Torque Steer
I don't know how you fwd guys do it.
I took my truck in for a couple recalls and they gave me this rental pos and I can't believe that 100hp thing had such bad torque steer. Felt like it wanted to rip the steering wheel right out of my hands. Anyways, just thought I would let you in on my thoughts. I'll stick with my rwd... |
You have weak arms? :p
If you were driving a Mazdaspeed3 you would probably be twisted into a pretzel right now, haha. |
Weaksauce.
|
what kind of rental POS with 100hp did u have?
i drove a lude with 160hp and its torque steer was pretty normal |
dude, hit the gym
|
Hahahah.
Well, only other fwd i've driven was my parents van some time ago. And never pushed that so I guess this would be the first time i've "experienced" any form of torque steer. |
Dont drive with one hand? LOL.. Ive driven a bunch of FWD cars and i dont usually notice any torque steer.. Maybe just a shitty car you had?

Try driving a DD FWD car with 300hp and 350+lb/tq and then complain to me about torque steer. :lol
|
When i push my TL I have learnt that it is necessary to push the steering wheel to the left
|
mazdaspeed3 is the definiton of torque steer, u should go test drive one of those and than update the thead :D
|
going left is where I need to be... :D

^oh yea true that... completly forgot about those gm fwd.. same as the pontiac gtp/gxp :D
|
new cars with EPS keeps the feedback to the minimum so it SHOULD feel less tq steery lol.
But it's physics you can't fix that. |
Locking diff helps a bit... even those Phantom Grip inserts are better than nothing.

I hate (cheaply designed) electronic diff's so much... |
You guys are funny, as I'd like to see you deal with this beast:
1966 Oldsmobile Toronado: http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclec...nado-1966a.jpg 425 Rocket V8 @ roughly 385hp. Oh yeah, it's front wheel drive. |
Why in the fuck would they make such an epic looking car fwd... It's sad really.
