Keys where left at a table at a wedding reception. Someone stole the keys and took the car for a joy ride. 10 minutes later owners phone starts getting messages asking if he is alive. Getting on a ferry will post pics in a bit. Car has BC plates. I think the location is Surrey.

More info. 5 car pile up. 84th and 134th. The owner bought it a week ago for 300k.

Negative. I remembered few yrs ago, icbc changed the policy. You have to buy basic through icbc but if you want other coverage you are on your own. I think it was anything over $150,000. Happy they changed that policy. Long overdue.

There’s a serious issue in this country with elderly/incapable drivers. We should honestly have tests every 5 years, moving to like every 2 years after you hit 75 or something. So many accidents could be avoided by getting people who are a danger to themselves and others off the road.

I've watched tons of footage on those dashcam compilation channels and there's an absurd amount of people (mostly women, sorry) who do exactly this. Whether it's forward or reverse gear. They just go until nature stops them. Always full throttle too, based on engine noise. Stuff like this should require a mental evaluation afterwards.

i believe they do that only with medical testing for DL via your doctor/GP.

an assessment every 2 years or when you renew DL (i can't recall), writes you a note to confirm you're "OK to drive".

Confirmed by the police that it was a 2016 Range Rover. Odds were good, but that was a total guess.
