What is this thing in their rear bumper?? Doesn't look like a tow hitch.

I'm going to take a stab ... looks like a brace for when you take off at a red light and the front end lifts a bit, this is to prevent car from flipping over ... obviously, it's just for show.

^That's a good assessment, but there's no way that thing has enough torque to lift..... ever. Unless he drops in that ferrari v8, but even then.....

yah, it's all for show ... obviously a pretender.

I think they're supposed to be a jacking point for drift cars, so you can raise the one end easier to swap tires. They look terrible though. Just get a better jack and lift at the subframe.

Jack point was my guess too

Lol I wonder if they'd need one in the front too then.

They make them for the front too. I remembered last night it's called a bash bar. Not a great idea on a street car if you get rear-ended.

I seem to think I see these on drift cars, both at the front and the back. So I have always assumed they were there to mitigate the damage in case they accidentally tapped a wall or something -- which supposedly happens every now and then.
