Damn You Squaresoft!!!!!

I hate Squaresoft, I mean I love them, no no no I mean I hate them. awwww.
Why, Why did they have to make Final Fantasy X-2 ????? Ok, ok. I have to say that I havent played FFX but hears the story...

I dont know if you hardcore RPG players remember back in 97' when FF7 first came out. Well if you guys/gals remember then you most likely know what I'm talking about. What FF7 did for the playstaion and RPG's is, is like what no game has ever done before. Thers simpley no words to discribe what FF7 did for the gaming world. (now this may be just my opion) but I think it was FF7 that put the playstation on the map of counsel gaming and basically paved the way for RPG's and almost everything!!.
If you guys ever played FF7 you know right after you did everything in the game and what-not. you were thinking the same thing I did, " this is the best damn game in the history of games, now I know they are going to make a sequel or a prequel for this game, or at least make a add-on so you can revive aris back without using gameshark or what not." but no of course not, square soft didnt do that.

It almost looked as if Square forgot about FF7 and just moved on to FF8,FF9.... now now I'm not saying that FF8,FF9, FFX wernt bad games ( well except for FF9) but so many people sent e-mail's and letters to squaresoft asking them to make a sequel or prequel to FF7, but square just said "sorry, after we make a FF game we are finished with that title, we just make new FF games, we never go back and fix or add anything to the old FF's"

Then to make matters worse a short time after FF7 came a game called Xenogears. ya thats right the allmight Xenogears, a game which was supposed to top the allmight FF7, and in many peoples eyes it did. Ok now let me get the attention of the Xenogears loving pople out here, and same goes for this, why, why didnt squaresoft making a sequel or prequel for this game. now now, I know the story behind the new game thats comming out called Xenosega, where some of the people that worked on Xenogears quit squaresoft and took part of the rights to Xenogears with them and is trying to make a prequel to Xenogears. But the thing is that this prequal has nothing to do with Xenogears. It just has like 1 ansestor from like the orginal Xenogears. Why the hell didnt square just make a damn sequel or prequal to this game. They know how many copies Xenogears sold.

I swear look at the stats, FF7 and Xenogears sold more copies than everysingle game on the Nintendo and sega combined. Now doesnt that tell you people at squaresoft," hmm... I think we did something right with this game, mabye we should make a sequal for it" OMG.

Well sorry for taking your guys time here but I just had to get this off my head. Feel free to add on to this rant if you agree with me or feel free to disagree with me. BTW this is just my opion. I did not ment to offend anyone.

I have completed every single FF game released in North America, on all platforms, except for Mystic Quest cuz that was gay! So I can make these comments.

FF7 was one of the worst FF game ever, story wise. Damn Chocobo racing was retarded and the ending was not worth the time spent playing. Like isn't that the whole point in playing a RPG? A good story, and a good ending that rewards you for putting in 50+ hrs?

If you haven't played FFX, then you should before you bitch about them making a sequal. FFX is great.

Now, I could care less about graphics. I play RPG's for the story.
FF7's story line was boring and the ending was retarded.

FFX's story is quite good and the whole game in general made it worth playing. I love games that have good endings. I was touched by FFX's ending. Give it a try and see if you agree.

Personally, my fav FF game of all time was FF3 (North American version). I personally love RPGs where there are many playable characters, and each character has their own story/agenda and the ending shows something for each character. FF3 was great, every character had their own issue to deal with.

The FF game the really blew me away graphics and sound wise was FF2 (North American release) Haha, it was a big step from FF1 to FF2 IMO. It was my first SNES game and I hooked it up to an amp and boy, it was amazing, at the time

I don't think game sales = good game.
I bought into the hype, rented Dragon Warrior 7, supposedly the #1 selling game in the history of Japan. And it sucked....big time.

FF 7 was not the best FF ever.
Biggest graphical leap yet, but lagged pretty far behind in compared to others in the series in terms or story/gameplay.

FF 3 was the best!

FF IV and VI were by far the best in the series. FF IX was also very good, as well as FF X. VII licked my left nut.

ahh the classic SNES FFs - where the amount of time you played the game actually meant you played the game instead of sitting there watching "Caller" animations

Fallan - have you played the SNES FFs at all just wondering? Kinda curious about your vidgame background

Coz I got soooooooooooooooo bored of FF7 so quickly - and everything looked so f*cking sterilized and stale graphics wise - yes the graphics were worth oooh'ing and aaah'ing - but that was as far as it went for me

BTW - Chrono Trigger and the Seiken Densetsu / Mana series also kicked ass

Yeah, the Chocobo racing crap was retarded. It blew the game off track and was really silly.

I don't know about you guys, but it took me about 3-5 months to finish FF7. I just totally lost interest...I had to force myself just so I can brag that I finsihed every FF game

Yes, it was that bad!
IMO, all FF games on the PS1 were junk.

FF7 = no story
FF8 = not bad story wise, nice ending, but too easy
FF9 = many people liked this one, I thought it was ok. I'd put it under FF8

I like the first Final Fantasy. That one was the hardest and the most rewarding.

FF7 rocks for sure..except the part of Daris's death....fxxk, I liked her more than Tina.

i played till she die only...
didnt brother to continue...

FF10 was great. FFX-2 is suppose to be a game trying to fight off DOAX. using the idea of sex appeal. but then, FFX-2 will still be a full RPG game.

Look, for those of you that liked FF7 are you sure you liked it coz of the story or coz of tifa's size 36F breasts? The ending was the biggest crap i've ever seen in an rpg from squaresoft. It's as if SNK was the one who thought of the idea to make tifa's breasts extra big just for the ending

Ive played every FF ever made (except mystic quest as well) and ive got to say that FF7 was near the bottom story wise. The only reason why FF7 sold so many copies was because of it's graphics. Nobody could even match it at the time. It was a big leap in terms of RPG gaming.

My personal favorite in terms of story has to be FF3, i dont know how many will agree with me, but that was my personal favorite.

the japanese ff3 or the american ff3 (aka ff6) ?

coz ff6 was one hell of a huge and highly engaging story - there was so much going on there!

Hmm, I never noticed Tifa's boobs.........all I remember for the ending of FF7 was they beat the last boss, said a bunch of crap about what the future will hold, and then it jumps to a scene 10 or 100 yrs later and shows bunch of stupid dogs, X10 or wutever it's called, running around. THE END!

WTF ending is that?

Am I the only guy here that has played Mystic Quest? I thought it wasn't all that bad actually. If you don't think of it as a Final Fantasy game, it's not that bad. It's not up there with the best of them obviously but I had fun with it none the less. Oh yeah, I think Final Fantasy III (VI) was the best in the series.

Squaresoft never released Racing Lagoon outside Japan, but somehow I found a bootleg when I was in the Philippines like 10 years ago. It's Final Fantasy meets street racing, and it was a fairly decent game tuning wise, if stacking 10 turbos for max power is your thing (think 600kg cars with 1200HP). I only managed to reach the game's ending about 4 years ago since I couldn't figure out how to get past a certain point at the end of the game.

I've also played FF 7, 8, 9, 10, X-2, 12, Xenogears and a little bit of Chocobo's Dungeon.

There's a reason why classics are classics... because they aren't tampered with.

My guess is they don't want to ruin the image of the FF7 franchise by making a prequel/sequel to reserve it in time as the classic it is in many peoples' eyes.
