Am I reading it right in that if you purchased a PS3 in that time frame, you can submit for $70? Frig if I'd have a receipt going back that far if it wasn't purchased online though...

I see that too... in fact I think MOST people bought 2 ps3's in their lifetime... all the first gen consoles failed lol I know the one I have in my video game system rack is the second one I bought.
Who's going go have a receipt from like 15+ years ago though??

In that time span my family bought 2 PS3s, 3 laptops, 2 desktops, 2 DVD players, and countless games and movies, but there's no way anyone has any receipts from back then.

Ha even if you bought it online via best buy for example it's so old it probably won't even come up on your order history.

I still have my ps3 receipts, I put them in the box, but the inks faded :lol
Reminds me of when first gen PS1 consoles had an optical issue and the only way to get the laser to read the disc was to flip the entire console upside down.
I still have my Gen 1. Reminds me of life.
