There's quite a few car forums around still. Bimmer forums are still a similar format, and I think head-fi is similar as well. But probably as like you said it's all due to a older audience.

Yeah, Facebook isn't really for discussion/debates. It moves fast and things get buried. If you're in any specific car groups, you'll end up seeing the same new people asking questions that have been answered a million times. No body knows there's actually a search function that exists.

But I personally do find Facebook useful in it's own ways too. I've seen people stranded somewhere and ask for help/troubleshoot on the spot, and he's getting responses within a few minutes. I guess being a fast paced platform does have it's benefits. But it definitely acts more like a chat room.

I was thinking more of people that run into issues with their cars. It's making this weird sound, my car is now doing this, etc. Or just simply specific things like need help installing some mod.

When you're in a specific car group where 7500 members all drive the same car you have, someone probably has encountered the exact same issue and can give you some solid advice within a few minutes. It's quite useful in that way. Specific car forums can do that too, but because they're more organized and not "free for all chat" vibe, responses also come in slower.

The thing I like about RS (other than all you delinquents) is that it hasn't changed when everything and everyone else has. It's still really active with a large group of members that have been here for 10+ years and which has been said already it's not about memes but actual content weather its good or annoying AF.

It takes me back when I first got my new 01 Civic looking for rims working my first full time job with money to spend and who in the hell thought most of us would still be here 20+ years later.

It's the comfort knowing no matter how crazy and messed up life is you can still pull up on your browser, click on RS and nothing has changed other then we all weigh more have less hair that isn't as dark as it used to be.

Who ever is paying for the bills all of these years, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It's really a selfless thing to do and is really something special this day and age.
