sign of things to come. Americans hate the World Series leaving their country. Look, you damn yankees, it's called the, "WORLD," series. America is not the world. /rant.
Eddings waiting for an excuse to change the outcome of the game. Well, asshole, the baseball gods made things right. Play right after the Eddings call turned out to be a double play to end the inning.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yisrr54x6M
YAY!!!!! All post season games this year will be Canadian. Sportsnet will be covering it. This is huge!!!!!!!
Saw that coming from a kilometre away. Vladdy didn't empty the cooler on Whit Merrifield. He walks away and Hazel, thinking she was safe, got doused. No chance to prance away......... great ending to a sweep of the Red Sox. 25 runs in the three games. Please, no injuries, stay safe.
3.8 million dollars. Buck Martinez got to make the call. Sounds like it was a husband and wife.
Jays ahead 3-1 bottom of the 4th. Good thing they're playing in Baltimore. Jays fans heckle him all the time, and for good reason. He took a punch at fan favourite José Bautista.
https://www.facebook.com/MLBonFOX/videos/rangers-2b-rougned-odor-punches-jose-bautista-during-brawl/2318595588446244/
Berrios was the starting pitcher today. He got pulled. That guy is either very good or totally shitty. Nothing in between. Anyway, he only gave up one - damage adverted. EDIT: My bad, he was still in the game. He survived a shitty third inning. Mayza just came into the game - 7th inning.
Magic number for the Jays to get home game advantage in the wild card series is 2. 2 outright wins or one win by Jays and one loss by Seattle.
Whit Merrifield....... probably the only batter on the Jays team who knows how to bunt. Perfect bunt just now and throw goes past the first baseman. Merrifield has been the AL hit leader twice in a row. He can run and he can field. He is pretty happy to be with the Jays, instead of being stuck with the KC Royals - a team going nowhere. Missed the playoffs every year since winning the World Series in 2015. Jays are up 4-1 - the last run was all Merrifield and his running. Stole home plate on a wild pitch. Damn.
Fucking hell....... that evil ump, Eddings, is in todays gamel. It's raining pretty hard. The game is past the 5th inning, so this game can be called and the Jays would win. I think a tornado has to hit the park before Eddings give the Jays a win. Hopefully no player is injured due to slippery conditions.
Today's game is rained out. Double header tomorrow starting at 12:30 EST, 9:30 am our time.
Yesterday's game was called due to rain. Since the game went past the 5th inning with the Jays leading 5-1, they get the win. Detroit beat the Mariners yesterday, so things are falling into place.
Go, Jays, GO!!!!!
The game in Boston is about to start, but it looks like the rain is coming down hard. THey're going to play, but I feel this may get called, as well. Tampa needs to win and Boston is going to spoil it, hee hee. Friday is the start of the post season. These teams need to play their last two games before then. Will have to see how the league handles this, if weather does not cooperate.

Alek Manoah gets the start in game 1.
I've never seen a baseball park so empty. It's the last day of baseball for the Orioles, but nobody to watch them. So sad. Mind you, it is game one of a double header, so more fans will make their way to say good bye to their team.

But why Tampa specifically?
Florida's tax rate is statewide, there are other teams in different cities in Florida that suck ass, so I still wonder why Tampa has such good teams across the board specific to that city?
The two teams that joined the MLB together back in 1977.
Damn............... Go, Jays, GO!!!!!!!!!!
1:07 start.
World Series Wins:
Toronto = Two
Seattle = Zero
So happy all three games are in TO. Player intros including everybody behind the scenes. Wouldn't happen if it were in Seattle.
That flag.......... been so long since we've seen it.
Encarnacion throwing out the ceremonial pitch to Guerrero. Junior gets the ball signed. Probably not going to him, but damn.
Jays behind 4-0 at the bottom of the 6th.
Seattle pitching is better than Toronto. Bull pen is 1000 times better than Toronto.
Hitting is at par, so Blue Jays are in tough. Castillo > Manoah. Seattle has better fielding record. If the Jays can't string hits together, they're toast. Stranding players again.
If the Jays lose this series, I don't mind, because Seattle is a good team and they deserve it.

Look at the bright side, the wildcard used to be only one game, and Castillo can't pitch the rest of the series lol
Baseball always comes down to better pitching when it comes to the playoffs. A hot pitcher always silences hot bats, hopefully whoever pitches tomorrow is on point.
Cy Young winner and former Blue Jay, pitcher, Robbie Ray for Seattle. Damn........... if the Jays somehow win game two, the pitcher up for game three is one of their best, Logan Gilbert.
Like I mentioned earlier, their bull pen is one of the best there is.

Yeah they gotta step it up for sure, if they can get an early lead that will be key before it gets to the bullpen. Ray isn't having as good of a year as in the past so they have a chance.
Still early, but Gausman is getting it done. The Jays have to take advantage of the good pitching, 'cause that is the biggest issue with this team. Inconsistent pitching.
Go, Jays, GO!!!
Hopefully, Robbie Ray pulls a Russell Wilson.
YES!!!!! Kirk with a stand up double and......... and....... Teoscar with a Homer!!!!!!
Finally, the crowd has something to cheer about.
Should have kept Gausman in there. Two outs, let him finish the inning. Mayza comes in and gives up 4 runs. Gausman has dropped jaw as he watches his work go down the toilet. The runs go on his record, too. Damn......... the bullshit screws it up again. I was going to say, the Jays are up 8-1, not enough to bring Yuseless in the game, gulolol.
For the love of Linda Lovelace............. Chapman beats out the ball to first base. If he had run through, he would have been out, but he goes head first into first and gets his hand on the base a split second before the pitcher got his foot on the bag.
9-5 Jays at the bottom of the 7th.
OMFG! Bass is ass.......... 9-6 now and runners at first and second with ZERO outs! Romano is in, but it's now bases loaded with no outs. For crying out loud. pitching lets this team down AGAIN!!!
It's a do or die game and the bullshit continues.
The Jays' fans deserve better.
Damnit to hell............ tied game, but worse yet, two injured Blue Jays players on the field. Collision trying to get a pop up. Bichette is sort of okay, but George Springer had to be carted off...........
Adversity if there ever was one.
Seattle with the lead............ looks like this year will come to an end. Well, I can finally get some gardening done.
One run to tie the game and two to win it. No runs and it's over. Down to their last three outs. Seattle throwing out a starter. Why not? Win this game and you're going on to the next series.
It's official. Seattle sweep the Jays.
Congratulations, Seattle. Well deserved win. Blue Jays pitching killed it. Ahead 8-1 and they blow that lead. 10-9 final.
Oh well. It is what it is.
Seattle now needs to go all the way.

Casual observer of the Jays this year but definitely figured for me anyway the 2 keys going in were the bullpen and whether or not the bats could be silenced. I thought the Mariners were beatable and regardless of who they were to face next it would have stopped there. Better luck next time.

Bichette is a horrible fielder. Get the fuck out of the way it's way easier for someone to run in on a ball than to chase it like that. You injure the best player on the team and blow the lead with selfish bullshit like that.
Wow, so nice to see the Yankees get swept in the ALCS.
Glad to see that cocky blood sucker, Bader, get nothing.
Pretty obvious now that the Jays couldn't have hung with any of the finalists.............. there's always next year. How about Aaron Judge as a Blue Jay? Wishful thinking. Jays need better pitching.

Man so much crazy shit always happens in the MLB playoffs. Astros up 5-0 with Verlander cruising and suddenly the Phillies come back and win it 6-5.
I really didn't care for either team to win this but I think with the Astros being the cheats they are im cool with them losing and not having a legit World Series win to boast about.
