I guess I'm turning boomer :QQ: but lately I've just been paying more attention to our crap ass roads while sitting in traffic in this weather. But no one really talks about this when they consider cars, what cars has the most comfortable seats, I'm talking about drivers, not back seat.

Most adjustments? Massage? Good heated and cooling?

Some sort of S class? From my experience Lexus seats aren't great, generally too flat and not enough support, not many models have massage.

That's a hard one as everyone has a different body, what works for one person doesn't work for others. That being said, Volvo is known to have very comfortable seats that work for a lot of people.

I have beef with Tesla seats because they don't work for me at all. I find my M3's tickle me elmo seats really comfortable, but it's too deep for my wife and she doesn't like them.

- Anything FCA RWD (RAM/Charger/Challenger/Grand Cherokee) - they benchmarked the Lexus LS and it shows.
- Nissan Zero Gravity
- VW seats, even though the steering position is very often off center.
- Ford pickups and sports cars (non-Recaro, the shoulder bolsters on those are diabolical)

My shit list
- Anything Toyota/Lexus, especially the upgraded ES/LS trims that have even stiffer seats!
- Anything Honda/Acura

Most of the good shit in the Germans/Domestics are made by Lear.

Like everyone already said above, it's very personal. My favorite seat right now are the X5 / X7 comfort seats, followed by the current Odyssey and Kia Soul EV cloth seats.

I never got comfortable with my Volvo seats despite the online praise, so they fall one step above Model 3 / Y seats for me (I get sore from long drives just like driving the Teslas).

I really like the Porsche Sport Seat Plus, regardless of whether it is the manual 4-way adjustable version, or the powered 18-way adjustable version. The bolstering is done just right -- the right firmness at the right positions. It holds you well enough in enthusiastic driving, but the shoulder bolsters aren't so big that they'd get in your way on ingress/egress. Add the heated and ventilated seats, and you're set year-round. But this is only for the sports cars. Unsurprisingly, the Macan and Cayenne seats don't offer the same degree of support, even though they are still fairly good.

Land rover or any higher spec american car. They make great couch like seats for fat americans.

Previous gen lexus LX/LS had great seats too. S-class is great with the seat bolsters inflating when you turn to stop you from sliding around.

The seats on my ls430 wasn't great, not sure if it's cuz a fat person owned it before and the seat cushion kinda got flattened? But I always felt there wasn't enough ass padding, not soft, like you feel like you were sitting on a hard plastic chair for a while and your ass kinda gets numb, there wasn't enough lumbar support that I could adjust. And that the seat was way too wide for me and I slide around the seat. Also no massage, only heated and cooling and no heated steering wheel.

All pretty personal and this is an example - I find the seats in the RDX, MDX, and TLX to be fantastic. Not quite as good as Volvo seats but they are all day comfortable and hold me the right amount for a sporty DD.

OTOH, I've never really gotten comfortable with Porsche's Sport Plus seats - I just can't get a perfect position with it. The Ioniq5's seats are horrible for me - they push my shoulders forward too much giving me upper back pain after 30 mins.

The zero gravity seats are extremely comfy. Paired with a large sidewall, you won't feel any bumps while you blast down highway 1 at 150km/h with temp plates

It's really going to depend on the person. The best seats I've ever sat in are Recaro sportsters, LX, LS, Speeds. Lots of people would find those horrendous for normal driving. If you like to drive somewhat aggressively, bolstering does more for comfort than cushion as it keeps you from being tense and bracing yourself. Some people need more lumbar support than others. Some have narrow shoulders and giant waists (hobz) or some have massive shoulders and narrow waists. You're really just gonna need to do some seat time.

Of all the cars I leased over the years at RCMP, the early TLX stood out to me as having particularly good seats... as in I noticed them immediately when I got in that they felt great.

FK8 Civic Type R seats are actually really good and very comfortable even for long distances, no adjustability beyond tilt and recline tho, but fits me very well even with my fucked up back from multiple car accidents.

9th gen touring seats definitely belong on the shit list. Those are fucking awful. It just doesn't work well for me.

8th gen si seats are alright, nothing to say good or bad.

E46 cloth ZHP seats are also very good, with a big pro being the toastiest heat seaters. Burn your buns. BMW seat heaters are fantastic. The F10 5er is also fantastic. No massage but all other adjustments avail with a solid butt burner.

F36 4er seats are not it tho. You can definitely tell the difference between a 5er and a 3/4er.

F10 5er offered seat massagers, they were just ok.

For a long drive, just put me in an FCA RWD car.

I had comfort seats in the X5, regular seats in the X3, and we have the comfort seats in my inlaw's X1 right now.
The X1 massage is such an afterthought, but can't blame them for essentially giving you a free perk.
The X3 seats were fine.
The X5 seats were comfortable, the massage function had decent coverage but I wish it was a bit sharper and more rigorous. Can't really get those traits from a bunch of air bladders though. They help on long drives and if I'm sore from a heavy workout.

I haven't tried the iX massage seats yet. I found the regular seats lacking in bolster but the whole car is meant to be a couch.

That's where again it's subjective. I found the EvoX recaros to be terrible, they fold you up like a pretzel.

I had a 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan AKA G80 and my current 2020 Genesis G90. Very comfortable but I think a lot of the comfort has to do with the floaty nature of the cars. They absorb all the bumps.
