About 34K. Saw this at the local Audi dealership. The guy was driving it on the highway and a rod went through the block. Was going to have the dealership fix it but then instead sold it to someone in Alberta for 34K. I wonder what engine they are going to put in it.

Watch jr go tried to fix one and it was a bitch, he ended up buying a new motor from Audi. I think hoovie tried to fix one too but ended up selling it to tavarish. I still don't think that one has been fixed. K20 swap.

Knowing that Manic! owns a R8, I thought this was one of those “asking for a friend” type threads… :)

If it was sold just like that in the photo missing the engine + transmission?... defn not worth 34K IMO

if it was sold with all the parts, hmmmm then its in that weird area of....

On one hand, a patient buyer can pick up a decent condition manual V8 R8 for under $100K

On the otherhand, because a rod went thru the block, it should mean at least everything else on the car should be fine? Buy a block from a flesh water flood damage r8 (i know I know very specific).... and alot of labor... and maybe come out 30K ahead? I still think it will be a 70K endevour with a $34K starting point.....

I think the 34k included the blown engine. I don't know what the owner or dealership would do with it. The dealer says it was sold to someone in Alberta but I just saw one of the DDE guys in town yesterday. So who knows.

Or a crash damaged one. Since you're swapping the whole thing it might not be too bad, assuming the whole rear end pops off like most supercars?
